Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another grey and cold start to the day. We’ve not seen the sun up here for a good few days now so hope it turns up soon.
Hoping you all enjoy the farewell celebrations today gMattie and the move goes well
Nothing much planned again for me today, just the usual household stuff and a bit of gardening. I’m gradually swapping the summer clothes into the bottom drawers and getting the jumpers and leggings out. The summer sandals are having a good clean before putting away too
Safe journey Ashcombe and everyone else travelling today
Hope everyone meeting up with friends and family has a good day and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Greyduster Sun 18-Sept-22 08:25:31

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we have watery sunshine. Glad you have a date for your surgery, Mick. I had a phone call from my nephew yesterday to say his DD had gone into labour at 26 weeks with her first baby. It’s a little boy and he’s being looked after in the special baby unit at our maternity hospital. I’m trying to pluck up courage to ring and ask how he is but I’m afraid to in case the news is not good. I will be heartbroken if they lose him. DD and her menfolk will be over for a roast dinner later so I will be busy today.
Have the best day you can folks.

Grammaretto I do go atm, its a little MfW and quietly supportive.

Gingster all the best for DD - and help for her.

Good morning all from bright and cool South Lanarkshire.

We managed to spend a couple of hours at the fortieth part last night. We were sitting alone and felt a little self conscious amongst all the groups of people. There was no opportunity for mingling and the dancing hadn’t yet got going so we slipped out quietly and went home. We’ve become the oldies sitting in the corner. grin

DD and family are coming for dinner today, I’ve made a huge vegetarian lasagne as the nine year old has been a veggie for a couple of years, I usually make something separate for her but decided we can all do without meat today.

Bon voyage to anyone travelling today and sending good wishes for those not in the best of health.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning from a sunny but chilly south Hants where DDog is waiting for his morning walk ☀️

Haven’t has a chance to look at the posts yet but will do later.

Admin today and sort out of one of the bedrooms. DH painting new trellis - hopefully the last coat today.

Have the best day you can everyone ???

Hugs and ? for you all x

Good morning all from dull Harrogate.
Glad you have your appointment sorted Mick
Oh Georgesgran hope you get a chance at some shut eye soon, you must be exhausted!
Looks like you may have a local cat burglar who steals washing!
Will try to get to church this morning, then have to get more paint for the work being done
I washed the curtains yesterday which happily don’t have to be ironed
Safe journey to those travelling today.
Have the best day possible folks

Wyllow3 Sun 18-Sept-22 08:49:56

Greyduster hoping for the best.

brook2704 Sun 18-Sept-22 08:50:59

Wishing all the very best for the new baby boy greyduster and hope all is well ❤️

Jaxjacky Sun 18-Sept-22 08:54:56

Morning all from blue skies with a chill in S Hants.
Enjoy the musical Gingster recharge your batteries, what a tough time your daughter is having.
I’m out with my son later to collect his hybrid bike, he’ll be riding it part way home so I’m glad it’s not raining.
Final bits in the garden, runner beans can come down, they’ve been rubbish this year, the heatwave I think.
Enjoy your day best you can all ??

GrannySomerset Sun 18-Sept-22 09:01:12

Chilly but sunny this morning, looks like a real Indian summer day. We have a special evensong at 5.00 this afternoon so I shall go to that but nothing else scheduled other than a bit of garden tidying. Sunday can be a long day.

Hope Gingster’s long suffering daughter feels rather better soon. Such an exhausting time for the whole family.

Good morning all,

It was brighter earlier, but is clouding up and getting breezy in my part of South Yorkshire now.

I’m pleased to read that you have a new appointment for Thursday, *Mick” and wish you all the best.

Today I will be making a beef in red wine casserole in the slow pot for dinner - it’s getting to that time of year again. I’ve also got a few apples on the apple tree, so thought I’d make a crumble for dessert. Really pushing the boat out ?.

Not sure what the plans for today are going to be, it will be a wait and see day I think.

I wish you all a happy Sunday. Take care.

Good morning from a cloudy Leicestershire.

The booster centre was so quiet yesterday we were the only ones there!
Dog walking and walking with friend today despite my sore arm.

Gingster flowers
Greduster ?

Good morning from an overcast but dry NE. Heating is coming on every morning now, definitely autumn.
Family arrived mid afternoon and we decided to watch a film, GD used her phone to rent Encanto and relay it to my TV, I am amazed at what youngsters can do now on their phones.
Eldest GD brought homework to complete, she is studying fine art and graphics.
Younger GD brought her music books as she is studying for her grade 5 piano, she is working on the Moonlight sonata at present and it is coming along nicely. She likes my piano because hers is an electric one and the feel of the keys is not quite the same.
SIL is coming this afternoon, we will do some more tidying before cooking dinner.
DD was not happy yesterday, she had been in Madrid on business and her return flight to Brussels was delayed, it landed at 2.30am. That is one long working day.
Have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Sun 18-Sept-22 09:17:24

Just seen your post Greyduster and wish to add my good wishes in hoping this new baby boy thrives. x

Kalu Sun 18-Sept-22 09:27:45

Good morning all from Glasgow. Unfortunately, no sun today which I had become used to seeing every morning, it’s back to a dull day.

