Happy anniversary Urms.
Thank you for all your good wishes. Had two frozen shoulders, Maw, so perhaps gastric problems are the brakes on my life atm! X

BlueBalou Wed 07-Sept-22 08:37:09

Good morning everyone, the sun is shining here in Wiltshire after a soggy night.
Walked DDog with my friend this morning, had a good natter, she’s off on holiday at the weekend so hoping it’s going to dry up a bit.
Nothing much planned for today, I am having tea with a new dog walking friend this afternoon; I’m looking forward to that.
I hope everything goes well for you Mick, that you feel better soon GM and that everyone has a good day x

Good morning from clear blue skies in N Bucks. We certainly had rain in the night - that’s the best Autumn combination isn’t it? Crisp sunny mornings and Nature watering the gardens overnight.
Out to lunch with a friend then we are off to Podington Garden Centre for some stones for her garden and may squeeze in a stop off at Castle Ashby Shopping Courtyard where the deli does exceedingly good cakes !
Sympathies to GM - you have been under so much stress over these last months and have been so busy, it sounds as if your body is telling you to “Stop! Rest! Look after yourself, for once”
(A not uncommon thing after prolonged illness and bereavement. I developed gastric issues then suddenly a frozen shoulder out of nowhere after Paw died and there is no arguing with it .)
I hope todays ‘Scope” goes smoothly Mick and that the results can put your mind at rest.
Wishing you all a pleasant day ??

Good morning everyone from a brighter start than yesterday here in Northumberland. GD didn’t wake us till after 6 this morning which was a bit better! New neighbours in the next door caravan appeared yesterday evening and were making a right racket till after 11 but luckily didn’t wake GD. On site pool this morning, then beach later today. Lots of rain last night, hopefully back home as well the garden and allotment desperately need it.

Physio for DH and I am out walking again.

Hope your endoscopy goes well Mick and you feel better Mattie.
Happy Anniversary Urms.

Good morning from a damp but currently sunny Black Country.

Made a lovely apple and blackberry pie yesterday. I say that but we haven't tasted it yet! smile. Apples from Brothers' garden, Blackberries from ours.

No real plans today, so go with the flow,

I was engaged in 1974 baubles 13th September to be exact which was the date between our 21st birthdays being 6th and 20th. Sadly we parted after 9 years marriage as he left announcing he was gay. shock

DGD2 starts year 9 and GCSE's today. DGD4 (her sister) starts year 7 but at the same school as it is a Middle school. DGD3 (their cousin) starts year 8. Eldest DGD has a place at University to study Childrens Nursing, but that doesn't start until next April. So it is job hunting for her, although she has worked weekends in a pub for a long time.

Good luck for today Mick

Wishing you all a pleasant day

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I hope those who are under the weather feel better soon. I have a WI Coffee Morning, which should be fun. Our local cafe does magnificent cakes! After lunch I have a haircut and roots being done. I cancelled my last hair appointment because it was too hot so I haven’t had it cut (apart from an emergency fringe trim) for 12 weeks. Early evening I have a WI Committee meeting. I prepared all the paperwork yesterday. OH has what sounds like a very uncomfortable dental appointment this afternoon. He is having a new crown but has to have a small operation on the gum first. ?

monk08 Wed 07-Sept-22 08:07:18

Happy Anniversary to you both Urms ??

Taichinan Wed 07-Sept-22 08:06:43

Taichinan Wed 07-Sept-22 08:05:50

Good morning Mick and all. Well, "season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" is certainly right - the hills have disappeared permanently! But as to it being "close bosom friend to the maturing sun"? I'm afraid they've obviously had a big fall out! This weather is so miserable. We did have about half an hour of glorious sunshine yesterday afternoon ........
I'm including a couple of photos of the plum harvest. I hope!
I had a phone call from the doctor yesterday - unrequested and unexpected! She was confirming she had had a letter from the skin specialist and that the prescription would be at the chemist for collection on Friday! How's that for service in these strange times.
Today I am taking my much older friend out, but where to go on a day like this? A nice drive through the fog, anyone?
No such problem in Mallorca Oops - looks lovely and warm and restful. And lovely photos of your trip to Culzean yesterday Baubles.
Sorry you had such a miserable night Grandmattie. Hope you feel a bit better today.
Have a good day everyone x

Urmstongran Wed 07-Sept-22 07:56:54

Glad to hear all went well Oops! It’s easier than everyone worries about nowadays. As I said to you ‘if I can do it, anyone can!’. Have a great time on your holiday. Relax and enjoy the hot, sunny days!

Good morning everyone from a very wet and soggy Inverness, looks like we’ve had lots of rain. We arrived home yesterday evening after a trouble free journey, just a slight delay on the flight but nothing much. Thank you all for your kind comments after we completed our walking adventures
Hoping all goes well for you today mick and take care
Today I’m off to the gym and then catching up with my friend to swap news and updates
Hope your DD and DGD enjoy the show gingster and your DD feels ok, such a brave lovely lady
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

PollyDolly Wed 07-Sept-22 07:52:43

Good morning from a grey and drizzling East Midlands. Nothing particular planned today although I do have some hellibore seeds and some monkey puzzle tree seeds that I want to have a go at growing so I might escape to the greenhouse and get those set.
"Get well" wishes to all those feeling poorly, thinking of all those having appointments and treatment today, stay positive! Happy travels and safe journey for those on holiday.
Have the best day possible everyone and take care in all you do

Urmstongran Wed 07-Sept-22 07:52:17

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from a sunny Malaga ?
It’s a bit nippy now though first thing sitting out on my little balcony while I drink my tea.

