You made me laugh SunshineSally!
Grandmabatty a neighbour of ours in Málaga has put his house up for sale in Pitlochry! It’s a small world isn’t it?

Good Morning Wednesday 21st September 2022
(48 Posts)P.s. momb it is lovely to hear from you with your update on the Ukrainian family. I think you’ve been so very kind sharing your home for so long and I’m sure the little family have felt safe and supported by you and your husband.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and looks like a lovely autumn day. I think it's called a kipper sky. Thank you for all your welcome back posts. You are a lovely lot! Cornergran good news about yesterday's check up.
Yesterday was art class. We are contributing to an online art exhibition in aid of Parkinson's and I finished my last two pieces. A pear -which I'm very pleased with - and a winter woodland scene. My dgs1 thinks it is the trees from Stickman!
Today I'll visit mum then my friend and her partner. Then dd is nipping up after nursery with the birthday gift she and son in law got me. It's an air fryer and I'm delighted. I don't want ornaments or 'stuff' so I'm very glad for practical gifts and experiences. My dear friend and her partner took me to Pitlochry last week and thoroughly spoiled me. I hope you have a good day all
grandMattie
you sound so strong and resilient. I am full of admiration. I hope you will be happy in Bristol.
Wonderful news about the little one Greyduster x
Urms I’m also a stone heavier than DH ? - although I have been giving him an extra spoonful of sugar in his tea, in a bid to make him catch up ?. Sadly it’s not worked - though he does say I make the best cuppa!
Good morning all from a bright Glasgow, where its 10°C.
Thats good news about your cardiac appointment Mick, your clinicians must be pleased with your progress, to give you a long gap between appointments.
GM, you are having a such a frustrating time at the moment.
Does it have to be that particular complex, are there are other suitable ones to consider, especially, when you are used to having lots of space?
Please take things slowly, as others have said, you don't seem entirely won over.
I was so pleased to hear some positive news about the wee baby Greyduster, but sorry to hear you had such a tiring day.
I had planned to take bags (of shoes) to the charity shop today, but have put it off. I'm having an RA flare up and suffering a bit, so I won't be doing much today.
I did some batch cooking yesterday, but heaven knows where I will put it, the freezer is full to the gunnels and the one in the garage is full of home made ice cream. I have got bit carried away with the gelato making!
My latest idea is limoncello ice cream, but I'm unsure if the alcohol will prevent it freezing.
The glut of apples is still taunting me, however, I have found a recipe for apple and oat biscuits, but won't be doing it today.
For those on holiday, enjoy and thinking of all the poorly ones.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
Thank you for your comments. I make myself happy wherever I live. I’ve had to in my early married life when we moved every 4 years or less,
The village is absolutely beautiful, the garden are stunning, the grounds are enormous with wonderful views over Bristol and a 10 minute walk from Henleaze, if that means anything to anyone. The trouble is that I don’t want to move again after this - moving is so traumatic, so I shall take whatever is on offer as long as I have space for my sewing machine…
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Mild again today which is just as well because I still have no boiler.
My new Helper is due today. I am supposed to start volunteering on Wednesday at the community store but can't do everything.
Yarn group this morning. I haven't touched my knitting for weeks
I hope the moths haven't moved in.
Poor Mick you are being given the run around.
I have already advised gMattie that a tiny retirement flat is not for her
My mum found herself a housing association flat when she was in her 60s. It was all age community mostly 1 bedroom but not all. She had a ground floor and her own private garden. She was happy there for 25 years.
Greyduster such good news about the tiny baby
I shall read more later but had better face the day!
Good morning Mick and everyone from a brightening south Hants ?
Mick Glad yesterday went well although how frustrating to have last minute changes to upcoming appointments. Hopefully you’ll have confirmation soon.
grandMattie I had a feeling they’d be small. Please don’t settle for somewhere you’re not happy. This is an important move for you and even a 2 bedroom apartment (did you get to see a 2 bedroom to compare?) will feel small compared to what you are used to. Do have a look at Rightmove and perhaps register with some estate agents if you haven’t already.
cornergran and Pittcity I hope the medical appointments go well today.
Need to fit in a trip to Costco today or tomorrow. Will see the DGDs this afternoon after school. Other than that, it’s a fairly quiet day today.
Have the best day you can everyone ??
Hugs and ?for you all x
Here’s Matt.
Good morning everyone from a sunny south Manchester where it’s also mild. Lovely while it lasts.
