Until Mr Soop is free to assist, I'm at present unable to read private messages. The screen is distorted. I shall return.

Sweetie Pie dropped in for breakfast and lunch combined. It was our pleasure.

Well done brook to both of you, perseverance and determination, you should be very chuffed.
Safe journey home tomorrow.

Nannytopsy Mon 05-Sept-22 21:26:42

Best wishes to Blossoming and all those who are under the weather or unhappy.
I have had a totally unproductive day. A bit of admin and a couple of phonecalls. I got as far as putting on my gardening shoes and it started to rain. Then it stopped but I didn’t get out. Hoping for a better day tomorrow!

brook2704 Mon 05-Sept-22 21:23:35

Sorry to hear you’re feeling a bit low annsixty, hopefully grannmarie’s idea of focusing on 3 positive things each day might help lift the spirits. I’m a great believer in enjoying the simple pleasures in life. I hope you feel a bit better soon and your friend has some positive news after Wednesday
Also for others feeling a bit down sending positive hugs and ?

We’re heading home to Inverness tomorrow after eventually finishing our long distance walking. We started walking the entire 630 mile South West Coast Path in 2019 and we should have finished in 2020. But covid hampered those plans and we didn’t restart it until earlier this year. The path starts in Minehead and goes all down the North Devon and Cornwall coast, around Lands End and the Lizard, and then all along the south coast to finish at South Haven Point near Studland in Dorset. We’ve had some very tough days but we kept going at our own pace, slow and steady. We’ve made memories to last forever and grown closer as a couple .. back to reality tomorrow though!

Jaxjacky Mon 05-Sept-22 19:27:02

Hi all, Yia sorry to interrupt ? we will try it out, it used to be Loch Fyne. We feel for our children and grandchildren.
Gorgeous earrings muse very different.
A fraught time for you annsixty I hope you’ve had good news today.
And you llfl what a very thorough Doctor and explaining so well, a thorough MOT for you too.
I’m hoping Galen is now sipping an aperitif before a delicious dinner, no cooking, no clearing up.
Singularly failed to get my last client a hospital lift today, we’re short of drivers. But I did get my windscreen wipers replaced, fuelled up my car and flicked a duster and hoover about.
Lunch out with a friend tomorrow after my drive for a client.
Enjoy your evening kitcheners x

Hello all. A curate’s egg sort of day so far. My car passed its MOT with flying colours and no advisories! Then my GP rang for a chat and asked if I could pop in as this excess calcium thing is complicated to explain. So I collected my car (and didn’t pay as I won an MOT voucher in our summer Festival raffle) and drove off to the Health Centre. Yes it is complicated. Because I’ve had cancer (stage 1 breast cancer but no radiotherapy or chemotherapy) she wants to be extra thorough. Worst case scenario (2%) is a tumour somewhere and best case scenario is that nothing is wrong at all! I am having a multitude of blood tests and a bone density scan too. If they still can’t sort out what’s wrong I will be sent for a full body scan. Phew! I also mentioned a tiny new mole on my face and although she thought it wasn’t sinister, is sending me to see a Dermatologist. This lady spends one day a week teaching medical students at Oxford University. If she teaches them to be as thorough as she is, they will be pretty good. Hope everyone has had a good day.

Blossoming I was concerned that you would be "missing" for a wee while. I now understand that it a temporary absence as you enjoy you well deserved holiday. sunshine

Galen I would very much like to join you after you have coped with the Bay of Biscay.

Grannmarie We also have wall to wall sunshine in bonnie Kintyre. I am doing my best to make positive progress with a pet portrait that I am painting. If I am successful, you lovely lot will hear about it.

Yia Oscar needs to feel free to open up his heart and share his sadness. I feel for you. I can appreciate how concerned you are. flowers

Yiayia4 Mon 05-Sept-22 15:27:00

Good afternoon Kitcheners.
Happy sailing Galen I hope the Bay of Biscay is not too choppy.?
It was Oscars’s first day back at school and he was so unhappy again!I really hope his issues can be sorted out and he gets the help he needs very soon.

