Good Morning Everyone,
Its the start of another warm day here in brackley this morning.
A quiet day and a essential shop early .
Looking like a week of warm weather for all , which can be uncomfortable at times .
Take Care,
Mick
PS my Warners trip last week , they have gone contactless on purchasing within any of there complexes

Marydoll Mon 08-Aug-22 20:20:53

Auntieflo, glad to hear you are improving.
Unfortunately, the disabled bays are usually full, mainly with cars belonging to people who don't have a Blue Badge, dropping stuff off at the charity shop, so I need DH to carry the bags!
I'm actually quite pleased with my cull. grin

It really annoys me, that people are so thoughtless.

Auntieflo Mon 08-Aug-22 19:48:10

Apologies Marydoll. When you said you couldn't park near the shop, I jumped to conclusions ?, but so pleased to hear that you do indeed have a Blue Badge.
Thank you, I am getting better, but take ages to get going in the mornings. Take care of yourself in this heat and try not to do too much.
SunshineSally, here's hoping you are not too sore after your fall. Get better soon.

SunshineSally Mon 08-Aug-22 19:03:04

Thank you ShazzaKanzza and Litterpicker xx

Marydoll Mon 08-Aug-22 17:56:20

*Auntieflo, I have had a Blue Badge for about fifteeen years. It has indeed been a blessing, especially for hospital appointments. I qualified due to my COPD and RA, added to that my recent heart problems, meant it was renewed automatically the last time. I was expecting a lot of fuss!
Our local hospital is at the top of a very high hill. In fact many moons ago, I went into labour, after climbing that hill!

I hope you start to feel better soon. ?

Auntieflo Mon 08-Aug-22 15:02:38

Good afternoon Mick, Annie, and one and all.
I was too late (and lazy) to catch the Morning group.
After a shower and hair wash, I was washed out. Coffee and a catch up here, and felt better, so put in a big coloured wash. It will dry in no time, but my rotary line seems to be giving up gradually. A new one will be our next purchase.
DH needed a plug put on something and as my hands are more nimble than his these days I did that, and got all hot and bothered. My Covid is mild, but I do get very tired. Probably due to other things going on.
Marydoll, have you applied for a Blue Badge? It might be worth giving it a go. Mine is a blessing.
To all who have had set backs or worries, take care and be gentle with yourselves.
Have a good day one and all.

Morning all from East Northants, been out early this morning shopping before it gets too hot. Not looking forward to the next heatwave to come, will stay indoors as much as possible, no rain forecast either! I don’t post often as I lead a quiet life compared to some, but do read posts every day. One good thing is the CanadianOpen tennis will keep me occupied this week, on Amazon Prime. Hugs and best wishes to all.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 08-Aug-22 11:20:25

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Better late than never.
Haven’t managed to read your posts, depends how many more interruptions I get trying to write this post. I’d forgotten we were having a security system fitted yesterday. The bloke did not finish and is coming back this am. He’s very thorough and is sorting out our wifi problems as well.
I’ve got my Roomba vacuum back working but it kept going in the wrong direction! So I’ve vacuumed with both it and the Dyson, got a wash on and had a chat with my sister!
Now before there are more interruptions I’d better try to read the previous posts!
Have the best day possible folks

Litterpicker Mon 08-Aug-22 10:52:21

Good morning from coastal West Sussex. There is not a cloud to be seen in the bluest of blue skies.
Tomorrow is F day - the new vinyl plank flooring will be laid over two days. There is still too much furniture in the living room so I think the sofas will be going out into the garden. I hope we like what we chose many months ago ?
Oopsadaisy sorry to hear of your bereavements ?
SunshineSally hope your bruising soon heals. A difficult time for your family with your MILs decline ?
Thoughts with all with health problems and worries, Marydoll, Baubles, Auntieflo (hoping your Covid is mild) ??????????

dustyangel Mon 08-Aug-22 10:48:35

Good morning everyone, not read through yet but will catch up later.
I slept very well last night and feel so much better. I wish I knew why I slept so well but it could be any number of things so I shall simply accept it as the blessing it is.

It’s a grey cloudy morning ( maybe I’m genetically programmed for that!) not cold, 25°C, but the air is slightly damp. The strong winds have dropped but as we’re promised sun tomorrow they’ll probably arrive soon.

I hope you all have as good a day as possible.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 08-Aug-22 10:06:37

SunshineSally
Sorry to hear about your fall yesterday ?there have been a few falls on GN lately
Love to your Mother and father in law.?

Blossoming Mon 08-Aug-22 09:20:29

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s another sunny morning in this corner of Lancashire, currently 16°C.

The Met Office are predicting another spell of hot weather for us this week, though not as extreme as recently. I love the heat but poor Mr. B suffers, his fair skin burns in no time.

Happy Monday to us all ?????

SunshineSally Mon 08-Aug-22 09:20:21

Good morning everyone from sunny South Hants. It’s been rather manic these past few days so I haven’t had a chance to join you all.

Had a lovely time yesterday with friends that we hadn’t seen for six months. Wonderful to catch up with them ?. Otherwise it’s been visits to see GDDs etc.

We visited Lakeside Country Park on Friday (FREE!) and took our dog. Had a lovely walk in the shaded areas but I was too busy watching a goose and managed to turn my ankle and fall over! Cue massive bruise on leg (I bruise easily) and embarrassment as I struggled to get up!

