WELCOME

You must be so proud, Soop.
I’ve had a bit of a baking day. I made a batch of caramel ice cream - I seem to have got making caramel down to a fine art. The trick is not to turn your back on it! I also made some lemon and raspberry friands. There were quite a few boxes of spare egg whites in the freezer and I can’t keep making pavlovas! My Australian sister in law reckons her freezer looks like a sperm bank with its bags of egg white! OH is out for a walk seeing if he can spy any deer. I have been following the progress of my hall and landing curtains, and it’s now saying ‘in production’.
That's such a good idea Soop. Close to family and small enough to cope with.
What a sensible thing to do Soop.
Do you lovely lot ever pause and take a deep breath? I have never come across such busy peeps as our Kitcheners. You are beyond marvellous.
We spent several hours yesterday, registering/enrolling me for rental of a one bedroom, ground-floor flat in the vicinity of Oakham/Rutland, where we have family. NOT may I add, because I shall be leaving here...unless, in the sad event, that Mr Soop predeceases me. If I should die first, he will remain in the home that we built together some nineteen years ago. I no longer drive. I could not cope with the garden. Family are several hundred miles away.
We had a heart to heart talk with the sons and families during our visit. By registering now, I shall have one major worry less to think about at some time in the future. Every six months, I shall receive an email to ask whether I wish to remain on the list. Fair enough. It isn't being morbid. It is merely a practical possibility.
SweetiePie called this morning. It was a joy to see her wee, sweet, expression.
I have a job to attend to right now. I shall return a little later.
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Grandmabatty I love lemon curd, thank you very much for the cupcakes. I hope your back feels better after some rest. Lovely cats BlueBalou.
I’m just about to do my cycling followed by Gaelic practice, will pop back later.
I thought I had posted yesterday but apparently not. I was out this morning for breakfast with dd and dgs2. A friend of dd has opened a place in town so it would have been rude not to go. ? Then we wandered round shops, many now sadly empty. I bumped into a friend of mine too. I'm now lying on the couch as I have succumbed to sciatica. I could feel it starting earlier. I'll leave some lemon curd cupcakes I made yesterday. They are very moreish. The lemon curd is homemade too. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.
Lovely photos of the 2 Annies.
Soop, you and Matt have the same eyes and same smile.

I’m another intermittent poster Doodle but I’ve just had yet another massive catch up so I’m up to date today. Glad you had a wonderful family break and holiday soop and I loved all your photographs. Also very glad to see Galen popping in.?
Here are some photographs of our nephew’s new rescue dog. She’s recovering very well after being run over before she ended up at the rescue sanctuary. She seems enormous rafter some of her predecessors especially next to the indomitable Suzy.
She has the sweetest nature and her name is, wait for it, Annie.
Here’s my Annie in her default pose ??
Pleased to hear you’re feeling a bit better blossoming, take it easy and very well done with the Gaelic
Good evening lovely Kitcheners. So glad you have water Muse and that Mr.M didn’t do too much. Love your kitchen LadyLL
I wasn’t feeling too good yesterday, nausea and dizziness. Possibly due to lack of sleep. Feeling much better, I’ve pottered about today, my 45 minutes cycling was much easier in the cooler weather. I’m getting better at the Gaelic every day. Now feeling quite sleepy, early bed for me.
Good evening lovely Kitcheners.
We’ve just had dinner. We had some left over lamb from a joint I’d frozen so I threw it in gravy did veg and we had a lovely lamb dinner. Yum. Really felt like a gravy dinner as its a bit cooler. I’m not taking well to cooking so much with DH working as I’ve got out of the habit.
Soop that’s such a great pic of you and your son. So alike. I’m downloading the book. I read about them both and wow so intelligent and interesting. You must have some great conversations.
Naughtyneine I’m so pleased you messaged your GC and one day I’m sure they’ll get in touch then they will realise what they are missing.
Hulahoop my GD regularly asks me if I’m old if I struggle to do something.
Ladyleftfieldlover I love the curtains. You have great taste.
I’ve been shopping with mum today and I’ve bought a few loose linen Italian tops for my holiday they are one size covering a multitude of sins. Lovely colours too and all 15 pound each!
My childminding is done for the week so time to chill.
Have a good evening everyone and speak soon. X ?
Nice curtains LLFL!
Such good news muse about your water supply, so pleased the stream is flowing again and it’s looking much better. Well done to your DGD too
It’s been an unexpected warm sunny afternoon here in Inverness so I’ve been out in the garden pottering about, weeding and I got the back lawn mowed.
The kitchen is looking good llfl ?
What a lovely new addition to the family dusty
I’m just about to see what I can find in the cupboards to rustle to something to eat, some tomato pasta thingy I expect ?
Llfl Your kitchen is delightful. I especially like the curtain fabric.
I have posted the book that I engrossed in on forum - What are you reading now 2.
Night night, and thank you for your company. Until tomorrow

I thought I’d posted a final photo of my decorating, but obviously not. Here is the kitchen
Thank you, Baggs
Full title is What are you reading now 2
Just get someone to declare they are reading it on the What are you reading thread, soop.
Dear HQ, Would it be possible for me to mention the title of the book that my son has had published? I am thinking of keeping the facts in the Kitchen forum.
dustyangel Annie is welcome to take her place in the pampered pets gallery.
Galen It is good to have you pop in. We enjoy your company.
muse I enjoyed reading your message. Did BT call?
I have avoided all housework today. My son's book is far too interesting and both Mr Soop are hooked. It is beautifully written. All the research and commitment have, I'm convinced, produced a future best seller. Biased? Me? Possibly.

Good Morning kitcheners. Just enjoying my coffee ☕️. I turned the tap on to fill the kettle and there was water?.
The shower at the holiday park on Sunday was fantastic. MrMuse had a Plan B for water on Monday. We had approached a water company for a 5000 ltr delivery. The water itself was cheap but the delivery was an eye watering amount. Plan B involved digging up and moving 500m of pipe further up the stream to where there was a large pool of water. A son of a friend came down with his muscle power and two hours later we had the pipe connected to the pump and water was on it's way to our tank. I was worried MrM would do too much but he behaved. Glad I wasn't watching.
The downpours have strengthened the stream and it is almost flowing normally.
Glad your DH's thumb has been repaired successfully brook. I still have the scars to remind me of a saw accident a few years ago. The packaging of sharp implements needs some looking at. Enjoy the CB curry. Aren't they delicious.
Welcome back yia. Fantastic photo. Love a sunset.
Peaceful, restful night's sleep now Urm. Did you have a ceremonial burning of said lashes ?.
It lifts my heart to read of staff helping and understand children's needs. That was lovely for your little one cornergran. My niece has an 11 year old with autism and is always campaigning for a greater awareness of their needs.
That is a photo of a very proud mum with her son soop. What an amazing amount of memories you now have. I wish him and his partner lots of luck and sales with the book.
The day has finally come SueD. Thinking of you today. Join us tonight in the kitchen to celebrate. ??
Just had a text from my DD. My DGD1 has just been told she has a distinction for her first year's B.Tech work ? . She is doing a two year course at a local college and will then go off to Uni. She got great GCSE grades at school but had a tough two years so decided not stay on for A levels.
I've been stuck inside waiting for a call from BT who said they would ring between 9 and 12. They have 10 mins left before I ring them !
Take care everyone.
Soop lovely photos. What a good looking family you are.
Galen nice to hear from you.
Sorry I’m an intermittent poster these days but I do pop in for a read.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.
