Don't know about Travelodge but the Premier Inns are excellent value imho.

This reminds me of attending a silver wedding anniversary party near Edinburgh many years ago. We went with another couple and left my DH to organize the accommodation. It was the pits - a dilapidated Travelodge on the middle of a traffic roundabout in the backside of beyond. I was mortified. Thank God it was only for one night.

Hopefully you will still have a lovely weekend lesson learned never leave husbands in charge of booking hotels.
I have just been looking we usually go to York in November hotel rates have increased to beyond silly.

Oh York is lovely, hope you can still go. Yes lesson learned, I usually sort out the holidays but have not been well. As well as silly prices hotels are getting out of servicing the rooms so beware!

Haha *crazyH! Maybe not your ex then lol! Don't want 5 star but we can afford better than this. He can feel my disappointment and is in a bit of a sulk now! Happy days!

Hazeleyes - he’s my kind of man?- My Ex always booked the most expensive, most luxurious hotel he could find with money that at that time, we could ill afford ….you choose Mr Hazeleyes or my Ex ?

OMG I left it to other half to book a mini break and he booked budget hotel, disabled room as it was the last room. It is so grim and a bit out of city centre, god I wish I was at home. Gutted really...
