I know there is already a Good morning thread and I am not trying to divert that.

This is purely a Good morning everyone from me to you all and I hope you all have a lovely Sunday. X

Hello Serendipity! I hope that you had a good night.
I think that Grannmarie was recommending eating rabbit in Malta (shock)
My main job today is taking the cat to the vets for her boosters and a check up.
The last time I took her to that particular branch of the vets, she actually got thrown out for bad behaviour.
They phoned me and I had to collect her.
How is your Cat in Law doing?
I hope that he’s comfortable, poor little thing.

Ohhhhhh hello Fanny

Well! What a carry on I had lastnight as I was shimmering and swinging my hips about, I fell head first into the goat stew and emerged with eye balls dangling from my yashmack!!! Ohhhh terrible, terrible, spoilt the whole evenings of shenanigans.. ( hahahaha )

On a serious note, I do hope all goes well for your cats booster and hope to goodness she isn't thrown out this time! Heck !

You ask about my own cat ( well, if everyone had their own feline friend he was my DD ) I have sad news, he has gone. Had to take him to the vets as the cancer on his paw was getting worse. We have request a cremation and then we are having a little ceremony here at home and placing him under the bush in the front garden as that is where he ventured to, thank you for asking. Didn't think I would affected as I have, its surprised me.

Right, goat stew washed off, eye balls thrown over the hedge and now I must get back to shimmering and swinging these hips around the Arabian Gazibo .....

smile ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

I’m going to mention our owls now (apologies, I mention them at any opportunity).
They exclusively ate rabbit (‘from Sainsburys’ - just like Chas n Dave ?)
My mom bought bags of the stuff for them over the years.
I don’t know if she ever told the cashiers what (or who) it was for… ?

Aldom Tue 30-Aug-22 08:24:54

Serendipity hi smile. There are lots of restaurants in different towns in Malta where you can eat rabbit. It's a local delicacy. Do you like rabbit? Perhaps you could Google to see if there's somewhere in Selina where rabbit is served. winesmile

Thank you, Grandmafrench, how lovely to see you again! ?

Well, it's SW Scotland ??????? and 21 degrees, so that's paddling weather for me! Sunhat, factor 30 and flipflops!!!
Not quite your temperatures in French France ??, but we had a lovely afternoon.

Serendipity, enjoy Malta, I hope you and your DH have a wonderful time. I can recommend the rabbit....no, seriously, it is a local delicacy, we had it on our last night, delicious.

I will look out for 'The Rabbit'...... hahaha.

We staying in Selina, is 'The Rabbit' near there?

Thank you ?

Good evening from a very warm part of la Sarthe where I'm enjoying a few weeks at my husband's main home. (long story - ours is a semi-detached marriage, which works for us!)

Lovely to read contributions from folk whose names I recognise from the GM daily one and some new ones. Nearly time for bed here due to the hour's difference!

Squiffy

Thank you Aldom, no HB here, but I’ll check out Wilko!

merlotgran the tomatoes made me laugh. Very cheerful.

I’ve been wearing odd earrings for years. I can usually get an earring easily in one ear if I feel I need to look more groomed but increasingly I just can’t be bothered. The other ear has always been more difficult so now I just leave a stud earring in it all the time. I’m either very trendy or people think the poor old lady has forgotten to put one earring in. And I don’t care.grin

Good old Wilko. I used to shop in the Shrewsbury one when I lived there. I'm too far away from the Oxford Wilko. Lovely earrings merlotgran and I like the human tomatoes grin

Good evening everyone. With nothing better to do whilst keeping an eye on the passata bubbling away I decorated some misshapen tomatoes…I know, I know.

Went to a craft fayre this morning and bought some dangly earrings so will try very hard not to lose one. I suppose I could start a fashion trend of mismatched earrings. I’ve got dozens!

Have a good evening everyone.

I love Malta especially Valletta.

Serendipity22 Mon 29-Aug-22 20:21:27

Squiffy

Aldom Could you, please, tell me what bug spray you used? I could do with it here and, if it deals with powdery mildew as well, it sounds perfect! Thanks!

Hi Squiffy this is the spray I use. It costs £3.49 from Home Bargains.
Many other brands available too, but this works well.

Hello serendipty et al. Good evening that should be. Nothing interesting to report but I did see my GS just home from a wonderful holiday in Canada. It sounds a great place with lakes, rivers and black bears. Not enjoying the darker evenings but I know they had to come. Just about to eat a lovely M&S creamy meringue. Good evening to you all.

Lovely photos. Have a wonderful time, Granmarie.
Oh those beautiful dogs.......?

Aldom Mon 29-Aug-22 19:39:09

Good evening folks. What a lovely cheerful thread for an August Bank Holiday Monday. I trotted out this afternoon to buy the bug spray. It also treats powdery mildew, so I've sprayed a plant suffering from that. Also did some cutting back in the garden. The bees are still busy on the lavender though. smile
Bye for now Serendipity and all.

Serendipity22 Mon 29-Aug-22 19:31:47

Awwwww Grandmafrench positive vibes are ringing out ... wooooonderful.

You say its hot hot hot 36°..... is the clue of your whereabouts in your name? We go Malta next week, Mr Google has been extremely busy, I'm not very enamoured with his replies ..... I'm looking at 30°+ ..... but I'm turning it around and saying to myself BE THANKFUL YOU CAN AFFORD A HOLIDAY MRS S.

I am laid on the sofa awaiting my Monday viewing - Coronation Street.

smile

I am having a wonderful weekend, spent the whole of Saturday at a wedding celebration with most of our extended family, many of whom I hadn’t seen for 2 years. I love them all to pieces, and I got to meet my 5-month-old great nephew for the first time. Life really doesn’t get much better smile

Grannmarie Mon 29-Aug-22 19:07:33

Good afternoon, Serendipity and all!?

We are on holiday at the moment, we had a picnic at the beach and I had a wee paddle in the sea! We've had a lovely
afternoon. ?
I hope everyone is having the best afternoon/ evening possible. ?

Mollygo Mon 29-Aug-22 18:19:19

Good afternoon -although it’s almost evening. We walked Milly further than we thought this afternoon. Thank heavens for a café with water bowls for dogs.
Now we’re all taking a well earned rest.

Grandmafrench Mon 29-Aug-22 18:05:46

Hello Yia, fancy seeing you here. Muse too - bet it's not as hot in Cornish Cornwall as it is here. Today I have roasted - largely because the sun and the wind disappeared mid-afternoon. 36 degrees, but I do have crisp white laundry to iron, a nicely cut lawn to water (DH!) and the pool has been jet washed due to a massive infiltration of algae. Heat this year has been ridiculous! So, an active day if a rather uncomfortable one. I'm looking forward to my Gin & Tonic, supper and feet up.

You never said how the excursion went, Fanny. Do hope you didn't overdo things. However, reading recently about Mary Berry's hip/knee (?) op' experience, it seems that you get severely punished for not taking regular exercise, so you're probably between a rock and a hard place. Whatever else happened, we hope to hear that Gracie triumphed!

I, for one, am hoping that with a sort of anytime thread - afternoons for those of us who'd prefer that - we might catch some of the many souls who often admit to lurking and not posting. Come on, everyone, it's your big chance to meet some new people and share some stories and some of your lives. No arguments, no sniping, just nice people.
Have the best evening, whatever you're doing.

We had a dog walk too & this is the result!
