Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry and twilight here in brackley this morning ,and the start of a bank holiday weekend .
Today , I receive my phone call from the hospital, they rang me once to see I still how the powders for stomach check .
Yet I feel better not having collapsed or anything in around 12 weeks plus altered the way I take my medication which I will explain on the phone , to be honest if my surgery did another blood test just to see if changes had occurred it might give a different situ.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a sunny East Midlands. The air is cool but there's no breeze to speak of.
New blind being fitted after lunchtime, apart from that nothing is planned specifically. Mr P brought in more tomatoes last evening after closing the greenhouse for the night, we have never had so much success.
Have the best day possible everyone, sending supporting thoughts for all those troubled by poor health or other matters.
Take care.

Good morning all. It is a bit musty here in N. Bucks at the moment.
Yesterday the rain stopped around midday so our canal trip was very pleasant. Cream tea and a very interesting commentary.
Happy Birthday Beechnut
Glad you are getting things sorted Mick.
Sorry about your cat*Ashcombe*.

A few bits and bobs to do this morning and then lunch with a couple of friends.
Later DD3s dog is coming to stay for the weekend.
Thinking of all who are I’ll or family that are.
Hope all can find a smile in your day.

Good morning from a bright South Yorkshire.

We had some welcome rain showers yesterday, but if the forecast is right, that’s it for almost a week. The hosepipe ban came in force today.

Glad you are feeling better in yourself, Mick and hope your phone call goes well. You probably already do this, but if not, maybe have a list of bullet points that you want to ask, so you don’t forget something you wanted to know.

Sad news about your cat Ashcombe, I hope you find him alive and well.

Wishing your daughter all the best, Chrissielou. ?

Happy birthday Beechnut ???.

Hope everyone has a good day. Take care.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 26-Aug-22 07:56:51

Happy Birthday Beechnut ???

Grandmadinosaur Fri 26-Aug-22 07:55:31

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire.

I do hope your cat turns up Ash my mum had a similar experience to Lll with one of her cats.

Had a lovely meet up with my friend yesterday and we talked of plans for outings together in the next few months. I also spent most of the day reading a book. I’ve nearly finished it. Most unheard of for me to nearly read a whole book in a day but the weather was awful so what's to do!

Got GS today. I think we are planning a trip to the coast as it is a much better day.

Happy Birthday Beechnut have a lovely day ???
Take care everyone.

Marydoll Fri 26-Aug-22 07:50:16

Happy birthday Beechnut. ?

BlueBalou Fri 26-Aug-22 07:49:40

Good morning everyone from sunny Wiltshire, I had a lovely DDog walk this morning, the views across the valleys were beautiful.
How worrying and sad Ash ?
Yesterday’s walk was wet, we had drizzle all morning yet it wasn’t forecasted! I cleared the ironing pile and cleaned through yesterday so on with shifting everything downstairs today. DH is at DD’s for the week, he’s sent a strange message this morning so I suspect he won’t be here for carpets being laid ?
Never mind, I will as my lovely neighbour’s son if he can help me.
Hope you enjoy your day x

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 26-Aug-22 07:49:25

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
A thoughtful act for your friend Grandmattie
Your poor puddycat Ashcombe
Happy birthday ? Beechnut
I’m glad your are being taken seriously by the NHS Mick you’ll be sorted soon.
Yesterday we took a load of stuff to the tip and had a good zoom chat to my sisters. I also did a bit more painting in the kitchen. I’ve no intention of finishing it, but we shall be having a blind put in, and I want the clock and calendar back up. Today I have to do a little painting round DHs window.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and very grey. There's been a light rain earlier. Ashcombe that's such sad news. Your poor cat. glammagran the photos look very interesting. Happy birthday to Beechnut thank you to Urms for the prompt.
Yesterday was a lovely day of babysitting. Dgs2 was as good as gold. Mayhem followed when dd arrived with dgs1 from nursery! He's such a live wire.
Today will be a much quieter day. I'm doing a food shop at Aldi and pottering around. I'm working up to cleaning out the kitchen cupboards next week when the family are away on holiday. Whatever you do, have a good day.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Straight after breakfast I will finish off the Barmbrack I started last night. Dried fruit has been soaking overnight in tea and whiskey. I also need to sort out the bedroom for younger son who is coming to stay for a few days tomorrow. I saw him recently when we went to the Summer Exhibition in London, but OH hasn’t seen him in ages. The last time he came home he had a massive clear out of his old room which led to several trips to various charity shops! I am so sorry to hear about your cat, Ash. You never know, he may just be hiding. A friend’s cat disappeared for two weeks when it was startled and was discovered absolutely fine, although very hungry, in a shed.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

It rained all morning on our walk yesterday, much needed though. We were all soaking wet, but still enjoyed it. In the afternoon it was very sunny, and MrJ and his DD went on a bike ride. Whilst I did some housework. She is off home today.

u3a walking group this morning, hopefully it will be drier today.

