What a phenomenon! Who would have thought that since the Abba musical stage show, there has since been abba the movie - Mamma Mia, and Abba the second movie - Here we go again, Abba voyage, the very special abbatars, all things digital and technical show, in London, all done without abba being there at the time of each show. Me, I have been to all of these, and yesterday saw the stage show again of the original mamma Mia in Bournemouth. Fantastic! The cinema films I went to see numerous times, at least 6 times and the sing a long version particularly mamma Mia here we go again, luckily I have a unlimited cineworld card so it felt I was going for free. This was a few years ago. And recently I discovered the Abba Voyage set list on Spotify, What a feel good factor anything ABBA is.

They have written many amazing songs and are performers of the highest standard but am not crazy about them like that. I am not keen on the movies at all. I saw the news about the abbatars and the Voyage show which looks spectacular. The technical skills in producing that are amazing, and if I lived in London I would probably try and go. I'm sure the technology will be used for other performers. If only we could have a virtual show with the Beatles or Elvis, but I don't think it's possible if they are deceased.

Abba Voyage sounds so exciting. If we'd have been told in 1974 that they and their music would 'live forever', I wonder what we'd have said.

My GD aged seventeen listens to ABBA. Their music is timeless.

I remember Abba being unfashionable at one time, and their songs being thought rather tacky. I never thought they were and they have proved their music will live forever along with the other greats. They are very clever in managing to reinvent themselves for each new generation, that is always the key to long life for a band or artist.

Remember dancing to all their hits at the local nightclubs back in the 80’s, I wasn’t a fan then, but yes surprisingly they keep reinventing themselves. Anyone can get to ABBA Voyage in London, you will be in for a brilliant time

I hear this tacky comment occasionally. I was 17 when Abba started churning out song after brilliant song

I was a disco girl and we all adored ABBA. Never heard them described as tacky.

I think they're incredible. My youngest daughter went to see the Abbatars and said it was incredible.

Never tacky!

They were definitely out of favour at one time Zoejory but I can't remember when that was. Obviously many years ago, maybe after they broke up?

Tacky! Never. Their music is quality, tuneful, timeless and singable. I love them.. They are my second favourite of all time (Queen being my first).
I'd love to see Voyage, but it's unlikely that I will. I've got the album though.

They definitely were not popular with the young things at the time. I was 16 when Waterloo was released, and we all thought it was the cheesiest thing ever, glam rock for the over 30s. I’m not an ABBA fan now either, I think your early prejudices stay with you - although I can see that they were very slick writers and performers. My favourite song is Slipping through my fingers, which I do find very moving.
