Amazon packaging

Amazon seem to be using an excessive amount of cardboard nowadays. Today I had a garden hoe (shorter than me at 5 ft 6) delivered in an enormous 7 ft box, big enough for half a dozen hoes! Such a waste of cardboard.

Here it is the opposite. I have recently bought a non-stick saucepan with a lid and a ceramic heater at different times. Each arrived with no packaging, exposing what I had bought to all and sundry. There was a label stuck on each but if one wanted to steal the item, one could make a quick decision.

Also online it usually states "parcel handed to resident". A tad difficult through a locked door.

What I really hate is that white packaging stuff companies use. If a child swallows it it can choke them.

I re-use the boxes for my eBay sales, though not if it was 7' long! I use the paper they pack in the boxes for crafting and junk journalling, or as drawing paper for my granddaughter. I have just read an article that said Amazon sometimes use a bigger box than needed to fill the space in the van and avoid breakages.

The last Amazon order I received was like one of those Russian dolls - there were three huge boxes, one fitting into another, reams of brown paper plus yards of Sellotape all to wrap an item the size of a box of tissues. Amazon are heavy handed with their packaging.

they certainly are boheminan we received a similar box last week, and one only yesterday, it was like a joke, and there was one light bulb in it only.

I ordered a small wristwatch which arrived in the corner of a large cardboard container. What a waste.