So sorry about your lovely cat Ashcombe, I hope you find him alive.

Wishing you all a lovely day and BH weekend.

Jaxjacky Fri 26-Aug-22 07:43:44

Happy Birthday Beechnut enjoy your special day ???

Jaxjacky Fri 26-Aug-22 07:41:13

Good morning all from sun in S Hampshire, we too had a good few hours of rain yesterday. I’d have willingly shared gMattie, what a difficult decision for you, but very wise and measured for your friend.
Ashcombe sad news for your French arrival.
Busy day on the phones yesterday leaving some sorting out for today organising lifts for people. I also have cooking and baking for family visiting tomorrow, one of those rare times I wish I had an extra fridge.
Bowls this evening, we’re coming towards the end of the outdoor, moving indoors from October.
Wishing you all your best day, thoughts with those struggling, with themselves or family members ??

Chrissielou Fri 26-Aug-22 07:39:58

A beautiful start here in Oxfordshire, a long weekend to look forward to is a bonus. Yesterday marked the end of DD1's chemotherapy, she has a scan followed by results with the consultant coming up but in the meantime, she can begin the physical and emotional recovery. It's been a hard journey but I can start to believe she will get well again now and rebuild her life, a hard 2 years for her, divorce and then cancer.
Sainsburys delivery shortly, then play with my new 5in1 air fryer. smile

Ash I'm so sorry to hear about your lovely cat.

glammagran Fri 26-Aug-22 07:37:36

Only 2 days left now on our cruise. We are currently off NW Portugal and will shortly enter the Bay of Biscay. It’s been quite a bumpy night as it is. High drama at 7:30pm on Wednesday when a helicopter was sent to evacuate a sick passenger a couple of hours after we left Cadiz. This meant evacuating cabins and public areas at the front of the ship. The whole operation took 40 minutes. This is the second time on a cruise we’ve been on this has happened.

Cadiz and Jerez are lovely places to visit. We went on a tour around the very old and beautiful facility which produces sherry and brandy. Palermo by contrast was filthy with rubbish strewn streets everywhere. Sorry to all Gransnetters who love Italy but I don’t think it’s my favourite place to go.

Photos are of Jerez sherry place

Hope you all have a good day

Good morning from a dry Sefton - cloudy but blue bits struggling through.

Bed changing, washing then Pilates this morning. Some gardening this afternoon to try & rectify Mr G's less than helpful spot of 'gardening' yesterday.

So sad that you may have lost that lovely ginger tom Ash.

Take care & hoping everyone has the best day possible.

harrigran Fri 26-Aug-22 07:31:50

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Looked out of the window to check the weather and I see my neighbour has already departed for her holiday, she takes herself off to the isle of Lewis every year. She will be staying in Uig tonight ready for the ferry tomorrow morning.
I had a message from GD1 to say that she passed all her exams and got the grades she needs to go on to sixth form College to study art. She was at an excellent independent girls school but they did not have a syllabus to cover what she wants to do.
Yesterday I went through the study cupboards and got rid of a lot of paperwork, DH used to photo copy every letter and file them with the original hmm
I spent so long in the study it was too late to start cooking a proper meal so I decided to saute some baby potatoes left from the previous night, a small portion of leeks in a cheese sauce and topped with a fried egg. I did enjoy it, can't remember the last time I had a fried egg.
DD made it to the UK from Brussels with only a 35 minute delay on the train, pleased about that because there have been problems in the last week.
Sorry to hear about your cat Ashcombe, stress is not good for them at that age.
Enjoy the Bank holiday weekend.

Beechnut Fri 26-Aug-22 07:30:27

Good morning from Severnside where we have fluffy clouds and sunshine for my birthday.
Beechnutella and her fella are coming later today and we are going out for a meal. That’s two meals out for me in six days. I might get used to this ?

That is sad Ash. I do hope that you find him whatever the outcome. It’s a tough time for you Mattie.

