Judging by that description yours must be frogs.

Frogs have longer legs, hop and are green-er.
Toads have bumps are a tawny colour and crawl with shorter legs.

That's all I know!

Just looked it up. Froglets are slim and flecked. Toadlets are chunky and black.

How can I tell a froglet from a toadlet? There are dozens of tiny hoppers / crawlers in a gulley in a building that we are having altered and we are trying to rescue as many as possible, but I'd love to know if it's toads or frogs.They are about an inch long and greyish brown.