Since starting ami^trip^tyline again recently I have been having the most bizarre dreams. Last night’s, DH left me for Meghan Markle. I didn’t even know he knew her!?
Pleased to hear you have an appointment Mick. Hopefully all will be clear when you chat to your consultant.
Your poor DD must be exhausted Gingster. The upside of our newish large hospital offers patients a private, ensuite room, the downside, there is a shortage of beds!

Very pleased to have a mountain of ironing cleared away already…..it has been collected and will be returned the evening!☺️ I reupholstered a bedroom chair yesterday and plan to finish off the edge of the seat today with a line of copper studs. ?

Best wishes to all for a good day.

EkwaNimitee Sun 18-Sept-22 09:27:56

Good morning Mick and everyone from chilly grey Carlisle where the sun is not quite winning the battle to get out.
I had sworn to stay in my summer weight clothes and not put the heating on before the end of September but I've started giving in. Socks and a fleece gilet are on, the bedroom window is closed at night and, when I came downstairs this morning to find it was 17C, I turned the thermostat up a notch. It is now a toasty 18C! It's not as though I'm on the breadline but I'm not keen to contribute to energy firms profits.

It will be a quiet day of finishing off the papers and a bit of gardening and I may do a bit of baking.

greyduster, best wishes for the baby, care of prematures seems to have come on in leaps and bounds in recent years.

Have a good day all.

Stilllearning Sun 18-Sept-22 09:40:10

Morning from S Lanarkshire, finding the mental adjustment to a cool house quite challenging!

No fixed plans today, church soon and then we’ll see. I think I’ll wrap up and continue much needed garden tidying. I’ve got a delicious chicken stir fry from our excellent butcher for dinner to look forward to!

Will be thinking about the precious new baby boy Greyduster

Best wishes for a good day all???

Kalu Sun 18-Sept-22 09:48:45

Just noticed your post Greyduster. I sincerely hope this little boy will thrive from strength to strength.

Grammaretto Sun 18-Sept-22 09:49:14

Wishing the precious new baby well Greyduster smile

Georgesgran Sun 18-Sept-22 09:49:36

Best wishes Grey for the little one.
Hope your DD can get some rest Ginster - we used to joke that Hospitals are the worst place when your ill, as there’s no sleep for all the noise. Hope things improve soon.

Taichinan Sun 18-Sept-22 09:50:00

Good morning all from a very cold and grey Angus coast where I have given in and have switched the heating on for an hour! So much for good intentions hmm. So a quick second cup of coffee before I dive into the shower while the chill is off the air. Had a lovely lunchtime catch-up with Dancing GD and her friend yesterday - they're lovely company. I then had a Chinese take-away for my tea, so a very decadent day all told!
Good that things are moving ahead for you Mick - and good advice from others to take your sister with you to the appointment if you can - I know I never pick up everything I'm told!
Gingster flowers and I hope your DD can get home to her own bed soon.
Lots of you seem to be having some lovely family time today which I know you will enjoy.
My forgetory is well developed today and having read all the posts I now find that I can't remember who is doing what, so I'll finish here and wish you all happy holidays and safe travels and a relaxing Sunday. Me? Housework and packing ahead of leaving on Tuesday for my week with DS2 and family so that I can get immersed in the state funeral tomorrow without too much worrying. Have a good day all x

cornergran Sun 18-Sept-22 09:53:19

?greyduster for the little one and you all.

Blossoming Sun 18-Sept-22 09:55:07

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy and damp in this corner of Lancashire today.

I’m glad you have your rebooked appointment Mick.

A quiet Sunday for Mr. B and I, we have a few appointments in the coming week. Bacon rolls for brunch in a little while, a regular Sunday treat.

Thank you for the beautiful photo Grannydinosaur, very uplifting on a dark grey morning.

Hope there’s some good news today Greyduster and Gingster.
I hope we can all find a ?or two?? today.

hollysteers Sun 18-Sept-22 10:15:15

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Had my flu jab yesterday and no ill effects so far, fingers crossed. Lots of people and no hanging about, well organised.
Had a walk about the village and popped into the waiting rooms to view the books left for people to take, a nice idea.
Returned to car to find my electric windows are not working, hope it’s a fuse and easily sorted, they are stuck halfway now.
My daughter in Windsor has FaceTimed me there and i could see the flowers and sort of be with her at the castle.
The cortège goes past her flat tomorrow, but she as cabin crew, is working and will miss it. Her road closed off.
Good to have your date Mick and thoughts to Gingster and Greyduster

ShazzaKanazza Sun 18-Sept-22 10:19:43

Greyduster I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that darling little baby and sending ? to your family x
