Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Yesterday I, too, was absorbed in the pomp and ceremony most of the day. A fitting day for a remarkable lady.
Good luck with your house hunting GrandMattie. The bags are delightful and safe journey. Also Good luck with your appointments today Mick
Today our car goes in for a service, then a designer is going to give us ideas for our bathroom this morning and this afternoon I have an appointment with my hairdresser.
I, too, would be inclined to let the problem with your flat slide Ashcombe somethings are worth fighting for, others not!
Have the best day possible folks

Good Morning Tuesday 20th September 2022
(47 Posts)Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s brightening in South Yorkshire. Hope your appointments go well! Mick. I have to go for an X-ray today so I will go to the hospital on the bus. Not ideal because it takes an age, but it is door to door and I don’t want to drive because parking is a nightmare. If I have enough time I will stop off in town to look for some knitting wool. Winter project!
Have a good day, one and all.
Good morning everyone, a bright start here in my corner of Wiltshire.
Dog walker taking DDog out this morning, I’m off to meet friends for coffee and having lunch with one of them.
I watched all of yesterday’s proceedings, what an incredible event for a remarkable lady.
So poignant too, especially with the fell pony Emma and the corgis.
Apparently it was watched worldwide by over 6.5bn people.
Good morning from a dry NE where it promises to be 17 degrees.
I watched the funeral but tried to do paperwork as well so that I wasn't just sitting.
I did get the laundry done but did not manage the ironing because I did not realise the TV coverage would be so long.
Had an early night, for me, and slept for eight hours, now I feel ready to face the ironing.
Have a good day everyone.
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a grey chilly Hull. We are holding off putting the heating on until we come home from hols early October.
Thinking of you today at your appointment Mick and thoughts to you Ladyleftfieldlover as you wait for your CT results.
Safe travels GrandMattie and Granmadinosaur.
Today I’m getting my uncles shopping and picking Mum up and taking her for what is probably her last fortnight stay at her caravan. The park closes late October. Visiting my uncle he’ll be full of chat about ‘he can’t understand why the queen didn’t get buried in a cemetery.’ Mum warned me that’s what he’d talk about.
I’ll tell him ‘for the same reason you don’t want to be Uncle because it’s too cold in the ground’. He wants his ashes to come to my house apparently. Bless him.
Yesterday was an absolute spectacle of colour and music. The family were marvellous and it was wonderful to watch and so moving. I was in awe of those 8 bearers as well.
Have a good day everyone and hope those feeling unwell or stressed have some respite today. ??
Good morning all and I too have that strange unsettled feeling after all the events yesterday. ?. What a wonderful goodbye! ❤️.
We took little DGD to see her mum, who is feeling much better. Sees the consultant today.
She’s in a room with an elderly lady, who I smiled at and said good afternoon to as we went in. Poor lady looks very poorly.
After a while her son came in and I knew him straight away. I used to play Bridge with him and then realised the poorly lady had been my Bridge teacher. Oh my goodness what a shock. I would never have recognised her. I last saw her before lockdown and she was a healthy, tall, straight backed , extremely clever lady. ?. How sad!
I think a mixture of yesterday, Dd and this lady has made me feel very unsettled.
Love to all ?
Good morning .
It’s looking a little chilly outside so will have to think what to wear today.
We are going out for lunch with DGS1 and then he decided it might be fun to have a game of Crazy Golf. I hope it will be fun and not a competition between him and Grandad.
Good luck with the hospital appointments and thoughts with all who are troubled in any way.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. The temperature is creeping back up and we're promised 18° today.
Volunteering in the charity shop as it's Tuesday.
DH has his Covid booster later. I'm too young to book for mine yet.
Love to all ? x
Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset
We also watched the goodbye to the Queen yesterday. I slept between the two services. Not intentional, just feel worn out with a fibro flare up that doesn’t seem keen to leave.
Pottering this morning then a hospitals visit, a 12 month check on my tkr. I’m sure all is fine as it works very well, the x-ray and chat with the surgeon will confirm.
Hope you like the complex if not the apartments grandmattie, important your new home is right for you. Safe trip home grandmadinosaur. I know exactly what you mean about not taking on too many battles ash, pleased you had a good journey home.
Have as good a day as you can everyone. Hope Monday is kind to us all.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A grey morning so far.
I managed to watch the funeral and do a 5 mile hike yesterday. Perhaps this is the post covid energy boost I was told about
Not much on the agenda for today. I have to prepare for a new helper who is staying for 2 weeks. I must get some jobs lined up for him.
I'm glad your journey was smooth Ash and hope yours is too gMattie.
I hope the hospital appointments go well Mick . You seem to have plenty of them.
Good wishes to all those with worries today.
Morning all from a currently cool West Oxfordshire. The usual weekly shop today, a day late. I also have a final bag of things to take to a charity shop. As Urms says, a new King and a new PM. What will become of us all? We are going to Norfolk on Friday for a week so should start thinking about that. However, my mind is mainly on what my CT scan results might be! Have a good day everyone.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s grey but bright if that makes any sense.