As it’s a bank holiday weekend I’ve done my usual treat to myself and bought an extra magazine and a book to read.

Have a good day all ???

Marydoll Fri 26-Aug-22 07:22:11

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, with rain forecast.
GM, what difficult and sad situation for you.
Ash, glad to hear that you arrived safely, sorry to hear about your cat.

I have nothing much planned for today, apart from a trip to LIDL
DH is golfing, so I shall have to curtail my shopping, as DH usually carries the bags and my joints have seized up, due to my suspended RA medication.
My main reason for going is to go next door to the Range ( Pants ) to find a frame to match one I already have.
I have been given a beautiful print of the Forth Rail Bridge, because my family all know I am fascinated by it. I cannot explain, what it is about it.
When I feel a bit better, DH has promised to take me for a visit.
I have travelled over it on the Flying Scotsmen, but feel a great desire to stand underneath it.
Another item on my bucket list.?

Yesterday turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant day.
Out of the blue, I received a call from a friend, I was delighted, to say the least, as we hadn't spoken for ages.
Then, while I was resting dozing in the conservatory, the Ebay Queen appeared. DH let her in, because I hadn't heard the doorbell. I wonder why??
She said, she thought I deserved a treat, which turned out to be fudge, a favourite of mine!

Finally, after a few false starts, I finished off the ice cream in my new ice cream maker.
The raspberry wouldn't all fit in the tub, so I was forced to eat it ( just before lunch, tut, tut!!). As Dollie would say: Oh man, it awesome!!!!
I don't usually boast about what I make, but I'm making an exception here! ?
I also started the prep for Dollie's mint, choc chip, it tastes fabulous, but I couldn't get it to thicken. I will need to investigate ?️‍♀️ why. ?

I hope the poorly DDs are not suffering too much, such a difficult journey for them and their families.
My best wishes to all, who are struggling and I hope Harri is ok.
Enjoy your day folks.

PS, Kalu, could you please check your phone. I have sent you a message.

Urmstongran Fri 26-Aug-22 07:21:58

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from a gloriously sunny Malaga ?
We are very much enjoying our ‘chill time’ on our own with no calls on our time. We plan a stroll into Torremolinos today with a tapas lunch. It’s just under 4 miles there so we may get the train back!

Happy birthday to you Beechnut ? ???

GrannyGravy13 Fri 26-Aug-22 07:17:19

Morning Mick and all

Blue sky here in S E Essex, I anticipate a busy busy day as we have four GSs here today. The teens are still asleep and we are waiting for the 7yr old and The Imp to arrive.

Oh Ashcombe how sad, I do,hope he is just hiding.

grandMattie your poor friend ?

Wishing you all your best day, whatever your circumstances ??‍♀️

Georgesgran Fri 26-Aug-22 07:06:33

Good morning from Malaga, where DD2 and I are packed and ready for our flight back to the UK. Her DH wasn’t well yesterday and had to ask his DF to help with the little one, so I think she’s quite anxious to get home. We anticipate a problem with the airport car park, hope it’s easily sorted.
?Ash - that’s sad.
Best wishes to all for the long BH weekend. X

monk08 Fri 26-Aug-22 06:56:16

Good morning all from the Black country, it looks a better start to the day some blue sky. Yesterday it rained all day until early evening, would love to send some your way grandMattie.
Glad you arrived safe Ash but such a sad homecoming ?.
We are out for the day with the boys today no plans where to go will decide when we pick them up.
Will catch up later tablet needs charging.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some ?.

grandMattie Fri 26-Aug-22 06:40:56

Oh, Ash, how sad for you both. Hugs..

Ashcombe Fri 26-Aug-22 06:29:40

Good morning from our cloudy (so far) part of la Sarthe.

It’s good to hear you’re feeling better, Mick and what a sad predicament for you, grandMattie but you are acting with your usual wisdom and compassion.

A smooth crossing followed by being the fourth car to disembark gave us a head start on negotiating the Péripherique around Caen yesterday. Within two hours we were home to find a neatly tended garden. Sadly this has come at a price.

Our gardener, who also feeds the two cats, brought a chap to help to get the large lawn in shape. His exuberant dog chased our elderly ginger tom cat which hasn’t been seen since. We think he took refuge in the barn so today we shall tackle the pile of boxes and other accumulated junk under which we expect to find his body. ? He was seventeen and a very knowing animal who was our favourite.

I hope today is kind to all. RIP, Cooper. ? The picture shows him with his sister, Lola.
