I am.

My bedroom has returned to its sauna like temperatures, despite me having two fans facing me…

I’ve done Wordle, got the radio on and taken some painkillers in the hope that they might help matters.

I might have to get up and eat something…

Hi, I had a bad night too due to my quiet/well used bedroom fan malfunctioning! Another one on order for delivery today, hopefully..?

Casdon Thu 11-Aug-22 12:12:53

That sounds brilliant geekesse if anybody does see it please post your pictures so we can all see too!

Namsnanny Thu 11-Aug-22 11:51:36

Thanks for that information geekesse
I was awake until dawn but didnt look at my phone. I expect tonight to be the same so I shall be star gazing!

For anyone who can’s sleep tonight, go outside and look at the sky. It’s the peak of the Perseid meteor shower - lots of shooting stars. www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2022/08/10/meteor-shower-uk-perseid-watch-peak-august-full-moon-2022/

I didn’t sleep well last night either, I woke up sweltering at 4am. It wasn’t actually a full moon though, it’s not until 12th, I knew it wasn’t full because it was massive when I took my dog for a walk too yesterday evening, and you could see that bottom left wasn’t round. It was stunningly beautiful though. My picture isn’t as good as yours georgesgran, it wasn’t dark enough - I’m planning to go out tonight to see if I can get a better one.

Just seen this thread - thought you might like this - the moon last night where I walked DD2s dog. It really was orange.

‘Morning Ken!
I’ve been awake all night, as has MissA by the look of things.
I’ve got bamboo sheets, and yes, they are lovely.
The come out of the washing machine virtually dry too.

Well awake now, all windows open and it is coolish. Across the road spent a long and loud time, around 2o’clock, saying goodbye to visitors. Loud voices, yapping dogs and revving cars. It even woke DH. So took a while to get back to sleep. Anyway new bamboo sheets came yesterday so we will put them on the bed today. Supposed to be cooling’.
Another hot day in prospect.

Help! My head won't stop thinking.

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 04:50:32

Oh, I have a pair of I's.
Not surprised now I've seen how my fingers look!

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 04:49:26

Old ma adventure's secret recipe that is.
So secret even I I don't know it. smile

FannyCornforth Thu 11-Aug-22 04:46:43

Thank you for the recipe
I will definitely report my findings smile

MissAdventure

Yes, it's true about menstruating at the same time as your housemates.
It'll also happen if you introduce a man into the mix, even faster.

Wow! That’s really interesting.
There was a man for a while, but he was a very closeted gay man…

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 04:42:03

I expect you could coat the banana blossom and oven bake it into little strips or something.
That's my recipe of the day. smile
I can't cook really.

FannyCornforth Thu 11-Aug-22 04:40:40

You just can’t do anything in this weather
It seems like just a waste of time.
I feel so sorry for people who have to work in it

I don’t know why or how I typed ‘womem’

FannyCornforth Thu 11-Aug-22 04:37:44

DH’s family all swear that his dad went a bit barmy when there was a full moon.

The moon also affects women’s (yes! Womem’s) menstrual cycles.
And I remember something about when you live with other women your cycles end up synchronising.
I don’t know if this is a myth, but it happened to me and two friends when we were living together for three years.

I’m going to have to try some banana blossom (yes, it does sound delightful) but I’ve no idea what I’m going to do with it.
I never deep fry anything. Nothing to do with health, more to do with smell.

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 04:37:10

I'm full of beans now, and will be like an ha'porth of soap after a hard days wash, tomorrow.

karmalady Thu 11-Aug-22 04:34:13

The word luna (r) tic. Full moon madness

4 more days of this, nights are worse

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 04:31:20

At least if it rains I won't have to buy a new watering can!

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 04:27:57

I hope you get off to sleep, Esmay.
What a pretty name. smile

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 04:26:04

It didn't feel a rainy sort of heat today.
It was more as it would be abroad, but I don't like that, either.

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 04:24:08

There are (I think I read somewhere) a lot more awful crimes committed during full moons.

Interesting, even if I did make it up in my own head.

Esmay Thu 11-Aug-22 04:22:30

I'm going to try to sleep now.
I have prickly heat from trying to save my plants .
I've given up with jewellery-poor you MissA .

Rain might mean floods as the ground is like concrete and how many people have had their front gardens paved over ?
