Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight but dry here in brackley at the moment.
Today , I have to be careful as to what medication I can have prior to having Endopsy done in hospital .
My sister is coming to stay in the guest room and taking me for the check up and bringing me home .
She has had it done so is aware , the hospital have asked me to bring some sandwiches to have after plus I have some glucose tablets as well to regain energy after it.
Take Care,
Mick

We’ve had a very busy week since returning from our cruise last Sunday on our return home we were amazed to see our living room had been decorated with balloons etc and gifts left for our 40th wedding anniversary. DGD3’s 4th birthday party on Monday, DGS2 all day Tuesday, 7 machine loads of washing, DGD3 on Thursday pm, and our new sofa was delivered on Friday followed 2 hours later by the sale of the old one. Timing could not have been better.

It goes without saying DGS2 was ill again with a temp of 40c on Monday during the party and was very grouchy but had improved on Tuesday. We haven’t been feeling all that well since leaving the ship. There were a few Covid cases on board. Tested 3 times this week but always negative.

It was DGD3’s first day of school on Friday which she loved. On Saturday she went into her parents bedroom very early having put her school uniform on and asked to be taken into school. ? . She is very small for her age - her 16 month old brother is only 2 shoe sizes behind her. Last week she was still only 3. It is also DGS1’s first day at his secondary school today.

Thinking of your most terrible year GrandMattie and what a triumph for Iris. ?

Thunderstorm late last night. Good wishes to you all and have a good day.

For those thinking about an air fryer, go for it!
DD bought me a small one from Asda a few years ago, then I progressed to a bigger one, which I loved.
I now have a multifunction NINJA, which is constantly being used. I must have saved a fortune, as I hardly use my grill or oven now and so much healthier.

Good morning from a lovely sunny Sefton. Ground is still wet so there may have been a bit more rain overnight.
An uninterrupted night's sleep - bliss - after all the dog barking & cock crowing of the last few nights. We enjoyed looking round Saltaire, a world heritage site & what must be a unique example of a Victorian model village. Amazingly still intact & normal life continues there. I overdosed on David Hockney's body of work that is exhibited in Salts Mill climbing 4 flights of stairs, twice, to get to it. Phew. ?

Singing this morning for our little group of 'non singers'. And a bit of gardening this afternoon. Need to repot my fig tree.... well it's more of a fig bush but still productive. It has to stay in a pot as there is nowhere to plant it in soil. Hope I don't kill it off.

Take care & have the best day you can.

Good morning from a bright and sunny East Midlands. We. had some thunder during the night and I suspect a short, but heavy, downfall of rain. I have some late broad bean plants in the garden which will need staking today - the rain has push them over a little.
Good luck to all those GC starting back to school or facing their very first day in school today.
Thinking of all those facing their own challenges too today.
Have the best day possible everyone and take care in all you do.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. We've had a bit of overnight rain but I wasn't wakened by forecast thunder.
I can hear the chatter of happy parents as it's return to school day here. I've already received photos of my DGSs in their uniforms.
I shall venture into the City centre (5 minute walk) and browse the quiet shops. But first I need to try to renegotiate my broadband contract as they have raised the price by a horrendous amount.
Love to all ? x

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a blue skied Hull. DH asked me if I heard the torrential rain in the night but I didn’t.

Mick hope your procedure goes well. I’ve had 3 endoscopies all with spray but if I had another I would definitely be sedated.

Safe journey home today grandMattie

Kitty little Wolfie made me smile what a cutie pleased he’s better.

BlueBalou my DH put up IKEA office furniture and managed to do it wrong and the front of his desk has photo frames of the grandchildren covering up wrong screw holes?

We had DD and GDs over yesterday. GD1 helped me pick veg from the garden insisting on cutting the leaf tops off the beetroot herself while I tried to keep my fingers out of the way. She chased the frogs around the frog pool telling them how cute they both are.
Baby B is sitting up now and she is doing baby led weaning so enjoyed her carrot sticks and broccoli from the Sunday lunch.
Today is zoom yoga and then a lot of dust removal is needed. Housework has taken a bit of a back seat during the summer holidays.

Enjoy your day everyone if you can. Thoughts to those feeling under the weather today??

HAZBEEN Mon 05-Sept-22 08:02:22

Good morning all! I missed yesterday! We had unexpected overnight guests on Saturday night so yesterday was chaotic! There were 5 of us in our little 1 bed flat so no chance of a quiet 5 minutes to post here, thank goodness its back to normal now just the aftermath to clean up!
Its going to be a busy day.
Hugs to those in need, congrats to any celebrating and keep on keeping on to everyone!

