Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry cool start here in brackley this morning ,and plan an easy day in.
Last week I had a letter ,as regards to seeing a specialist , appointment yet to made , hoping I can the Hospital which is easier for me to get to .
Its seems she/he will advise on my medication ,and make changes if need be .
It seems having the look into my stomach has been scrapped if new medication or routine can work better.
Mind you , since I changed my own routine of when I take what I have , I have not collapsed or blacked out for over 12 weeks .
Take Care,
Mick

Sharon4068 I'm so sorry to hear that's happened to you and your granddaughter.
Please make your post again, maybe on Relationships or Ask a Gran as more people will see it there.

You could also put it on Mumsnet, in their Relationships section as there are a lot of knowledgeable people on there.

SunshineSally Mon 22-Aug-22 14:45:42

Hi Sharon4068 and welcome to Gransnet.

I can’t advise I’m afraid as I’ve not been in that situation- I would suggest that you copy and paste your post and start a new thread so that you can get direct responses - otherwise your post may be missed.

There is a very helpful thread where others are going through (or have been through and come out the other side) estrangement.

www.gransnet.com/forums/estrangement/1313811-Friendship-advice-and-support-if-estrangement-has-affected-your-life

On a personal note, I’m so sorry to read that your daughter died and hope that you are taking care of yourself - please accept my sincere condolences xx

dragonfly46 Mon 22-Aug-22 14:37:45

Oh Sharon your story it so sad. Please post again on the Ask a Gran thread where more people will read it and offer advice.

Jaxjacky Mon 22-Aug-22 14:35:58

Sharon4068 can I suggest you report this post asking HQ to move this to the estrangement thread? Someone there may be able to help you. I wish you luck.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. I’m hoping to find some advice on here if possible. I hope this is allowed.
My daughter sadly passed away in Feb leaving her 8 year old daughter (my grand daughter) and her husband. Her husband isn’t my grand daughter’s biological father and he hasn’t adopted her. Since my daughter’s death, he has stopped me from contacting my grand daughter, changed all phone numbers and blocked all social media. I don’t even know where they are now living, I think it’s somewhere down south. When I’ve spoken to the local children’s services, they have just advised me to get a special guardianship order through the courts. I applied to the court but they have just sent the form back saying I need legal advice on how to apply. I’m not in a position to pay for expensive legal costs but I am desperate to have some contact with my grand daughter.
My daughter died unexpectedly but she knew something was going to happen because she sent numerous messages and verbally asked me to look after her daughter if anything happened to her. He death is being investigated due to her being in a controlling and cohesive relationship with her husband.
Had anyone else been in this position and able to offer any advice because I’m just hitting brick walls everywhere I turn.
Thanks in advance.

Well that was a good walk with DDog … passed a house offering free cooking apples - a big box with a ‘help yourself’ sign! Well it would be rude not to ?. DH and I managed to fit 6 apples in our pockets so I’ve made an apple crumble ??.

Marydoll I used to have a yellow car and I loved it - always made me feel happy driving it as yellow is my favourite colour! Sadly I had someone go in the back of it at a roundabout - he also claimed not to have seen my car!! ?Hope you’re ok x

grandMattie - ooh damson jam, you can put me down for a jar please ?

hulahoop - Thank you ? I aim to be full of sunshine but sometimes known to be grumpy sally lol!

harrigran I do hope your back improves. Back pain is so debilitating x

blossoming - Good luck at the dentist today. I need to find an NHS dentist but sadly they’re like gold dust round here ?

JaxJacky - sadly the drizzle didn’t amount to much - but I live in hope for a good downpour as we were gardening yesterday … took a little trip to Haskins and treated ourselves! Of course it then meant we had to shift plants in the garden around!?

Gala - I love singing - though the dog always runs to me whenever I burst into song, I obviously sound like I’m in pain! ?

Greyduster - lol that did make me laugh. Reading to the Guinea pigs ?. Having said that, when we leave the dog on his own we ask Alexa to play ‘ calming music for dogs’ lol. It’s actually quite relaxing ? and has been known to send me off to sleep! ?

