Radio 3 Words and Music tribute to queen

Every Sunday I listen to Words and Music on Radio 3 from 5 till 6.30pm It is a wonderful inspiring and relaxing programme. It is a mix of readings (poetry and prose) beautifully read by actors, with music of all sorts.

The theme this week was the queen and it was brilliant. The music was lovely, and it chronicled some of the things from her reign that those of us of a certain age will remember - and some of the words were from the queen herself over the years.

I can recommend finding it on BBC iPlayer.

Thank you for the recommendation Luckygirl that’s a new one to me. It sounds like something I would enjoy at any time . I’ll definitely check out todays edition.

I often listen to Radio 3 but for some reason I've always skipped that one. Will have a listen. Thank you.

I heard it last night, as I have radio 3 on most of the time. It became unbearably sad though listening to her voice, but the music was lovely.
