Waiting for a call from the Labour ward….

My daughter-in-law’s waters broke last night and she’s been having contractions, on and off, all day. We’re taking care of the dog, the other grandparents have our granddaughter…..and we’re all on tenterhooks hoping that baby puts in an appearance overnight.

It’s been a difficult year with many family members having serious health issues, so we’re all looking forward to the joy that a new baby brings.

Is anyone else in line to be a granny before the year’s end? This little chap will be my tenth.

Oh - whoops! I see I missed the post where you announced the birth. Glad all are well. Look forward to hearing the story about the bathroom.

My mother thought she needed to go to the toilet and the nurses found her there just in time to get her back to the delivery room for my birth!

Thanks all for good wishes, and congratulations to all you grannies in waiting.

Baby has arrived and both mum and little grandson are doing well. No name or photographs yet because they want big sister (just shy of 4 years old) to be the first to see and be introduced to him. There was obviously some drama surrounding the birth as our son sent us an enigmatic photo that possibly suggests baby was born in the hospital bathroom - he’s going to tell us the tale once mother and baby are settled. ?

Due to be a gt. Grandma again in March- we have 10 grandchildren and 4 greats. It's great!! Hope all is well and mum and bub have an easy time!
