I was horrified to hear what this school had done to this boy, but lots of Mumsnetters seem to think it is fine.

What do you think?

OldFrill

It's an old thread revived by scammers.
The mother explained it to the boy but her beef was the school should have explained it when the doled out the extreme punishment.
Boy will probably be at senior school now, identifying as a eucalyptus plant called Shirley.
Mother possibly in prison for incitement to riot.
Dad having an affair with his BMF.

Soooooo good 😂

To add my two pence worth, I think someone should had quietly let this 9 year boy know this wasn’t an appropriate remark and why.

He’s 9!

Mum could have informally told and she could also have had a word with her son.

I’ll be honest, storm in a teacup!

A great deal of mum shaming going on from the feminists.
I may have missed something but I did not find any dad shaming.

Just saying.

I didn’t read the whole thread, what did he do to the girl that provoked her lashing out?, we likely havn’t heard the whole story.
Girls do sometimes lash out, my eldest daughter did, other girls were bullying her so she hit one of them giving her nosebleed. She got suspended for a few days, but they left her alone after that and her younger sisters too.

Old post.
Why restore it, I wonder?

Over the top punishment (on his school record) in my view. The child is 9. A careful but serious talking to should have sufficed, perhaps from the headteacher for added weight.

Labelling a child that age sexist/misogynistic is OTT. He's still young enough to learn that such comments are unacceptable.

I don’t know why threads on Mumsnet are topic of discussion on here.

Cossy Thu 17-Oct-24 08:08:44

BlueBelle

All he needed was someone to explain to him why it wasn’t the best thing to have said ….blooming ridiculous
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not a wind up sounds about right for one

I agree on all counts!

BlueBelle Thu 17-Oct-24 06:05:54

Why write on this it’s a two year old thread he’s probably at senior school now

Is this the "last straw"?
Who knows - he may do it a lot.
We only have a "soft" reporting from the mother.