Urmonstongran You obviously have Himself well trained ?. Ooh I do love a well trained DH lol x

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Just realised that I hadn't read yesterdays Good Morning thread, after Church we went to our DD and SIL for lunch.
This morning I have made Mamade marmalade, but will join the queue for some of GrandMattie's damson jam. Delicious.
No rain here yet, but it looks a bit dull.
Glad you escaped from the car park unscathed Marydoll. I sometimes wonder whether our car has a cloak of invisibility, when you realise what other drivers are capable of.
Off to alter the waistband on a pair of summer trousers now.
Have a good day one and all.

A very late just about good morning. The sun is out and it is very warm again. I am so late because most the morning has been taken up trying to do an e consult to the GP. Got to the bit about phone number and to save time asked DH to read out my mobile phone number, he read it I tried, nothing. Eventually after many tries I realised he had given me the wrong number!! I just hope somebody comes back tomorrow as promised, we shall see. Tea later with an old friend who has spent her summer dealing with small GC, she adores them but at 77 will certainly need the tea and something else I should think.
Good wishes to all

Good Morning all from cloudy Harrogate.
Another one for your Damson Jam GrandMattie!
I finished my excellent book last night - The Four Winds, by Kristin Hannah, the 2nd book of hers that I've read. The first was 'The Nightingale' an excellent read, very exciting. I shall have to look for a 3rd book!
Glad the NHS are looking after you Mick, even if you've found the answer yourself!
What a fright for you Marydoll that would be enough to give me a heart attack!!!
Lovely photos BlueSapphire
To my knowledge I've never been to Speke Hall, must remedy that, it looks lovelyNannagarra
Today I shall be going on the Nidd Trail of Artists with a couple of friends. We are going to the very pretty town of Pateley Bridge. I'm looking forward to it!
Have the best day possible folks.

Good morning all from Glasgow where it is a cool 14deg. I took advantage of the sun suddenly appearing yesterday to hang out bed linen.

DD1 and both girls joined us in the garden for a visit after their Waitrose shopping. As DD has discovered the joy of gardening during the pandemic, she is always on the lookout for any cuttings we can spare, she left with three different clumps of sedum, easy for beginners. ?

Much love and best wishes to all for a good day ahead.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast. Hope your health remains stable Mick.
Tired after day trip to Stratford upon Avon yesterday but it was worth it, haven’t been for ages and this time followed a town trail and took in Shakespeare’s school and Guildhall. Asked to guess the age of a trunk, I said 1450 and it was 1470, so surprised myself there!
I grew up visiting Speke Hall Nannagarra, another lovely historic place.
Shakespeare statue.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 17°C. I’m glad you enjoyed your day out Mick.

I have a dentist appointment today, a routine check up. I’m not anticipating any problems. I’m another one who used to dread visits to the dentist after a bad experience. No more, my current dentist is lovely.

Have the best day possible all ???

Good morning from a grey NE where we have drizzle.
Walked to the postbox before 8am and it was mild. SIL reminded me that there are to be postal strikes so it was important to get a birthday card in the post today.
Family sent photos of them swimming in the sea in Wales yesterday, it looked a little cool for my liking but the young ones are more resilient.
SIL and I sorted out the wine cellar yesterday and I made a note of what we had, hopefully will stop me from making random purchases.
We prepared dinner together, lobster with mayonnaise and then duck breast in plum sauce served with courgette Provencal and green beans. We had a small glass of rose wine with the lobster and an Aloxe Corton with the duck, it was superb.
DD has arranged for parcels to be delivered here, it is her DH's birthday next week but she does not arrive in the UK until Thursday.
Quiet day for me as I have a painful back.

Jaxjacky Mon 22-Aug-22 08:45:54

Yesss SunshineSally just noticed the drizzle, I hope it changes to rain, for hours.
That made me laugh Greyduster ?
Yes please grandMattie jam is a rare treat, fancy that on a crumpet or two.

grandMattie Mon 22-Aug-22 08:39:36

Some of the jam…

Gala Mon 22-Aug-22 08:25:59

Good morning from a dull & grey but dry Sefton - despite the forecast of rain.
Dgd (aged 4) spent yesterday afternoon 'watering' the garden with a watering can almost as big as her & filling it from the water butt so that forecast rain is not quite as essential.

Singing group this morning. It is singing for pleasure for non singers - so very not a choir! But we all enjoy it. Singing is good for the soul (if not the ears in our case).

Wishing everyone a peaceful week.
