Welcome Polin. Hope you get to see your friend - I’m in a similar situation with one of mine - we’re like ships that pass in the night!

Good morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Mick I didn’t realise you had had this diagnosis, I’m sorry to hear that and hope that you are able to have successful treatment.

Sending good wishes for your daughter Gingster.

Great news Harri.

Anniversary wishes to the GGs.

Happy holidays Grandmadinosaur

I’ve to ring the surgery today to see if I can get a fit to work note for the start of October, I suspect it’ll take me a few tries to get through.

My DoutL has ordered some things from George at Asda to be delivered to a store a few miles from us so I will collect that later today. I never shop there for food but will have a look around, see if any bargains jump off the shelves at me.

Have the best day possible everyone.

grandMattie Tue 13-Sept-22 08:24:37

Marydoll, we are very lucky in still having a ticket office. Not for long though, sadly. Being a small town, we are all on first name terms with Lucy at the station.
In the end, I was given a full refund and ticket rebooked for 24 hours later which suits DD better. Also I was due to come home via Paddington station on Monday- not a good idea! Forwarded to Tuesday.

Marydoll Tue 13-Sept-22 08:22:00

Happy anniversary, Mr&Mrs GG. Wishing you a very happy day! ???

GrannyGravy13 Tue 13-Sept-22 08:19:38

Sorry Mick I have just reread your OP.

You must have been shocked when your consultant gave you the results, let’s hope treatment starts quickly ?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 13-Sept-22 08:16:01

Gingster I hope your DD can be helped once you get to A & E and that the wait is not overly long.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 13-Sept-22 08:15:55

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Hope you get your health problems sorted Mick
Going to my art group this morning possibly tackle a portrait of HM, there’s been so many beautiful photos of her recently. I have been nominated to solder DHs battery charger- should have done it yesterday but I forgot. This pm shall be doing a lot of repairing.
Great news Harrigran you will be pleased.
Happy anniversary Grannygravy.
Safe journey*Grandmadinasaur*.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 13-Sept-22 08:06:43

Good morning from a hazy Mallorca, but it’s 27 degrees so another hot day, I shall read (for a change) dip in the pool, often, we went shopping yesterday so no need to go out today. The cleaning crew will be here shortly, so we will get out of their way.
I’ll go and feed the turkeys, we have lots of fruit about to turn.

Good news Harrigran , Mick hope you get your results soon, meanwhile keep taking the tablets.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Marydoll Tue 13-Sept-22 08:05:01

Good morning all from an Autumn morning here in Glasgow.
Mick, I'm sorry to hear you have bowel cancer, that must have been a shock for you. I hope you receive prompt treatment. You will find posters on GN, who have had the same diagnosis and will offer advice and support.
As for the anaemia, mine was caused by my stomach issues and was resolved, with appropriate medication. I felt so much better. I'm sure your clinicians have dealt promptly with that too.

Harri, what wonderful news for you. Excellent service from the NHS for both you and Mick.
Nine weeks on from my urgent gastroscopy, I'm still awaiting my biopsy results, despite my GP chasing the hospital. My RA drugs cannot be restarted, until the RA consultant knows the results. Its very difficult to stay positive, the longer it goes on and knowing that there is definitely something wrong..

Today is a momentous day for us, I am collecting Dollie from school, for the first time ever and we are taking her to her ballet lesson in one of the nearby villages. I don't know, who is more excited, DH and I or her!
She started school, when I was shielding and DS, rightly so, was worried about me being in crowds once my shielding period was over and has always been wary about me picking her up.
I'm so looking forward to it, because many of the grandparents stood at the same gate as me as parents, now our children are parents themselves.
I also know many of the staff, some were my students, including the Heidie ( Head Teacher),
Circumstances have changed for me, life is too short now and there have been so many missed opportunities. So from now on, I have decided to carpe secundo. Forget the days and minutes, GM, its time to get serious! ?

Those pesky windfall apples are still staring at me, I just couldn't face them, because yesterday wasn't a very good day. It was a surprisingly quiet day, indulging in trashy foreign language dramas. I was glad of an excuse to do nothing. ?
However, a Gran friend gave me a recipe, which my DH and SIL will love it! Many thanks, #thoughtful gran.
It will need to be baked tomorrow, as we need a few essentials today. Is anyone finding the use by dates are very short these days? As for the rise in prices, DD brought me a LIDL leaflet, I was shocked at how expensive items were.

