I knit my socks, I recommend “Pyroclastic” it’s a shaped sock they curves round the foot.

I have a problem with trainer socks. The right one constantly has to be pulled back over my heel while the left one stays put. No matter which brand I try I always have the same problem.
I just accept now it must be the way I walk.

I wear cheapest socks and it doesn’t happen it’s most likely the way you walk, your gait, that’s the problem and it doesn’t matter what price the socks are they ll still twist

Thank you everyone I’ve just ordered some socks from Sweaty Betty. Fingers crossed.

Baggs

Maybe it's not the socks that are the problem but the way you place/move your feet. Perhaps a visit to a foot specialist would help. Just an idea, not a criticism ?

That could be my problem ?

Whiff

A friend of mine has this problem with socks made from bamboo.

I was wearing bamboo socks yesterday and yes, they do twist.

They're lovely and soft though.

Feeling frugal I once bought bamboo socks as they were about a third of the price of the Sweaty Betty's - they were rubbish and developed holes at the big toe very quickly, whereas the SBs are years' old with no holes and only just beginning to lose shape.

Must buy more - it will be nice to have some new patterns after all these years!

For trainers I wear Sweaty Betty or Skechers trainer socks - the socks, not liners. They're very good and don't move!

Try knee length socks rather than ankle socks.

Hello Mandrake no they are not too big I am a size 6 and have tried smaller ones too which doesn’t work either. I’ve tried gents socks too but they all seem the same. Och maybe it’s my feet, but it is very uncomfortable .

Have you tried natural fibre socks? I find manmade tend to do this.

Are they too big?

Please please can anyone help, my socks keep twisting on my feet inside my trainers and boots. I have spent a small fortune trying different ones and they all seem the same. Maybe it’s my feet, I have very wide feet due to bunions but would love to find comfortable socks that don’t twist inside footwear.