Not sure what we’re doing today although MIL has a hospital scan at 18:45 today and DH is taking them both down there. MIL is sadly going downhill health-wise and sleeps a lot these days which upsets FIL as he’s terrified she’ll ‘go’ before him ?. All we can do is be there for them both and support them (and each other).

Have the best day you can everyone.
Hugs and ? for you all ?

Good morning from an already hot and sunny day here in Essex by the sea.

DD2 is 43 today, I've sent flowers, I hope they look as good as the picture online.

I have some admin to do this morning together with some cleaning.

I'll go out for a walk later by the sea, hopefully there will be a bit of a breeze.

Have a great Monday everyone xx

harrigran Mon 08-Aug-22 09:10:59

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Yesterday was a quiet day, SIL and I went for a walk and it was breezy but warm.
We cooked dinner together and then enjoyed a film on Netflix.
My sister is not happy because I told her off about travelling with covid, apparently she is visiting her doctor in Germany today and will travel in a taxi hmm She seems to have no concept of infection control.
Washer on and everything will go out on the line so expect to get my ironing done too.
Have a good day.

GrannySomerset Mon 08-Aug-22 09:05:29

Dentist this morning and the local handyman to paint the front door and surrounding woodwork but nothing exciting on the agenda. Looks as if it will be a very hot week so an excuse for being indolent. Think I will miss the Games!

Mapleleaf Mon 08-Aug-22 08:54:19

Good morning,

It’s a sunny and warm one here in South Yorkshire, with just a gentle breeze. It’s going to be hot later, I think.

A trip out to a garden centre with the coffee morning group today. I’ve warned Mr M that I’ll no doubt come home with a plant or two ?.

Hope everyone has the best day they can. Those of you sorting things out, “well done” and keep up the good work. ?

luluaugust Mon 08-Aug-22 08:48:19

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Off to see friend where I used to live for a good catch up. Later I shall probably do even less and read in the garden.
Best wishes to all.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 08-Aug-22 08:45:55

Good morning Mick and everyone. Another gorgeous day in Hull.

Ashcombe enjoy your run of Allo Allo I’m sure it will be amazing.

Today I’m doing a yoga class and a gym session. It’s the only one I can do this week with being busy.
DS and GS and DD SIL and the DGDs are coming this afternoon. DH is doing a hot buffet.

Have a good day if you can and thoughts and hugs to those finding life a struggle.??

Kalu Mon 08-Aug-22 08:41:05

Good morning all from Glasgow where we have sunshine but not quite warm enough yet to have my kick start espresso al fresco. Not complaining though as it will allow me to tick off some outdoor chores on my list.

Best wishes for a good day to all.

Grandmabatty Mon 08-Aug-22 08:37:39

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 15° and blue skies abound. It's still quite breezy though. Yesterday was quiet and I didn't get up to anything of note. Today augurs to be much the same. I see a ladder in the garden so the window cleaner is due. Have a good day all.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 08-Aug-22 08:34:02

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire.

Mick contactless yes, but did you notice how many hundred people went into the theatre in the evenings? At Beambridge it was packed out, no masks, waiters moving amongst the crowds with drinks. We didn’t bother!

Dog sitting this week and 2 deaths in the family last week, so not a very happy time at the moment.

Anyway I will read the other posts later as I have some phone calls to make.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Ashcombe Mon 08-Aug-22 08:25:52

Good morning on another sunny day in Torbay.

We enjoyed a more restful day yesterday ahead of the opening tonight of ‘Allo, ‘Allo. The play runs for a fortnight, so we shall have clocked up 13 performances in total! It is selling fairly well and, after a few shows, we hope audience recommendation will sell more tickets. Sadly, our numbers are not yet at pre Covid levels.

Enjoy those lovely family times and kind thoughts to those in need. ?????

Georgesgran Mon 08-Aug-22 08:25:32

Good morning from Durham. The blue skies and sunshine have returned - lovely. The start of another busy week, after a very quiet weekend. Off to a garden centre soon for coffee with a friend, then must call and see another friend on my way home.
gM I admire your energy, I still have all DH’s clothes to go through - he kept his (lots) in different rooms from mine, so they’re a bit ‘out of sight, etc’ plus the DDs want some items, to have teddy bears made for their little ones. I must get them to choose, then I’ve no excuse.
Urms - remember our £400 will come as installments from October, not a lump sum. I’m coming out your way in a couple of weeks with DD2, so I hope that weather holds.

Hope everyone has a good day and congratulations to NT on the safe arrival of Fergus.

Pittcity Mon 08-Aug-22 08:18:56

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Default hot and dry weather.
Popping into the City centre to pick up a few bits and bobs and might browse the sales as the Summer clothes that I didn't cull in the spring are getting so much wear that some might not last until the cooler days arrive. I'm washing and wearing the same few things and have even booked a holiday apartment with a washing machine for the end of September in case I don't have a wearable week's worth to take.
Will have yesterday's leftover pork in a curry tonight.
Love to all ?x

baubles Mon 08-Aug-22 08:13:58

Good morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Seeing the sunshine this morning has lifted my spirits, the incessant rain was really getting me down. My mood can be so affected by the weather.

A trip to M&S food hall to pick up some nice things to eat is on this morning’s agenda followed by an afternoon reading in the garden. Bliss.

Have a wonderful time with your family Stilllearning.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??