Good morning from a sunny Black Country, where it rained overnight.

Monday walk this morning. MrJ has a dental appointment as a filling fell out last week.

I am thinking of buying an Air Fryer Gingster but overwhelmed by the choice, and deciding which one.

Your photo brings happy memories Urmston. We used to love Arroyo, and enjoy a meal in the square by the fountain. Not been since 2018 so hopefully soon.

Wishing you all a pleasant day

SunshineSally Mon 05-Sept-22 07:45:33

Good morning everyone from a lightly sunny south Hants - though we are forecast rain from afternoon onwards.

Mick Good luck for today - I hope everything goes well.
BlueBalou my DH made me a flat pack tall filing type cupboard for the utility room and one of the door hinges does not close/lock properly - he’s totally blamed the unit rather than his workmanship ?. I’m still using it tho - the thought of taking it all down and repacking it fills me with horror! I will try and speak to the company today to see if they can help though. Fingers crossed for the both of us ??

I have a GP appointment today - bit unexpected really but we’ll see when I get there today.

Thoughts to those in pain or feeling low ??

Hugs and ??for you all xx

Urmstongran Mon 05-Sept-22 07:40:48

No Matt it’s Monday.

Good morning everyone from sunny Malaga ?
We are off up into Arroyo de la Miel (See photo) this morning. It’s a buzzy town ten minutes walk away. We have a few errands to do. One is to buy a new kettle - that’s the 3 now - fridge, ceiling fan and now this ha!

The schools go back today in Trafford and the Boy Wonder is excited to be in Y6 while L’il Miss is quite anxious to be going into Y1 apparently. I will ring them this evening I think to see how their first day has gone.

Hope your hospital appointment goes well today Mick.

kittylester Mon 05-Sept-22 07:38:27

Wondrous Wolfie is obviously feeling more chirpy this morning.

kittylester Mon 05-Sept-22 07:33:49

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where we had thunder and rain overnight and where it is quite muggy.

Alzheimer's Course this morning. It was being held in a lovely residential home (which did the most fabulous lunches) but they have had covid for the last 3 weeks so we have changed venue and I'm not sure how good the lunches will be. Obviously, I only volunteer for the lunch. grin

Wondrous Wolfie was pretty poorly yesterday and DD took him to A&E in the evening. He now has abs which will hopefully help him - and her.

Have a great day all.

BlueBalou Mon 05-Sept-22 07:30:24

Good morning everyone, it’s a bit damp here in Wiltshire but I don’t think we had any significant overnight rainfall sadly.
Having a good tidy up today now all the renovations are completed, it’s been a long few months.
Our Ikea cupboard assembly was every bit as stressful as I had predicted, why oh why can’t DH read instructions? He’s completely mucked up one door hinge ??, so cannot use it. I will have to see if I can order another.
Never, ever again!
Anyway, I hope everything goes well for everyone today x

harrigran Mon 05-Sept-22 07:26:17

Good morning from a rainy NE.
DD safely home in Brussels, St Pancras was very busy.
SIL and I spent the afternoon sorting more paperwork and then I cooked a chicken curry for dinner.
I am going to have a lazy day catching up with some TV and crosswords.
Good luck with the endoscopy Mick, reassuring to have someone with you when it is all over.

Marydoll Mon 05-Sept-22 07:24:05

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where its currently 16°C.

I hope your procedure goes well Mick. I'm glad to hear your sister will be with you, especially if you are having sedation. We were offered something to eat afterwards, when I had mine, I find it an odd request, being asked to bring sandwiches. Is it a cost cutting exercise?

GM, I am upset to hear that you didn't have a good day yesterday, safe journey home.

DH has cancelled his golf, because his partner phoned last night to say he had been selected for jury duty. DH didn't fancy playing in the rain, on his own, anyway.

Much to his delight, he will have any empty for a change. I am meeting a friend and so looking forward to it. Rather than take the train, I have decided to drive and take the Subway, as our trains are unreliable at the moment. I'm quite nervous, because the last time I did this, was over two years ago, before I had to shield.
However, I'm trying to build up my confidence making myself drive in busy areas again.

Lfdl good luck with the appointment.

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

monk08 Mon 05-Sept-22 07:15:24

Oops I'm like you anxiety has got worse as I've got older doesn't help DH is even worse than me now since his bypass, he seems to have lost a lot of his confidence.

BlueSapphire Mon 05-Sept-22 07:12:52

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. Everything is damp as we had a very loud thunderstorm during the night.

