Morning

No Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Malaga! It’s a gorgeous morning so a lovely start to our six week stay. Manchester airport was fine so that was a nice surprise. T3 has no ‘Next’ outlet I was disappointed. Never mind it’s probably better to cull my clothes out here (boxes and bags of stuff crammed into every nook and cranny) before buying any more. I’m going to be ruthless at the end of the month just as I did at home.

I’m sat on the little balcony with a second cuppa looking across at the sparkling cobalt blue Mediterranean. It’s so nice to be back! Himself of course is already organising the place, opening cupboards checking supplies. I’m helpfully staying out of the way. “Too many cooks spoil the broth” as they say!
? we will be in the beautiful gardens later, chairs under a palm tree, Kindle in hand. Now, where did I put those swimming costumes ...

Good morning from a dull but warm N. Bucks.
Yesterday, after much deliberation we finally booked a holiday for November. A cruise , taking in Morocco and some Atlantic islands. Looking forward to that.
Quiet day today with bits and bobs to do. This evening we have our annual WI garden party so hope it stays warm and dry.
Kind thoughts to all who are poorly or are worried about family or friends. Hope Wednesday is good to you all.

Good morning all and we’re back in Essex. We arrived back at midday and I suddenly remembered my birthday cakes for bridge club. I had made them 3 weeks ago but bridge was cancelled because of the extreme heat so I put them all in the freezer. Quickly defrosted and iced them and off I went. They went down well.

Today I have smallest gd (6) and like your little one, Marydoll she will bring her scooter. We’ll walk /scoot up to town and pop into the library for the summer read session (she loves a book). We might have lunch somewhere but she isn’t a good eater so might come back for a ‘buffet’ lunch (bits and bobs)?.

Yesterday Dh had the result of a blood test which showed he hasn’t got Huntington’s disease. Thank goodness! ?. There is something not right but not sure what! He’s having a CAT scan the end of the month. He’s off fishing today, so he’ll enjoy that. Solitary soul that he is. ?

Hope all poorly grans will have a good day and those travelling will be stress free. ?

Good Morning NanKate and everyone from Hull. Great deputies opening up.

It’s Chinese St Valentine’s Day today so DS is making sure his wife has a lovely day with flowers and is cooking her favourite meal of steak for dinner tonight.
Youngest son has got his second speeding ticket in a few months so that will be 6 points on his licence. Naughty!! It was in exactly the same place on the M62 as last time. Does he never learn?
DD sent us her new website to look at last night for her antenatal business. It looks great. Really proud.

Not to much on today. I’m just going to have breakfast and later this morning will either go to the gym or do a yoga recording.
Have a good day everyone hoping those not well find some relief today.
Enjoy those delightful GC and safe travels for friends on the move. ??

Morning from a very windy bit of S Lanarkshire.

I missed yesterday’s posts as I was busy helping to get the children out to their drama camp, DD not feeling too good.
Now I have to go all the way back there because I have left my iPad and am not there again for two weeks. Apart from anything else I get my daily paper on it and Gransnet is a lot easier to read than on my phone!

Glad that your HR people were supportive baubles, they know they have a good member of staff.

I am assuming from what I read this morning that DDs were having treatment yesterday, I hope it went as well as possible.

Your theatre outing sounds very interesting Grammaretto! You are fortunate to have a direct link to Edinburgh, it is such a hassle from here now that so many trains have been taken off during lockdown and no sign of them being restored yet.

I enjoyed ‘lunch’ with a group of friends and ex colleagues yesterday. We met at one o’clock and someone eventually looked at her watch and said in slight dismay. ‘It’s six o’clock ladies, I need to go home’!!

Wishing everyone a good day ???

GrannySomerset Wed 03-Aug-22 08:22:23

After sorting out DH’s many clothes yesterday with the help of a good friend I have a lot to deliver to the charity shops so will make a start today. Nothing else on the radar but who knows?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Aug-22 08:22:42

Morning all

Another dry humid day forecast for my little corner of S E Essex

The cleaning fairies are here today, I am off to the gym for a gentle stretch/Callanetics class.

Coming towards the end of my steroids at last, my face looks like I have hamsters pouches along with water retention I have to say I am not looking my best ???

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning from a sunny NE
My sister arrived in a taxi yesterday afternoon after having discussions with workmen who will be restoring her flat, involves replacing one wall and ceiling and other remedial work and will take three weeks. She is supposed to be flying home to Germany but can't get confirmation for flight yet.
SIL is coming this morning and we will go shopping.
I have an appointment at the medical centre this afternoon.
Have a good holiday for those away from home.

