Who hasn’t had Covid?

A group of people is emerging who seem to be immune to the virus. Neither myself nor Dh have had it - I was on the shielded (hate that word) list but took advantage of all that I could do when restrictions were eased a little. I met people, had meals out, stayed in holiday cottage, went to theatre with Dgc etc. Of course I observed all the distancing/mask wearing/sanitising guidelines - many others have also done this and still caught the bug but Dh and I haven’t. My elder daughter is department head in a local academy and she has never had the virus either. She’s in daily contact with 50 department staff plus 100s of pupils and has avoided it. Dgd has had it, but her mother still hasn’t even with it in her own home.

I was just curious to see how many Gnetters have avoided it.

Despite being on the vulnerable list, I hardly dare say it but no neither Mr B nor have had it. We certainly go out and mix with people but I always wear a mask, often the only one in the supermarket with one on and will continue. To do so. All the family except my son and daughter have had it, I even sat in a hospital in the full protected gear to be with my daughter while covid was on the ward. Long may it last for me

I don't want to speak too soon but thus far I've escaped the virus. I see friends and family two or three times a week now (during lock-down I was pretty much alone) and get a bus maybe once a week. I have stopped wearing a mask. I've always washed my hands when getting home, perhaps that helped. I'm still fairly careful.

DH and I didn't get it, nor when we were on a cruise earlier this year.

All I'm saying is I am not tempting my luck.

Oh dear!

I haven’t had it
Keep my Vit D & Vit K up which is supposed to help.

Do you need to take vit D when it's sunny summer time? I do take vit D daily but wonder if I need it if I've been out in the sun for an hour or so?

No not had it, nor my son who lives with me. I have work that puts me in contact with lots of people on a daily basis. Not had any jabs either.

My family suspects we may have all had it Xmas 2019 before Covid was known about though, but nothing since.

Minimoon, I think you may have had a very mild case of Shingles. I had a very atypical case myself years ago. If so, that's good for you.

Both my husband and I never had it though rest of our family had it twice .People I do work for all had it ?2 or 3times though

Shandy3 Fri 19-Aug-22 22:46:16

I haven't had it either, nor has my partner, we do all the 'usual' stuff

Secretsquirrel1 Fri 19-Aug-22 22:17:36

I’m pretty sure I haven’t had covid as yet. I was on the vulnerable list originally and I was careful whilst the restrictions were on and for some time after.
I fully expect I’ll catch it and one time. I think I’ve just dodged the bullet up to now !

MrJ hasn’t, as far as we know, not a sniffle, apart from normal hay fever, for three years, I got it in April this year.
Whist abiding by the rules, he was working once tradesmen were allowed, we did eat out to help out and used our local pub through table service, masks and then freely.
Both have had three jabs.

I haven’t had it - but then I only go out to medical appointments/ dentist, outdoor visits or see my DD and DGCs. Everything is ordered outline.

Sara1954 Fri 19-Aug-22 21:44:05

I had it very mildly this summer, wouldn’t have thought to test if a colleague didn’t have it, I assumed I had a bad bout of hay fever.

Working with a small group of a dozen people, at least half of them have had it twice, one of my daughters was quite Ill showing all the symptoms but continued to test negative, but my son and husband are the only two who haven’t had it once, although we all work quite closely together.

NanaPower Fri 19-Aug-22 21:12:20

I've never had it either, but I swear I had it in November 2019. Me, and my dgs both had it bad and my husband didnt get it as bad as we did. I think thats possibly stopped it from us getting it again. No idea but just a guess smile

GrammaH Fri 19-Aug-22 21:09:17

As far as we know, neither DH nor I have had it. We haven't been particularly cautious & have been to some big parties since they became permitted. DD's partner had it but she didn't get it. DS, his wife & their boys all had it & we'd seen the elder DGS just before he went down with it. There's still time though, I'm not getting too complacent!

fluttERBY123 Fri 19-Aug-22 20:42:44

Touch wood we haven't had it. Or have we? Maybe we did but were asymptomatic. We are fully vaccinated.

Ailidh Fri 19-Aug-22 20:40:24

I didn't get it until Easter this year.

I'd begun to think that maybe I was immune to it but clearly not. On the other hand, I feel justified in congratulating myself for having taken good enough precautions to stave it off so long - and remain grateful for the three vaccinations.

WoodLane7 Fri 19-Aug-22 20:21:56

I haven't had it officially
I had a cough last year I couldn't shift - tested negative but convinced I did actually have Covid

Jennyluck Fri 19-Aug-22 20:17:22

None of my family have had it till this week. We were beginning to think we were immune.
After all this time, my daughter got it first then my gs, now I’ve got.

Dianehillbilly1957 Fri 19-Aug-22 18:57:54

My OH, and my son and daughter and their children have had it very recently, my daughter and family living in Australia haven't as far as I know. I currently haven't had it, been in close contact with one or two that had it. I'll probably get it now!!!!

Jenh66 Fri 19-Aug-22 18:27:19

Neither I nor my husband have tested positive for covid. We'd test regularly when asked and now test if we are going to see vulnerable people.
Right from the beginning of March 2020, I said I was going to be immune and never get covid ☺️.
We have been and still are quite responsible but no more than we would be with any other virus

Yammy Fri 19-Aug-22 18:00:10

Silvertwigs Fri 19-Aug-22 17:51:44

Katek to my knowledge I’ve not had it, I work for NHS ambulance service so plenty of opportunities to have caught it!
