I’m originally from Derbyshire, my grandma was a great baker and made lardy cake but they were nothing like the ones talked of here. They were much more like what I now know as Chorley cakes, round and flat with fruit in and eaten buttered.

Lovely coffee sundae in town. Was so nice!

Too many bits of a Terry's chocolate orange bought to enter their competition.

I never eat breakfast - and ate out for lunch. Salad and frittata first course - then ice cream! Yum!

A big bag of salted popcorn all by myself. It was delicious.

Apple, celery and walnut slaw. Got carried away with the yellow stickers in M&S!

2 lamb samosas with mango chutney. I now have awful heartburn.

I love lardy cake. Sadly (or very fortunately!) I have never found a gf one. I used to buy them in Sainsbury's years ago. They were round - like a cake.

A small handful of almonds, as I have been sanding, filling sanding and painting all day.

I cook toasties at 200°C for 4 minutes each side. Makes them perfectly for me. I suppose all air fryers will have differences. Ours is a Ninja Foodi Max.

*Missdeke*, have you tried a cheese and golden syrup sandwich?
Our DS2 used to love it and converted our SIL.

Ooh, sounds interesting, will have to give that one a try. Thanks for the suggestion. grin

a fishfinger sandwich then a chocolate chip muffin

Macgran43 Fri 26-Aug-22 15:41:36

Plum crumble and ice cream. The plums on the tree are all ripe and ready. I’ve given bags away. A lovely legacy from my late husband who was a keen gardener. More plum crumble tomorrow for me.

I’m sitting in the kitchen gazing at a batch of home made Chelsea Buns, just out of the oven. I suspect that in about half an hour I’ll be posting again to report an empty plate !!

OK, so I made 12 Chelsea buns and an hour later there are three left !! My mum had one, DH had two and a visiting friend of DH ate three. You do the maths, but in my defence I did share one with the dog !!

Lizzie44 Fri 26-Aug-22 14:47:23

Shortbread finger biscuit with a cuppa having lost the argument with myself: "I don't need a biscuit", "I'd love a biscuit", "it's not good for me and I had 3 almond cantuccinis with my coffee this morning", "They were very small." "Oh I'll just have one finger"...

MaggsMcG Fri 26-Aug-22 14:29:56

Two portions of smoked haddock with Lurpak.

Tuna toastie made in our air fryer. Simply the best way to make a toastie. Delicious!

I've never yet made a decent toastie in my air fryer. They just seem to get hard on the outside. How do you do it please????

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 26-Aug-22 14:01:55

Bacon roll, yum! followed by homemade jam tart with ice cream!!

Fernhillnana Fri 26-Aug-22 13:57:55

Chips left over from fish and chips taken to an 84 year friend as a treat…

Who would believe two slices of toast with banana and marmite squashed between and no I won’t try it again. I love banana and ham however.

I absolutely love marmite and have tried it with lots of things - never banana though. I must admit I’m tempted !! One of my DH’s favourite sandwiches is sliced banana with plain salted crisps, on white bread.
