Good morning all from Stockport.
I feel the world has changed today, I was 15 when HM became Queen so grew up with her reign.
She was a wonderful example to us all.
I am not and have never been a royalist but I admired her.
RIP.
It is dull here today but we have not had the rain which the south has had.
Out for a Chinese takeaway tonight and a restaurant meal tomorrow.
Seize the day, how long do we have?

Pittcity Fri 09-Sept-22 07:35:14

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester.
I slept badly and everything feels weird this morning.
Loads of changes of plan here with DS (Navy) being briefed on his part in the next fortnight and DD1(Royal Mail) says her work phone almost blew up yesterday....you don't think of all the small details that trickle down and affect everyone.

I will walk into the City centre and get essentials.

Love to all, especially the Royal Family today x

Good morning, another scorcher here in the South of France.
Today is our final day, we are very much looking forward to returning home tomorrow.
We were travelling from Collioure to Narbonne when we heard of the Queens death, we both feel so sad.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 09-Sept-22 07:30:35

RIP Queen Elizabeth
Long live the King!!
It’s like a new life is starting with a new monarch And a new Parliament

I meant to welcome Grammaretto back. Sorry to hear you are under the weather.

dragonfly46 Fri 09-Sept-22 07:19:46

Good morning from murky Leicestershire.

The weather matches my mood, I cannot believe how sad I feel at the death of our Queen.

Marydoll Fri 09-Sept-22 07:18:29

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow, with even more rain forecast.

Mick, I hope you are feeling a bit more settled today.

A gentle day ahead, apart from getting a few essentials. My son tells me that his company have received notification, that some shops are closing in the shopping malls, they are responsible for. Very respectful indeed.
I'm actually quite shocked, given that HMI, saw Liz Truss the day before her death.
I had a lot of respect for how hard she worked and the dignified way she conducted herself in the face of her family troubles. It must have been very difficult for her.

Wishing you all a gentle and peaceful day.

brook2704 Fri 09-Sept-22 07:15:22

Good morning everyone from a grey and wet Inverness
A sad day today thinking about the Queen who has always been there in the background.
Take care all whatever the day brings ?

harrigran Fri 09-Sept-22 07:13:15

Good morning from a damp NE.
DS and I spent the afternoon watching Shetland then had an early dinner, when we returned to the lounge the Queen had died. A sad day I will not forget as it was also GD's birthday. I feel really old as I can remember King George too.
Housework today to prepare for family gathering tomorrow.

Whiff Fri 09-Sept-22 07:12:38

It feels odd to feel so sad about our Queen dieing. But she has always been there in my life. For all the members of my family who have died she has always been there. Glad she managed to reach her jubilee. She looked so sad and alone at Philip's funeral just like any widow and think that was the start of her decline in health and zest for life. She lost half of herself the moment he took his last breath. And now the nation has lost a much loved monarch . RIP madam ?

ShazzaKanazza Fri 09-Sept-22 07:12:17

Good Morning Mick and everyone today.
A very grey morning foggy start to the day.
We have had a couple of upsetting days with grandson back at school and yesterdays news just topped it all off.

RIP our lovely queen. Feel broken-hearted today.
Love to you all x

Sar53 Fri 09-Sept-22 07:05:58

Good morning from a damp Essex by the sea.
A very restless night.
RIP Queen Elizabeth x

Sudden!

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 09-Sept-22 07:05:14

Sunny here in Mallorca, we are picking up the news via the Internet, sad news and although expected it seemed to be

Another slothful day as it’s pretty hot here.

Hope all have a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 09-Sept-22 07:00:39

Morning all

It’s grey and drizzly here in S E Essex.

Should be going to the gym first thing, but not sure I want to be around people. Hairdressers this afternoon.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The weather matches the mood of the nation here in South Yorkshire. For the second time this year the landscape of my life has changed, and I feel the loss of both my beloved DH and my beloved Queen most keenly today. We both took the armed forces oath to “be faithful and bear true allegiance……” to her. I can’t believe she’s gone.

ginny Fri 09-Sept-22 06:58:13

Good morning.
Off to breakfast in a while on the second day of our crafting weekend.

Thoughts with all who are sad or poorly .

Mollygo Fri 09-Sept-22 06:55:00

Good morning from North Lancs, where it’s actually fine and warm enough to walk the dog. There’s still a feeling if unreality here. The end seemed to happen so quickly. ?

Grammaretto Fri 09-Sept-22 06:54:00

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It was so wet yesterday and overnight I half expected to be floating away this morning. A truly dreich day and
I have woken with flu symptoms- coronavirus?
Not only has the Queen died but my DS & family left on the next stage of their overseas trip.
Yet nothing like that wouldn't have deterred HM so I shall carry on as she did. What a trooper!

I hope all those of you with worries and pain find some happy moments today.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 09-Sept-22 06:51:46

Good morning from a wet East Yorkshire.

I love that picture Sally

A sad day to wake up to and although we knew it was coming it seemed so quick and took me aback.

RIP our beloved Queen.

grandMattie Fri 09-Sept-22 06:50:46

Good morning from a damp E Kent. It rained off and on for the last 24 hours. Finally some rain!
What a sad day for the country and RF. the Queen is dead, long live the King! I suspect The Q consort will bring the king back on track.
Did little yesterday, ditto today though mi need to do some shopping, I’m out of groceries.
Carpe diem; Carpe Horam…. ?❤️?❤️???

MawtheMerrier Fri 09-Sept-22 06:40:11

Good morning all.
Yesterday was a strange day, one I’ll never forget. It’s hard to take in and there will be many of us who share this feeling of personal loss as well as mourning a great lady.
I have a mind to watch The Crown again, especially the early episodes.
Wishing you all a pleasant if thoughtful day

karmalady Fri 09-Sept-22 06:35:53

Good morning from s somerset, dark and raining

I need to find something to occupy me today. I cannot take any more media outpourings. It is only 5 years since I grieved for my husband and a year later also for two more family members
RIP our beloved queen

BigBertha1 Fri 09-Sept-22 06:17:49

Good morning from East Cheshire. A quiet day to think about The Queen and her family today. RIP xx

SunshineSally Fri 09-Sept-22 06:11:47
