Lying in bed with two windows slightly open and listening to the rain which has just started. Such a lovely sound after the long, hot,dry spell we've had. Will do the gardens a world of good. Goodnight all.??

Time for me to ask Alexa to play the sounds of the rainforest - I love it

Those who like the sound of rain might enjoy the Rain Rain app. It’s free unless you want bells and whistles (metaphorically- the app is sounds of rain!) and it has numerous different rain sounds. You can mix up to 3 in the free version- I like the thunderstorms and play them through sleep headphones at night. It is surprisingly soothing and goes some way to block out snoring from Mr Dog.

Thunderstorms here yes good for the garden that’s for sure.

Sat eating toast and tea, trying to console the dog - thunder and of course rain.

Just a steady rain in Durham. Started about an hour ago, but still warm.

I'm listening to the rain too. I can't sleep as I'm too hot! Been to take pain killers for an aching hip.

It was thunder here too, and a crashing rainstorm hurling against my windows. I'd just managed to get to sleep - struggling with a noisy neighbour - when Thor woke me up. I liked his noise better!

Torrential rain last night in my bit of Oxfordshire. What a welcome sight and sound. The road at the front of my house was like a river. I am expecting the plants in the garden to be rather battered, but at least now, they will survive. smile

We re still dry in the east no rain for months
We were supposed to have a massive storm last night but nah nothing ….missed us out again

I didn't hear the rain in the night but when I pulled the curtains in the dining room I could see the results of it in my garden...it's soaking wet everywhere! (This is in South East London)

Bit of a storm here in West London but also went to sleep to the sound of rain.

I used to listen with pleasure to the sound of rain running through our Roman tile roof in France. Happy days.

When I had a little caravan in a field in the country, nothing gave me more pleasure than the sound of rain on the roof when tucked up with a good book, electric blanket, hot chocolate and a good book.

Came back yesterday morning ,a day early, from St Ives caravan holiday. The storms on Sunday night were bad and the forecast for Monday was worse.
Not sure which noises I prefer . Heavy rain on a metal caravan roof or tapdancing seagulls !! Relieved to be home.