EkwaNimitee Wed 03-Aug-22 08:53:50

Good morning everyone from breezy sunny Carlisle.
I am waiting for the dentist to open up so I can consult about my painful mouth. The teeth and gums top and bottom on the side of the extraction (last Thursday) are painful, I have a tender lump below my jaw and a sore throat comes and goes. It's not improving, rather the reverse so better to deal with it before the weekend.

I'm fit enough to tackle the ironing though! So that's next.

I'm envious Urmston though it's probably hotter than I'd like. I'm idly thinking of Spain in November but I'll wait and see till after my upcoming holiday, which goes in the opposite direction so I'll be looking out a sweater or two.

Have a good day all and may matters improve for the unwell.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is trying it's best to shine.

Our boat finally went back into the water yesterday, only four months since it came out. We are planning our first trip out next week for a couple of nights.

I have to stay in for a delivery today, I hope it comes early so that I can get out for some fresh air.

Thinking of all with worries or sadness. Have a good Wednesday, love to all xxx

Good morning all from an overcast Co Connemara, rain scuds past the window , then the sun blinks out sleepily and retires for another wee rest ! We are promised better tomorrow ?

BlueSapphire Wed 03-Aug-22 09:09:12

Good morning everyone from an overcast and windy day in Northampton. No real plans for today, so shall take the Shark upstairs as it needs some exercise - the cats seem to be shedding a fair bit of fur lately.

Disastrous visit to the hairdresser yesterday - she completely messed up my fringe, and I am not a happy bunny. Had already decided I wouldn't be returning to her anyway, so don't feel guilty at all (and I didn't leave her a tip). A new one has opened up at the end of my road so will make an appointment there next month.

Had a quick bus trip to Sainsburys afterwards to return a top, and also pick up my holiday money.

Enjoy your holiday Urms, and hope that all have a pleasant day.

Blossoming Wed 03-Aug-22 09:27:48

Good morning everyone. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire, currently 21°C and feeling warm.

Today will be my usual routine of housework, physio, cycling and Gaelic lessons. First of all I must go and help Mr. B put the shopping away.

Have the best day you can everyone ???

Greyduster Wed 03-Aug-22 09:33:27

A late good morning from me, and I hope Yorkshire is doing Mick proud. The (not so) Little Lord of Chaos and I had a very good day yesterday. We made Cornish pasties, went to the garden centre where he persuaded me to part with more of my money than I intended to, and spent some of his own on a lump of pottery with ‘Grandad’s Garden’ written on it. We then worked ourselves to a standstill clearing space for the new plants and cutting back the evil shrubbery which was full of nettles (“well I can’t go in there, Nans; I’m wearing shorts!”). We ended up filling a green bin that had been almost empty. After dinner we played ludo. Today I think we’ll have a crack at tidying up the garage a bit, I’ll take him out for tea and cake, and then I’ll drive him home. Slave driver, me? Not a bit of it!?
Have the best day you can folks.

Greyduster Wed 03-Aug-22 09:34:30

Aggie what a lovely description of your weather!

luluaugust Wed 03-Aug-22 09:37:30

Good morning all from a cloudy, warm W Kent. Yesterdays birthday plans went well with tea and cake at a NT house and then a visit to the local Cook shop to feed the family. We managed to sit in the garden till past 9 o'clock.
Tea with friend this morning, who going by her card, thinks I am 21 again.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Sang in music club yesterday but didn’t enjoy it, just one of those days. Quiet at the moment as people are away. Couple of new members.
Off soon to drive 50 miles to see close friend giving a piano recital. Don’t do as much driving since lockdown and petrol increases, it starts to be more of an effort, but handy nevertheless. My neighbours are back so I don’t have to feed their cat after two weeks.
Thoughts to those gransnetters with DDs having treatment, my heart goes out to you and to anyone with troubles.
Will read through later.

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Just got the news my cousin died last night at ‘Jimmy’s’ in Leeds. She had a brain tumour so thankfully she hasn’t suffered too long
Will read your posts later
Have the best day possible folks

Kalu Wed 03-Aug-22 09:49:38

Good morning all. Thanks for opening Kate. It’s a breezy morning in Glasgow with an ominous looking sky which could mean rain is coming.

I had a lovely afternoon visiting DD1 and her girls. We did some shopping in Morrison’s where I bought more plants to put in pots and luckily found two pairs of Nutmeg linen trousers reduced to £12. I do love a bargain?
Hope it’s not too long until you are back to full strength baubles. It’s so frustrating when you want to get on with things but know you will have to bide your time until fully recovered which must take priority at present.
What a nightmare journey for you Maw. Pleased to know you finally arrived to enjoy some catch up time with your family.
Have a lovely time with your Delightful Dollie Marydoll. Absolutely the best medicine. (whisper), Morrison’s have plenty linen trousers in all sizes ?

Best wishes for a good day to all.