Beechnutella came to watch the Queens funeral with me and she too said the roads were quiet. I found it very sad to see the Queen’s crown being lifted from her coffin.
Off swimming this morning and making an appointment for my car’s MOT. Then I’ll carry on with my tidying up outside and my garage now that Beechnutella has helped me move some stuff.
Hope all goes well for hospital appointments today ?
Yes Urms I feel the same today - unsettled. You worded it well x
No Matt.
A strange feeling of ‘change’ this morning. A new King and a new Prime Minister. I feel in uncharted waters.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester. We will be taking my stepfather to the M&S Food Hall near him for a good shop. We’ve been away in Málaga so long he tells me his freezer is nearly empty!
Hope all goes well today for you Mick. Glad your journey home went well Ash with very quiet roads.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright and what looks to be a sunny south Hants ?
Mick I hope your appointments go well.
Ashcombe Glad you had a good trip home. Your stop off was near to me!
grandMattie Hope the viewings go well, although it’s a shame they’re not 2 bedrooms apartments as they will probably be smaller size wise and so may not give you a true picture. Safe journey home.
Greyduster hope the little one is making steady progress and his parents are ok.
Yesterday was a sombre day, spent by the TV (albeit 2 walks for the DDog). Both services were beautiful and well reported by the BBC. There were quite a few moments when I shed tears. Everyone that took part to make it such a momentous occasion did so well. A day never to be forgotten.
Have a good day everyone, whatever you’re doing.
Hugs and ? for you all.
Morning all
All the very best with the tests, Mick, and for your DH, monk.
Glad travel went well Ashcombe. I understand how you just have to set limits on how much one can "hassle".
grandMattie, you are now doing what i need to do in maybe 6 months: face the "better move to a flat". I hope you find that 2 bedroomed one: one wants to either put up guests or have a hobbies room.
A beautiful sunrise: a pink sky with just a few clouds.
I'm shaking off an awful dream, fading as I hit my second latte.
I'm taking my car early for spray repairs and am nervous as tho its a good deal, its not a "Well Known Garage". A friend has told me to look for "overspray" in my inspection after wards, so of course I had to google it. You cant see it, its rough to the hand.
A little later I have a 1 2 1 with the chair of the Governors I'm on as a newbie - its a postponed "get to know me for the first time" zoom so best blouse on top half and read up first.
Bests for poorlies and struggling.
Good morning from sunny Menorca.
What a fitting farewell to the Queen that was. Just a lovely service. One of the moments that got me was seeing her horse and the corgis. ?
We are hoping to have a dip in one of the jacuzzis this morning then back to the room to finish packing. We will then go out to have a lunch that will keep us going as we will be picked up for our return flight late afternoon. If all on time it will be straight to bed when we get home about midnight.
All the best for your appointments Mick
Good morning all from the Black country.
DH has cardio appointment this morning for his ICD monitor check up, we have to be there 15mins before so he can have an ECG taken.
While we are there I hope to catch up with ex work colleagues.
Those bags are delightful and something the recipients can make use of, well done you and Iris.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Take care all and enjoy your Tuesday, may you all find some ?.
Good morning from my last day in Bristol.
All the very best for your appointments today, Mick.
Iris and I were left to our own devices for most of yesterday. At nearly 10, she isn’t interested in QE II’s funreal apart from the horses, so we watched a littof the two cortèges, only to be disappointed in the lack of equines…. We did, however, spend most of it sewing the party bags from scraps. They look fantastic. She happily helped me and filled them with her goodies.
For dinner, we went to Cleveden for fish and chips, a meal I’d normally forgo as I don’t much like too much fried food, but I was hungry.
This morning, DD is taking me to view two apartments in a retirement complex. Neither are suitable having only one bedroom, as I want two, for use by DS when he is in this country, and for all my craft/sewing, etc. but it’ll give me an idea of what they are like, and I can be surreptitiously vetted…
I shall take the train home straight after.
Hope all journeys were successful, all poorly people feeling more comfortable, and everyone having contentment in their lives.
Carpe diem/horam. ???❤️???
Good morning from a fine but slightly chilly Torbay.
We had an excellent journey home, thanks to lighter traffic than normal, which wasn’t surprising. Some food outlets were open at Rownhams Services on the M27, as the manager had assured me by email beforehand. Leons served up some breakfast items and I enjoyed a Vegan sausage muffin.
Much to do back at my flat as my decorator had treated the mould and painted my back bedroom while we were away. Some may recall the issue caused by poor practice on the part of builders undertaking the conversion to flats in the other half of this building. They’ve refused to accept responsibility for causing the damp to get in so I’m left with the problem. With my imminent heart treatment, I can’t be bothered to take it further.
Good luck at the hospital, Mick. Wishing everyone a good day, whatever your plans.
?????
