Well someone had to start the thread.

First celebrity was announced on Breakfast this morning.

Will Mellors - I like him!

Go girl. ?

LilyoftheValley

i know I shall be flamed for this - but here goes. I love the idea of-Strictly and people not of the dance world are given a chance to shine. BUT speaking as an overweight person - size 16 - the sight of an obese person dancing around wearing not very much is truly dreadful. Yes, I can switch off but I enjoy parts of the show.

You are right it was a alful comment, as a size 14 to 16 and average to tall in height,I find your people dancing, and not wearing much, quite offensive, it's about the dancing and larger people can dance.
In the Summer people do not always wear very much,do you comment about people who wear swimming costumes?

volver Sat 08-Oct-22 19:18:37

Well you should be flamed. If you don't like the look of it don't look and don't vote for them. How do you feel about short people dancing? People with one arm or leg? It upsets me a lot to read this. Dancing is for anybody who wants to dance, not to make you comfortable.

It might be my fault but I think we should be over on the other thread!:

Joseanne Sat 08-Oct-22 19:07:49

I agree LillyoftheValley that display a minute ago wasn't good to watch.

rafichagran Sat 08-Oct-22 19:07:04

I lole Fluer, her energy is amazing.

MawtheMerrier Sat 08-Oct-22 19:06:41

LotV I totally agree even if I am flamed.
As for Motsi’s hair …words fail. Apart from anything else it looks so painful like a Croydon face lift with knobs on.

Joseanne Sat 08-Oct-22 19:03:12

Motsi looks like a poodle ?.

Fleur East? I like her.
She made her name as a no one on a reality TV show and is now going on a celebrity reality TV show! grin
If that makes sense.
I like the Enders guy too but he won't be anywhere near as brilliant as Rose.

Well I know 11 of the 15, but I think it’s a sign of my age that I don’t know the younger ones. I’m looking forward to it, but I do like to record it so I can fast forward through the bits that don’t interest me. I’m not keen on the sympathy stories and I’ve seen a couple of those already.
I look forward to seeing the weekly improvement of some celebs, but I hope they keep the ‘never danced before comments’ to a minimum, as well as the ‘he/she doesn’t realise how good they are, you Are a dancer!’ ?

Casdon Fri 12-Aug-22 10:31:15

I think Fleur East will be one to watch, she strikes me as somebody who will commit 100% to Strictly, although you can’t really tell until you see them do the first dance.
I love Claudia, she’s so funny. I read her autobiography a few months ago, it was excellent, a laugh on every page. Not so keen on Tess, I think she was better as a foil to Brucie than the main presenter.

Sparklefizz Fri 12-Aug-22 10:14:35

I love Claudia and her self-deprecating sense of humour. Not keen on "wooden Tess" but as someone said earlier, she does the job ok.

Richie seems good fun and I like him.

What I would love to change is the time spent showing each celeb pairing up with their professional, when they gush "You are the person I really wanted!" Cringe.

Sparklefizz Fri 12-Aug-22 10:09:18

I only know a few of the contestants but after a few weeks we'll get to know them and will already have our favourites judging by past series.

I'm not keen on Kym to be honest, but I remember her working hard years ago when there was a programme about people training to be opera singers, and she did very well, so I'm sure she will put in loads of effort. People like Matt Goss are used to putting on a performance, whereas others don't come from a performing background.

Not long to wait now!

lemsip Fri 12-Aug-22 09:54:58

Kym marsh is the one to watch. I think she'll be good

kittylester Fri 12-Aug-22 09:27:02

James Bye, the lovely Martin from stenders, has just been announced.❤️

SachaMac Wed 10-Aug-22 11:19:57

My eldest daughter use to love Bros, it will be interesting to see how Matt does. I can imagine him taking it quite seriously but putting on a great performance.
Hard to imagine it will soon be Strictly time & dark Autumn nights on such a beautiful hot sunny day as today.

kittylester Wed 10-Aug-22 10:32:23

Coo the contestants are co.ing thick and fast! I have missed loads but did spot Helen Skelton is in - that will mean DH will happily watch.

And a comedian called Ellie something who I think is great.

Not so keen on Matt Goss but will, no doubt, love him by the end.

Kate1949 Mon 08-Aug-22 15:28:21

Yes Fanny. He's in it. I told my daughter and she said 'Oh dear. He won't like bad feedback.' She doesn't watch Strictly but I think she will this year.

Matt Goss my daughter's all time heart throb.

Is he on it?!
He’s bound to be good value, but he’s a complete diva.
Should be a bit spicy!

DanniRae Mon 08-Aug-22 14:34:39

HurdyGurdy

di1964

Strictly is just a load of overpaid ‘celebs’ getting their faces on tv - no thanks!

Thank you for sharing that insight.

I guess we'll all just not watch now, based on that hmm

Seriously, why come onto a "fan" thread, and write a bitter, unpleasant comment like that? If you really feel the need to denounce a very popular programme, why not start an "anti-Strictly" thread so all like-minded posters can share their views, and leave the fan thread to those who like it.

Well said HurdyGurdy! smile

Joseanne Mon 08-Aug-22 14:22:02

Thank you Meryl, the art programmes look very interesting.

Kate1949 Mon 08-Aug-22 12:33:44

That art programme is lovely Meryl.

Josieanne
