I don’t read the articles but see the headlines, the poor couple must be seriously damaged by the constant attention and criticism they are receiving.

I’m not a fan but enough is enough surely!

If you stick your head above the parapet, you can’t complain about the comeback and these podcasts do just that.
Having Republican tendencies, I now see the RF as a soap opera and I get my money’s worth viewing their ups and downs. It’s worth the money as I don’t watch Eastenders or Coronation Street..
There’s bad blood in them there Spencers, and by association, Meghan.

Every time she speaks it becomes clearer what an arch manipulator she is. Superficially those seem to be the words of an innocent bystander, but underneath is a dangerous and unsettling threat to the RF.

The real threat to the RF is not MM but the fact that in the 21st century they are becoming an anachronism as far as many are concerned. When The Firm eventually disbands, MM will have had little to none influence on their downfall. In fact this "arch manipulator" has - if anything - shored up support for the royal family for a long time to come.

Very cruel and manipulative and I for one would struggle to believe anything she has to say, if I could be bothered to read it in the first place.

What on earth is the point of it all? Really - just why?
Move on.

She 'threatens' the RF but without saying it openly which is both disturbing and fascinating at the same time. She hints at damaging revelations which she knows will unsettle them and cause anxiety. It's so cruel and manipulative. Harry seems to be a willing participant which is even more astonishing.

Maybe people should read all these posts and think twice posting about M&H when they feel like" livening things up". Although they haven't read most of the articles themselves that are appearing in Newspapers to sell copy.

I 'm finding the war going on on FB so annoying, when all I want to do is chat to my family, Page after page of Sussex and Cambridge acolytes cooing about their royal icons, and slapping the other team down. I did ask someone who was raging on about how the Brits are so racist, and how they used the n word about the Sussex kids, to elaborate who/what publication had said that, and what evidence do they have that this was actually said. I was met with a torrent of abuse accusing me of being a racist troll and a hater, and I was erased from the comments. Really nasty and hateful language, Is that the bullying you had in mind?

If someone on FB hurls abuse at you - just block them. They will then no longer be able to see anything you post, nor view your profile - and the same will apply the other way round.

If you don't want to see reams of comments about the couple, don't engage with those that make them, as the more you do the more your feed will fill up with articles relating to them.

You have options you can use to create the environment in which you just chat to your family. You can hide your profile from all but those who you wish to see it. Don't join in the melee by responding to it. Basically, just disengage.

It seems like you were abused / bullied, but you can prevent it from happening again... it's always a shock when you realise how far people will go on FB to insult you.

As for M&H - the media have got the couple firmly as a bit between their teeth and like the horse, they will continue to chomp on it. Every negative editorial / story will generate another 6 more feeding the nation's seeming obsession with the royal family and its activities. We (that's the collective 'we') are are now even delving back into Diana's 'reign' - even dredging up Edward and Mrs Simpson, because of the interest in M&H. It's going to be a long-running soap opera to rival Eastenders - unless someone else / something else / a major catastrophe diverts our attention, and the media sticks its head round the door and finds there's no one in the room still interested in the M&H saga.

Now it seems Meghan has 'discovered' a diary that she expects us to believe she had forgotten about. Meghan told the interviewer: You go back and you open drawers and you're like, Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there?

Every time she speaks it becomes clearer what an arch manipulator she is. Superficially those seem to be the words of an innocent bystander, but underneath is a dangerous and unsettling threat to the RF.

This is what makes it obvious she is pulling the strings and that Harry is just a puppet in this horrible power game she is playing.

I frequently find things I had forgotten I'd written. It isn't about finding the diary it's about reading what you wrote down at the time and comparing that with what you remember which may be two completely different things.

Volver I do read the full articles when it comes to matters of importance.

I’m not the slightest bit interested in this couple and wish the media would stop giving them print and air time. That way they can have the privacy they say they want. Unfortunately they seem to have to make controversial statements about ‘their truth’ to continue their mega million income.

Here's a tip BoadiceaJones. Unfriend those people you don't want to hear from and don't follow people posting about M&H. And don't engage with anyone you don't want to. Hide posts that you don't want to see.

