Good Afternoon All
How lovely to see you Batty - with five minutes to type after all that Toddler Minding! Know it's your favourite job and you're so very good at it - but it probably doesn't get any less tiring. Sorry to hear about your cat, Serendip, that's news of 2 this week after Ash's lovely marmalade boy died in France. If I think of the numbers of cats I've had, how different, what fun and exploits - as well as the low down tricks I've had to learn in order to get the cooperation of the little blighters for Vets' visits, worming, tablet taking, even bathing. Yes, I've done that when necessary and you need nerves of steel!!!!! As our Vet always says 'with cats, you get just the one chance". He's so right.
All Day Breakfast sounds just the title for this new thread. Well done Urms of The Fuchsia Sandals.
Wonderful day again here - if you like hot sunshine. I would imagine that most of the UK is thoroughly sick of hot weather after this summer and the lack of rain. I know that I've rather rashly tried to grow some of my favourite plants here and won't be doing that again. It's not simply watering and feeding, it's like having plants in the ICU. I can't turn my back without them throwing a wobbly or staging a fit of the vapours, lying down on the job or simply shrivelling. A re-think will be required before next year. Love roses, but burnt ones are not my thing, so they will have to be re-homed.
My only stop press, news of the day, is that in speaking to my UK Optician this morning to thank him for sending my glasses with re-fitted lenses, he told me of his weekend treat. Someone threw a brick (without much success) at his shop window. They (there were two of them) then, seriously, used a fishing rod - just like at a funfair - through the letter box, to hook some expensive frames off a display. He is a man who looks for humour in almost any situation but he was a bit miffed to hear, after contacting the local Police with details of the crime, security camera photos of both thieves, and even their addresses because he recognised them, that no, the Police weren't able to go to their homes and 'have a word'. They are, apparently, far too busy. He has accepted that crime does in fact pay, and decided that in his next life he will return as an Anarchist - more fun, better hours.
Have a super afternoon, everyone, especially if you're doing nothing but there is nothing to distract you from doing just what you want!
