If Craig Charles popped in and offered to do the disco, well I’d be over the moon.

Sorry Doodledog, I've just seen you mentioned Keanu.

He's such a lovely man, so very kind and has experienced great sadness in his life.

I'd be happy if I bumped into him

The very gracious Keanu Reeves ended up at someone's wedding recently.

He didn't force himself in the party but they were eager to see him and he posed for photos

I think it would depend on the celebrity if I'd be pleased or not!

Same here foxie48 - really haven't a clue about the 'celebs' and so a surprise drop-in would be embarrassing all round.

We had a lovely day with our friends and family, and my mum was the superstar of the day as she arranged it all!

Is this about the Keanu Reeves thing? I don't think I'd have minded, but it's an odd thing to do - apparently he has done it a couple of times before.

I remember seeing a film of someone who had a huge crush on Gary Barlow and friends arranged for him to drop in on her wedding. He sang to her, and she looked so starstruck that I felt really bad for her new husband.

I'm with you foxie!

Probably not unless they were someone that we particularly admired. Like some others I doubt if I would recognise them anyway.

We saw several celebrities at venues where we took the photographs. Most were lovely ,congratulated the Bride and Groom and posed for a photo with them. Two who were extra nice were Tony Bennet and Cher .Our couples were delighted to have their photo with superstars and the stars were not intrusive

As a bride in the 1960's, arriving at the hotel for our wedding reception I recognised a well known, female singer sitting in the bar. But.... I've completely forgotten who she was grin

Aveline Fri 02-Sept-22 15:05:51

Certainly not. Unless I knew them and they were invited of course. Actually, all our guests were celebrities to us!

One was shown in a wedding photograph doing this on the television today. The bedraggled star said he couldn’t stay for a drink as he has just come off a long haul flight.

Jaxjacky Fri 02-Sept-22 15:01:13

It would depend who it was; tbh, if they were up for a drink and a dance I don’t think we’d have minded.

I agree with foxie I doubt if I would have recognised anybody which may be embarrassing for the so-called celebrity whereas I would not have cared less.

foxie48

I probably wouldn't recognise them and might have thought they were with the caterers.

Same here foxie48 I'm hopeless with celebrities. I suppose it would depend a great deal on who it was though.

No thanks

nanna8 Fri 02-Sept-22 14:23:06

No! Absolutely not unless they happened to be a close friend.

Squiffy Fri 02-Sept-22 14:20:42

I’ll probably come across as po faced, but I wouldn’t be happy because it could compromise the seriousness of the ceremony.

mokryna Fri 02-Sept-22 14:09:46

It was your and your husband’s special day to be remembered, at the time.

Would you have liked a very famous celebrity to have dropped in, taken the attention away from you both?

If so who or do you think it’s cheeky of them?

I feel it was our day and wouldn’t have liked to have seen anybody that wasn’t invited.
