NHS emails

At least they are arriving before the appointment, not after the appointment, as was happening in our area, Auntieflo!

Texts, emails and letters all arrived - great. But all arrived after the appointments so appointments were missed, clinics were quiet and consultants puzzled.

I think mine is the same hospital asAuntieflo’s and DH and I have different experiences. I get one letter in a hand written envelope and he gets a series of emails without saying who he is to see. The latest is for the Respiratory Department so he doesn’t know if it is with the consultant or the physiotherapist. Basically doesn’t matter I suppose. He will find out when he gets there!

It's not all bad. DH has had texts reminding him of recent hospital and physio appointments about 4 days ahead, and although he hadn't forgotten any of them, they were useful as confirmation that the appointments were going ahead.

At least you get emails, Auntieflo. Our two local NHS trusts specialise in sending letters which arrive too late to be of any use. DW received two in one envelope (unusually efficient!) the other day, dated some ten days earlier, confirming two appointments at the hospital four days apart, one threatening the usual referral back to the GP if the appointment was not kept. The letters arrived the day after the second appointment.

And don't get me started on texts...

Yes I had a appointment other day and then I received one saying cancel I’m still getting them appointment should have being Tuesday lol I never used to get that many but lately I am just need the appointment and I will be happy being cancelled 3 times

And I had an appointment made for Audiology which was cancelled by them and I rebooked it but am being sent texts still about the previous appt.
Are their systems linked up?