Then, chat to your family.

Sago The title of your thread is misleading ... should have read the article before posting!

it was about William telling Harry The bullying by meghan had to stop.

it firmly blames “the behaviour of Meghan for being at the heart of the break-up between William and Harry.” and airs claims that the Duchess of Sussex, 41, used her position in the Royal Family to bully and intimidate staff while living in Kensington Palace, with Harry, 37.

Meghan aside, a lot of the problems we have in this country today are down to the attitude "I don’t read the articles, the headlines are enough!"

TillyWhiz Wed 31-Aug-22 07:33:04

Like mother like son (and wife)

It all reminds me of the Diana days.

Sago Wed 31-Aug-22 06:26:39

OPhere I started this thread some days ago to liven things up a bit.
I don’t read the articles, the headlines are enough!
However I think this sums her up;

EXCLUSIVE 'Overcoming 60 years of apartheid is not the same as marrying a white prince': Nelson Mandela's grandson slams Meghan Markle for suggesting South Africans celebrated her wedding the same way they rejoiced his freedom.

I haven't ploughed through all 14 pages of Gransnet responses on this so forgive me if I've duplicated anything. This is how I see the reason for the Sussexes return to Blighty. Prince Harry once again wants (and I quote) 'to ensure that his Grandmother has the right people around her and is being looked after by the right people' or some such nonsense he came out with at his earlier fleeting visit. I would hazard a guess that he is trying to keep the lines of communication open and friendlyish as he (and more likely her) want to make sure he is still in her will. Meghan has had the whiff of money and will cunningly ensure he (and by association she) don't miss out. I hope the Queen has altered her will to reflect their unkind and hurtful behaviour. He who laughs last and all that......

I agree with ^^ you. I fervently hope they get zero from queenie's will as they have caused so much trouble, especially Megsie with her lies. I'm not a monarchist but as we have one they have to be quiet dignified people, not screechy types trying to be top dog. Meganuts even caused the Archbishop stress with her lies, he had to tell the queen that no marriage took place in a garden, you couldn't make it up

and now ..surprise surprise she gets more of what she wants ...HA HA PRIVACY ?????? no way does she want THAT ..imagine if no one read her rubbish, or commented endlessly on what she says or thinks ...........hopefully she would then go away and stay away and STOP courting more and more publicity only fuelled by all our comments ..she achieves what she wants ......lets all totally IGNORE her...and that goes for all the media, the public and anyone else who influences opinion ......she must be LOVING it !

My goodness, that's a lot of ellipses!

Today I listened to What did dinosaurs sound like on the Unexplainable podcast. It was fascinating.

I have read so much nastiness on various posts on gransnet over the past year or two about Harry and Meghan. It can all be considered bullying. Maybe some of you should think before you type....

Didn't you know? Its not bullying as they will never read it.

That's what I have learned on these threads.

Bullying requires contact between two people, the bully who uses their strength or power to hurt or intimidate the victim. The gossip on this website is just people's opinions and in no way is it bullying. And judging by the comments here it seems Meghan is not held in very high regard!

Glorianny Tue 30-Aug-22 23:16:54

She's ambitious as well though!
The noble Brutus
Hath told you Caesar was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Caesar answer’d it^.

It just gets better...

She's not black enough.

I just keep dropping in on this thread and it's worth it every time.

happycatholicwife1 Tue 30-Aug-22 20:19:20

Spot on, Yammy. As for her being black, that may be a genetic fact but my features look blacker than hers and her skin is not particularly dark. Her behavior is more like that of a duchess than of someone in modern Black culture. I never really thought of her as black, except for her non-stop talking about it. I doubt that the British people you her as black per se. She strikes me as someone who wants to have the ability to cloak herself in her blackness when she needs it and drop it when she does not. She also strikes me as very, very ambitious and controlling. But having to have them lolling around over here! Too bad she couldn't have taken her 7,000 square foot floating yoga floor with her or donated it, at the very least, to some women's center.