I’m pleased with my hair colour. A tad darker than I expected ‘lost in translation’ I expect! When I looked in the mirror first thing I imagined I was wearing a wig ha! At least there are some highlights though & yesterday I received many compliments so I’m happy.
?

baubles we got married this date in 1974! Almost snap!

A quiet day in the gardens is our plan. We might go to the marina or into Malaga city on Friday night for dinner when there’s more of a buzz. I think tonight we’ll just eat out at Pedro’s.

Hope all goes well today Mick and that you feel better grandMattie as the day goes on.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 07-Sept-22 07:51:25

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a damp Hull. Rain again in the night the grass is a lovely green again.

Mick hope your procedure goes well.

Baubles your pictures are gorgeous. BlueSapphire enjoy your day out and Oops enjoy your holiday.

grandMattie sorry you aren’t well hope you can put your feet up and have a nap today?

Yesterday my visit to my uncle was good. He was on good form and full of complaints about the new prime minister being a woman and this country is going down the nick apparently Australia is better ?‍♀️ ?. I keep telling him if it wasn’t for a woman he wouldn’t exist. He does give them giggles in his assisted living.

We are having fitted cupboards done this morning in DHs home office. They are more for the GCs toys which have overflowed from the playroom upstairs. I have to wait in for them. DH is going for a massage and then to the gym. Picking DGS up from school. He was back at school yesterday he’s supposed to be in juniors now but he’s in a special needs unit so nothing too much has changed for him but his mummy said he was excited to go back. She sent super pictures of him smiling in his uniform. I think he needs the routine.

Have a good day everyone and virtual hugs to those suffering stress and illness. ??

Greyduster Wed 07-Sept-22 07:47:53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A grey start in South Yorkshire, but dry at present. Mick I hope it goes well for you today??. I am going out for a walk today with DD through one of our lovely parks. It’s mostly a wooded valley with a river running through it; easy walking and always pretty. There’s a cafe at the top which does very nice food so lunch is on the cards. We might get wet on the way back though! It will be nice to have her company.
Have the best day you can folks!

Grandmadinosaur Wed 07-Sept-22 07:39:50

Thank you Oops that looks lovely. I wish I was there ?

SunshineSally Wed 07-Sept-22 07:37:32

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rainy south Hants ?

Mick I hope today goes well for you.
grandMattie sorry to hear you were poorly. Take it easy today.
Oopsadaisy Enjoy your holiday, Mallorca is lovely.
baubles Happy Engagement Anniversary. Great photos. Scary how quickly life passes.

We had a productive day yesterday and were able to purchase a lovely corner unit - though it was hard work trying to fit it in the car and then back into the house! Cue much heated exchanges between DH and I - especially when I dropped my end!! Thankfully nothing broke - the glass in the doors was still intact! But then - we needed to empty our 5ft pine dresser which was full of god knows what and slide it along the wall in order to fit the ‘new’ unit in. The old unit is now on FB - fingers crossed someone wants it as it is a lovely unit which we’ve had for about 30 years. It’s all part of my downsizing plan and getting rid of things that are no longer useful
The new unit just houses glasses at the top and alcohol in the cupboard below and fits snugly in the corner. Even DH is pleased. Now to concentrate on selling the dresser.
Seeing the GCs today - other than that, not much planned.
Have the best day you can. Thoughts to those in pain or are feeling low ??
Hugs and ?? for you all x

Beechnut Wed 07-Sept-22 07:37:14

Good Morning from sunny Severnside.

Good luck for today Mick. I’m going for a blood test this morning and then we’ll see what the day brings.

Hope you all have the best day you can especially those feeling poorly ?

Gala Wed 07-Sept-22 07:36:37

Good morning from a damp Sefton. More rain forecast for later.

Love the arch photo baubles. I was obsessed with 'framing' my photos some years ago but have since managed to get it out of my system - mostly.

A marathon session at the opticians yesterday. Hate choosing frames, so many to choose from. I need 2 pairs & as I'm very shortsighted & cannot see if they 'suit' me.

Zoom Zumba class this morning. Always a good start to the day. Love Zumba. Then lunch with friends in canalside country pub.

Take care all. Have the best day.

Pittcity Wed 07-Sept-22 07:34:23

Good morning from Colchester where the rain clouds are clearing. Another muggy day with intermittent showers forecast. Temperature in the low 20s so still no need for a jacket.
Usual Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre. Top up shop in Aldi this afternoon.
Love to all ? x

Gingster Wed 07-Sept-22 07:34:12

Good morning all and it’s been drizzling but brightening up now here in Essex.

Thankyou for all your kind wishes for my DD.❤️ yesterday.
She’s taking little gd to London to see Beauty and the Beast this afternoon. It was booked a long time ago and she’s determined they are still going. I hope she feels up to it. ?.

DH is going fishing today and I’m meeting my old school pal for a coffee and long chat. I’ll go on the train as it’s only 2 stops and I’m 2 minutes from the station. Hate driving if I don’t have to. Rayleigh weir has road works and the traffic has been dire. Don’t come over GG if you can help it.

I’ve booked two ?lunches this week . It seems too early but otherwise you can’t get in anywhere, if there’s a large number of you.

Poor you GM . Take it easy today. ?.

Baubles those pics are stunning. What a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing.

Mick I hope all goes well for you today ?

GG and SAR - let’s hope we can find a date and venue! ?.

Wishing you al a ‘good’ day ???