Must go,I’m busy prepping for YiaYia’s Kitchen.????
Have a good evening all.

Galen Mon 05-Sept-22 14:01:39

Greetings from a lumpy bay of biscay!

Grannmarie Mon 05-Sept-22 12:40:58

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!?

We have some sunshine ☀ after overnight rain, so hopefully I'll do some tidying up in the garden after our week away. All holiday washing has been done, just ironing left...later!! I usually iron to A place in the Sun, I love to see the wonderful destinations and homes, it makes the ironing less of a chore. If it's really sunny, I might iron on the patio...decisions, decisions....

Happy holidays, Blossoming and MrB. Safe journey to Bonnie Galloway and I hope you sleep better on your holidays. I was pleasantly surprised how well I slept last week, lots of good fresh sea and country air.

Stunning earrings Muse, very original!

Annsixty, would it help to try writing down, or just reflecting upon, three things that you are grateful for each day? It can be very simple things like a sunny day, a good night's sleep, a coffee with friends, a text from a grandchild...anything that lifts your spirits.
I read about ''Gratitude journalling ' on an NHS wellbeing page...my dear Mum would have called it ' counting your blessings ' that was always her advice when things were getting us down. It is difficult when you are surrounded by sadness and illness. I hope you feel a wee bit better soon.

Neine, I hope your nether regions are a bit more comfortable today. Find a comfy cushion to sit upon!

I've just had a text from my friend suggesting we meet up this afternoon...gardening and ironing can wait!

TOYA

muse The earrings are very classy. The teapot is a winner.

Blossoming What is the matter? I enjoy our in-kitchen chit chat. If I can help with anything, please pm me. sunshine

annsixty I fully understand why you are feeling low in spirits. For similar reasons, I too am having a bit of a down time. Please accept a virtual, well intended hug. X

annsixty Mon 05-Sept-22 12:37:00

The wife of the friend referred to above has just rung me to say they have an appointment with the consultant on Wednesday to discuss the results of the scans and tests.
My fingers are firmly crossed for them.

soop Mon 05-Sept-22 12:33:17

Dear Neine, us lot are sending healing vibes to your poorly "noo noo". Plenty of rest and keep taking the meds. flowers

dragonfly46 Mon 05-Sept-22 12:07:37

So sorry Ann negativity is hard to shake off I know. I hope you can appreciate the sunshine and the small things in life again soon xx

annsixty Mon 05-Sept-22 12:00:31

Hope all is well Blossoming
Take care.
I have been having a difficult time with negativity, it is colouring my life.
I have decided this morning I must shake it off.
Easier said then done I think.
I have a very old friend and her son and cousin coming to see me tomorrow.
She lives beyond Cambridge and is coming to stay with her cousin for a few days, she wants to see for the last time just where she grew up and went to school etc.
Sadly she has terminal cancer.
Two other friends are both quite
Ill one just home after seven weeks in hospital, housebound with carers and one waiting for the results of tests to see if his cancer has returned.
It is so hard to be cheerful and positive but I am going to do my best.
My kindest thoughts to you all.

Blossoming Mon 05-Sept-22 11:22:40

Good morning dear Kitcheners. I’m just dropping in to let you know I’ll be missing from Gransnet for a while. Take care all x

Just creeping quietly into the kitchen. It's almost midnight and like all good girls grans I should be in bed.

Had the most wonderful afternoon out today which has boosted my spirits. A contemporary art/craft fayre at Potager Garden, further down southwest in Cornish Cornwall, enticed me - so with Mya for company, I wandered off and indulged my creative inner being. I was tempted by a pair of silver earrings and admired a log wall - it has inspired me - for the new garden. Then I spotted a teapot. What a great idea I thought !

That sounds so painful Neine. I recognise the name - it's one my lovely mum used to use. Will it take long for the fracture to heal?

You must visit Yia's restaurant Jax. Have fun in Oxford and I hope the weather is kind to you.

Charleygirl5 Sun 04-Sept-22 22:58:07

neine what on earth is your noo noo?

brook2704 Sun 04-Sept-22 21:10:21

Hope you’re feeling much better soon neine!