Up early as it's yoga class and have to get myself there on the bus; the friend who normally gives me a lift is on holiday. I may go for a coffee afterwards.

No plans for this afternoon, may read my book club book. Expecting the delivery today of my new air-fryer. Tried on my dresses from John Lewis yesterday; they will both have to go back, as they are much too big. I had ordered two sizes, but both drowned me, and there is no size smaller. Think I shall have a day out in Milton Keynes to return them.

Hope all goes well today Mick. Take care.

Have a pleasant Monday everyone.

Gingster Mon 05-Sept-22 07:12:52

Good morning all and STILL NO RAIN here in Essex.
We had two claps of thunder and a bit of lightning in the night, and that was it! Very still out there at the moment.

Yesterday we gardened and filled our bin with cuttings and dead flowers - and our neighbours bin , (he’s away and told us we could).

I cooked our roast dinner in the air fryer. My first attempt, and very delicious it was too. No baking trays to wash and once I’ve mastered the timings , I think I’ll use it most days.
I noticed other grans had ordered an AF , so it would be nice to hear how you’re getting on with it. Perhaps another thread with recipes etc.

GM yesterday must have been difficult for you. ?. Hope your journey home is trouble free. ?.

Good luck today Mick.

Today I’m going to the U3A meeting. Speaker on the SAS. Should be interesting. Some of the talks are ????.
My two friends and I will sign up for a trip to Penshurst Place in November. Nice to have things to look forward to in the winter.

DD will pop in later after she’s delivered little gd for her first day at school. We’ll have a coffee and a chat . Hope she’s feeling a bit better after her last infusion. ?.

Wishing everyone a good day. ?

MawtheMerrier Mon 05-Sept-22 07:12:03

Good morning all from grey N Bucks -and yes, we have had rain! And thunder. And lightning.
Good luck today Mick I am sure it will all go smoothly and I am glad your sister is taking you and will be there for you afterwards.
Those sandwiches will taste wonderful!
I must remember I have a blood test this morning - it was booked so long ago I had quite forgotten until I got the reminder.
Wishing you all a pleasant day with especial thought so Grandmattie .

dragonfly46 Mon 05-Sept-22 07:11:22

Good morning from a damp Leicestershire.

Hope the procedure goes well Mick.
Our little DGS starts school today and DGD goes up to the Juniors.

I have Pilates this morning.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

monk08 Mon 05-Sept-22 07:09:14

Good morning all from a bright Black country, yesterday we had a terrific rain storm water gushing down the road like a river.
Mick hope all goes well so good you have your sister with you.
I slept better last night took painkillers before bed, now must prepare myself for the hanging on the phone for doctors.
Safe travels grandMattie and anybody else on the move.
Take care all and may you all find some ?

Sago Mon 05-Sept-22 07:08:15

Good morning, sunny start, we leave the beautiful Chateau de la Ligne today and head south for 5 nights.
I am needing a detox!
Healthy food and lots of water please!

Jaxjacky Mon 05-Sept-22 07:06:00

Good morning from a damp S Hants, we had a storm last night, fierce but quite brief, despite hefty rain the patio is pretty much dry.
Good luck today Mick it’ll be fine.
Jobs today include new wiper blades for the car, fuel, as it’s getting low and housework. I’ve still got one lift to sort from Thursday, we’re short of drivers right now.
Have a gentle day all, gMattie ??

GrannyGravy13 Mon 05-Sept-22 07:04:33

Morning Mick and all

Hope all goes well Mick with your procedure.

We had thunder last night, but barely any rain.

The IMO has his first taster session at pre-school today, then he starts properly tomorrow (9.15am - 3.30pm long day) three full days per week. His big brother starts year 3. So Granny duties are now over apart from school holidays or illness. Where has the time gone.

Good luck to your GD starting school Sar53

Have a good day folks ??‍♀️

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 05-Sept-22 07:01:47

Good morning Mick and everyone from a soon to be sunny Oxfordshire, torrential rain at midnight, lots of lightning and a couple of rumbles of thunder, we have MissOops dog so I was up until 1.30 trying to settle her as she doesn’t like storms.
Mick I hope your procedure doesn’t take too long and that you will be back in time for more of your cycling.
Off to our overnight stop this afternoon ready for an early flight out tomorrow, we are away until the end of September and wifi might not be up to much, I’ll post if I can. My anxiety levels are sky high so I’ll try to calm myself down this morning, I’m getting worse as I get older. MissOops is house sitting with the dog so at lease the pot plants will be watered whilst we are away.
Hope everyone has a good day and virtual hugs for those who are in need of them