I having been thinking of all who are unwell on here, having so much to contend with, especially the poorly DDs.
Those receiving results yesterday, I hope they are not too worrying.
Ash, those night time heart episodes can be scary, I praying things have settled down.
Blossoming, I missed you, I' mrelieved to hear you are on holiday and not unwell.
Grandmabatty was mentioned as missing yesterday, she is one of our dear Glesca Grannies , I hope she is ok.
Finally GM, hoping you have managed to finalise your Bristol trip arrangements.

I'm now going back now to read the thread, the sun has just come out, a good omen.?

ShazzaKanazza Tue 13-Sept-22 07:57:20

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a bright Hull I think we have a week of lovely weather coming.

Mick thinking of you it sounds like you have some serious health worries.
Harrigran good news about your result.

Grandmadinosaur enjoy your holiday. You’ll love looking out over Mahon harbour watching the yachts going by.

Polin? Enjoy your meet up

GrannyGravy happy anniversary ?
Gingster ? hope your DD can get seen swiftly at hospital today.

Just a trip to the gym today and a food shop.
DD and GDs are coming later for dinner. I’m going to cook salmon. It’s always a pleasure to see our girls. GS had a better day at school when I picked him up. I’m going to ask if I can drive into school because I can’t cope with him bolting across the road. Luckily it’s a quiet road when I bring him out and at 7 he won’t hold my hand. Other special need children get picked up in taxi’s inside the school so ?
Take care everyone and hope you have a good day ??

monk08 Tue 13-Sept-22 07:55:15

It’s dull here too in South Bucks.

Happy Anniversary Grannygravy and MrGG ?

Welcome polin there seems to be a few Grans in our area now. Yes summer goes far too quickly. Enjoy your meet up.

Georgesgran Tue 13-Sept-22 07:32:43

You really know how to live Dragonfly - I need to book a check up for November. When I was last there, they wouldn’t take bookings for regular checkups.
When will things get back to normal, or is this it?

Gingster Tue 13-Sept-22 07:31:52

Good morning all.

Happy anniversary GG.

Im taking DD to hospital today. She spent all day yesterday trying to phone for advice on her new symptoms. She left message after message - only one nurse got back to her late afternoon . She said she’d contact the consultant and phone her back. Nothing. Dd phoned again and the nurse said ‘go to A and E . ?.

Hope everyone’s appointments go well today ?

Sar53 Tue 13-Sept-22 07:29:48

Good morning from a cloudy Essex by the sea.
I've just finished ironing, I like to get it out of the way early.
Neighbour coming for coffee later, no other plans.
Have a pleasant Tuesday everyone xx

Ashcombe Tue 13-Sept-22 07:29:47

Happy anniversary, GrannyGravy13! ???

Georgesgran Tue 13-Sept-22 07:28:14

Good morning from Durham. I’ve lost my earlier post! Been up half the night with DD2’s older dog - he has back trouble so I hope they can get an urgent Vet appointment or else a repeat prescription for his anti-inflammatory/painkillers.
Text earlier from DD2 to ask if I can have DGS2 this morning and get him to school for noon, as his Daddy’s poorly. Oh well, bang goes my plans for today.
Good news for Harri - keep cooking those delicious meals and waft the smells my way!
Mick I’m sorry to sound insensitive, but have you now had a diagnosis of bowel cancer? If so, I’m sorry to hear that.
Kind thoughts to everyone feeling a bit under the weather. X

Ashcombe Tue 13-Sept-22 07:27:30

Good morning from a soggy Sarthe!

We are paying for our hot day yesterday with a thunderstorm that led us to be having TIB (good old DH!) at 4.15 a.m. then sleeping in. ? I spent much of Monday in a shady corner of the garden reading, other than driving DH back from the local garage where his car was having new tyres fitted.

This area sees few foreigners except for when events happen at the circuit in Le Mans, so my car arouses some interested stares from locals. When we are overheard conversing in English in the supermarket, people stare unashamedly.

I’m glad to hear your news, harrigran - what a relief! Safe travels, Grandmadinosaur and enjoy your holiday. Good luck at the hospital, Mick. Are you taking your iron tablets now?

Enjoy whatever the day brings. ??✝️??

Gala Tue 13-Sept-22 07:26:08

Good morning from a brightening but cool Sefton. There are some very pretty puffy pink tinged clouds wafting past.

No plans for today apart from a visit to the fish man & Lidl, & I really should do some admin.

Take care everyone.

dragonfly46 Tue 13-Sept-22 07:25:22

Happy Anniversary Grannygravy.
