I've been reading a bit about Nostradamus and Mother Shipton, and I've come the conclusion that you just have to write an obscure verse and wait for time to pass. The great thing is that you don't have to say when it's going to happen or what it's actually about. All you need is for some prophecy theorist to read your verses and interpret them with the benefit of hindsight.
So here are a few of my prophecies. They are all about something that will probably in the future but are so obscure that it's all down to interpretation. It doesn't matter if prophecies don't match anything because no one talks about the non matches and anyway the event may not have happened yet. However if someone thinks they've found a match then it hits the internet/media and the world listens.
The clouds lose their strength
The stiff winged bird falls
It’s colourful heart crying for aid
All is lost.
The ancient city rises within the new
Burrowed columns tell the tale
The sky darkens and rises up
The new city is gone.
The earth screams
Fire consumes
The ship rises
High in the firmament a new sun
Bursts into existence
And then is gone.
The above will definitely happen at some time in the future.
This one has already happened:
The spawn no longer walk through the water
Black court reverse
The child shall live
This one may or may not happen but that doesn't matter.
He will come forth
With a new name
Shall be stared at with wonder and awe
But the clandestine shall rise
Life will be reversed
He will be no more.
Any ideas? Try it yourself. Prophecy is easy.
