Too much commentary, too little action

From time to time we watch British sport on tv. We both find that the British commentators really crap on at the expense of the actual events. No one wants to hear their pontificating. We want to watch the sport, commonwealth games etc and we don’t want to hear them . They are far worse than the Aussies.

That's the reason we don't watch sport. You only need the essential information, not their inane waffle.

I usually enjoy watching Wimbledon but John McEnroe could not stop talking and it was usually about how good a player he was!

It is not a lot better with the Commonwealth Games, they chatter on inanely.

Oh yes, I agree. They just don't seem to be able to shut up. Some of the family like to watch the Tour de France, but there is only a limited amount of time that I can spend looking at the lovely scenery before the endless commentary drives me away. Sometimes you can just see what is happening without being told!

It's interesting nanna8 that things are better in Australia. Could you please send over a coaching team for commentators? Thanks. grin

On many I turn the sound on and and off as suits. Never listen on snooker.

If on BBC they often have a red button option with no commentary. Having said that why not just use the mute button?
