Do you wear a practical pinny about the house?

I always wear an apron when cooking but dont bother any other time

I do wear an apron when I am cooking. Saves splashing my nice clothes .I have a beautiful one covered in bees. I do remove before eating and just like Granny Gravy I sometimes drop food right down the front of my clothes. Ahhhhhh.

Never without my apron when cooking or doing messy chores. Saves me from stains on my pristine clothes every time!!!! Or hide my to when I don’t want to wear a bra ?

I wear one as I am always doing crafts or cooking. I always buy ones with a big pocket in the front, so that I can carry extra stuff. I keep it on for gardening too.
I have butchers type ones, pretty Cath Kidson ones, and vintage ones too.

Never worn one except as a child, didn't know you could even still buy them, a real blast from the past. Just seems like one extra thing to wash and iron.

My wife makes me wear a crossover patterned when when I do the housework etc.

I have pinnies in my old age! They're linen so not that practical but help when I liss my mouth, for drying my hands on and they have big pockets for putting stuff in as I potter!!

Apron for cooking and washing up only.

Seasalt do some brilliant big linen ones and I bought three on an offer. Navy, dark green and burgundy. they are brilliant for gardening or protecting clothes at mealtimes handicrafts anything. They even look o.k. on men. Nothing pretty about them. There is a big pocket in the front too.

Never had one, have never wore one.

I always wear one for cooking. My latest which I love was given to me on my seventieth birthday last year. It reads “ Made in 1951. 70 years of being totally awesome.” Makes me smile every time Iput it on.

I have a couple of butcher-type pinnies which I wear when cooking (saves oil and tomato stains on clothes)! I also wear them whilst doing mucky jobs like cleaning the oven, - wear rubber gloves for this too.

Yes especially when baking. A special one given by my grand daughters.

Absolutely do! Chefs type when cooking - I’m messy and it’s more hygienic ( always clean apron ). Also if I’m going out and have decent clothes on I’ll pop a housework one to do any necessary chores.

In the 1990s I always wore a tabard when cleaning but don't bother now unless I'm doing a messy job, when I either wear old clothes or a PVC apron
For cooking, I have a Tortini kitchen dress. It just clips on at the waist so is easy to pop on and off when needed (although they come in one size and I'm now a bit bigger than when I first got it!) www.tortini.com/product-category/kitchen-dress/

I have a variety of cook's aprons that I have either won in competitions or which came with other incidentals associated with holidays I have been on. I wear one when preparing meals and cooking. The evidence of spillages etc on it shows that using it is worthwhile!
Once it is on it tends to stay on until the evening, unless I go out. It doesn't worry me being seen wearing it when I go out to the bins or answer the door - if people find it strange to see a man in an apron (or indeed writing on a "Gransnet" forum) that's their problem, not mine!

Only when making a cake &even then, only if I remember. I'm a very messy baker & always seem to get spattered. My mother always wore an apron til lunchtime, right up to her death at 92. I tend to associate them with old ladies & of course, other people are old ladies, not me!

Always! I have done all my married life. It's my trade mark amongst my family and friends. They love to tease me about my pinnies.
I wouldn't be without one though .
They keep my clothes clean in so many circumstances ( I am a mucky pup ) and the pocket is used to collect detritus from around the house .

I only wear one when baking or possibly frying bacon and had been using my Mums old Ringtons Tea apron for years until DH got me a Bake Off Star Baker apron which I absolutely love as I’m a big Bake Off fan

I do use an apron sometimes whilst cooking, I have another for dog bathing (she is a very dirty dog and loves spraying water everywhere). But I was considering making some tabard style ones to protect clothes when cooking and doing jobs

I have a pristine unused one in my kitchen drawer.
