Rain! If you’re in the SE, have you had any?

We had a fair bit last night in outer SW London - not nearly enough of course, but proper rain for maybe half an hour, and it’s blissfully cool this morning - at least compared to the oven-like temps recently.
More please! ?

Pouring down in Ealing!

Honeysuckleberries Tue 16-Aug-22 11:51:51

Near Heathrow had a light sprinkle and now it feels humid. Anyone know a rain dance?

NanTheWiser Tue 16-Aug-22 11:48:27

Steady rain here - London/Surrey border, since 9.30! At long last!

Bellanonna Tue 16-Aug-22 11:42:39

Raining slowly but steadily here in Kent/South London borders
It’s wonderful to have doors and windows open and to both hear and smell this lovely, much longed-for bit of nature. I hope it stays for a while.

Northumberland, light rain and 15 degrees now.

Clearing up hear. Still better than nothing. More forecast for tomorrow

More rain here! Coming down steadily now. And 20 deg outside the kitchen window. I feel human again!

No rain here in my part of South Yorkshire yet, though the sky is clouding up. We’re supposed to have some from about 4 pm, but we’ll see. We were forecast some for yesterday, but no rain came. No thunder, either.

Rosepaul Tue 16-Aug-22 11:01:51

We are still waiting in Suffolk parched here too

gillgran Tue 16-Aug-22 10:55:22

Not a drop, so far, here in our bit of North Cambs., We are parched!

We had a rainy day here in France on Sunday, it was wonderful and the temperatures dropped. However it's creeping back up today into the hot zone

GrannyGravy13 Tue 16-Aug-22 10:34:29

Light rain here in S E Essex, hope you have it as well Gingster

Georgesgran Tue 16-Aug-22 10:19:29

In Durham - I was surprised that Harrigran reported thunder storms a couple of nights ago. I’m only a few miles away and had nothing - but there’s steady rain here now, but nothing spectacular.

Callistemon21 Tue 16-Aug-22 10:17:39

We had a dribble in S Wales

My head felt as if we were going to have a thunderstorm but nothing materialised.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 16-Aug-22 10:14:23

Oxfordshir, about 20 minutes of light rain, plants still dropping.

MissOops lives 15 minutes away and the rain has half filled her water butt!

Witzend Tue 16-Aug-22 09:35:09

Dd and family are going camping in a couple of weeks, so Sod’s Law says it’s bound to rain then! Can’t remember where though, but I don’t think it’s in the SE, sorry!

Nell8 Tue 16-Aug-22 09:32:29

NW Surrey about ten minutes ago. A few gentle plops on the patio. Not enough to join up. Shrieked upstairs to DH in excitement but it came to nothing. Scanning the sky for promising clouds but it's just a uniform grey. Back to the watering cans. Sigh.

grandMattie Tue 16-Aug-22 09:32:28

Rain? What’s that???
We haven’t had any for so long in E Kent, I would barely recognise it. The most forecast is 32% chance for us - little if any! And that is for tomorrow…

Parsley3 Tue 16-Aug-22 09:29:24

Anyone in Portsmouth? We are headed there today and think that thunderstorms are forecast.

Jaxjacky Tue 16-Aug-22 09:22:04

S Hampshire, not quite SE, we’ve just had 30 minutes of light rain, that’s it, after about 6 weeks of none.

lixy Tue 16-Aug-22 09:17:26

Nothing here yet in Bedfordshire, but it is much cooler and rain predicted for this afternoon, so all the buckets are out ready to catch it!

Rosie51 Tue 16-Aug-22 09:14:15

Still waiting for a single drop in SE London/Kent border. Not a rain cloud in the sky to be seen.

Gingster Tue 16-Aug-22 09:13:21

Essex btw