I had an NHS appointment late morning with my hygienist today for a ‘deep clean’ recommended by my NHS dentist. I think it’s also known as root planing. Eddie knows what a wuss I am so I know he’ll be as gentle as he can. I might get offered local anaesthetic. It might be in two sessions - one side of the mouth today and then another appointment for the other side. We shall see.
Also I’ve been prescribed Orlistat to aid weight loss by the advanced nurse practitioner at my GP surgery yesterday. She weighed me and I have to go on a very low fat diet using these tablets. I’m a bit apprehensive to be honest. I’m going to have to Google stuff like mad - can I go for a curry on Sunday? I think I already know the answer. Wish me luck everyone it’s not nice being a stone heavier than Himself. Oh and alcohol is pretty much off the menu. ‘An occasional glass’. Sigh.
Book club tonight in the pub opposite. I’ll be the one drinking lime and soda then.
Be careful grandMattie. “Please others and you displease yourself” comes to mind. You already don’t like the set up I think a posh development with a restrictive set of rules is going to irritate the hell out of you. Think long and hard at home about this won’t you?
Good morning from a bright Torbay.
I hope you soon have some clarity about your hospital appointments, Mick. Admin do seem to create muddles. I have an ENT clinic appointment this afternoon at Torbay Hospital, booked before I went to France. On arrival home on Monday, I found a letter with one for that afternoon for the same clinic!! Luckily, I got through to someone on the phone to sort it out.
Could you research other properties, grandMattie, as suggested by cornergran? Before settling in my current flat, I considered similar places to the one you’ve visited but I felt they weren’t right for me. I’m now in a block of seven with neighbours of various ages which I enjoy. They all work and one is a young mother with two delightful girls aged four and six. Everyone is friendly and supportive. I’m now the oldest resident and I’ve been here the longest, nearly eight years!
My fourth Covid vaccination this morning at last, it now being 10 months since the third one!
Happy hump day! ?????
Morning all
Blue sky and sun is chasing away the clouds, another warm day here 20’ I am off to the gym and then sort some clothes out for our trip away.
grandMattie you do not seem very enthusiastic about your prospective home ?
Enjoy the mild weather those who have it ??♀️
Good morning all from the Black country.
DH hospital appointment went well they may up one of his tablets but need to speak to consultant first. Apparently his heart rate was very high on the 9th may at 7.30am, isn't it marvellous they tell all this via wi fi. Big brother watching?. They wanted to know if there was any reason why, but as we had just come off holiday and he was asleep at that time in the morning he must have been his dreaming. Anyway his ICD didn't come into use so nothing to alarming. Will see him in 3mths.
Picking up little one from nursery today, then out for a carvery later.
Hope you travels go well today grandMattie .
Enjoy your Wednesday everyone and may you all find some ?.
Good Morning All
A very overcast day, from South Yorkshire, but no rain until Monday: even at this time of year, the garden is beginning to need some. (Its big, and watering tedious with hose pipe ban).
I’ve no car till tomorrow, and got cabin fever, so shall splash out on a taxi to the gym for r and r and the usual faces for natters.
I hope you have a good day in Bicester Mick after yesterday’s frustrations. I had to look up where it was.
Enjoy your lunch Ladyleftfieldlover
I hope you are vetted successfully grandmulch and travel is without incident, and cornergran I’m so very glad you dont have to go back.
May your todays be as good as they can be.
LLFL how did your meal go at the Pub ( that had the electrical fire) ? It sounds as though it was our local village pub.
We missed their reopening as we are still away.
Good morning all! An empty day for me today thankfully. Lots of jobs I need to do but great to have no fixed points. Our UA family have been with us for four and a half months now. We are beginning to look for possible places they could live independently which is difficult in the Lake District. We will miss them enormously when they do move out but we are also getting tired. Looking forward to tomorrow as meeting old friends and having a walk in North Yorkshire and lunch out. Hope everyone has a peaceful day.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. No idea what the weather is going to do today, it all seems a bit dark and gloomy out there. The trip to the hospital yesterday was trial, the bus was very late, it’s a long ride, and both walk-in clinics full to bursting but got into conversation with a lovely lady on a neighbouring chair and it helped to pass the time for us both. I was exhausted when I got home, though. DS rang for a chat in the evening and then my nephew phoned to say his new premie grandson is making great progress, taking milk expressed from his mum, and has been out of his incubator for short periods so that they can hold him. He weighs all of two pounds, bless him ?.
I have to go this morning, but really need to do some cleaning this afternoon, and start shopping around for insurance renewals.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from a calm Pollensa, too early to see what the weather will be but they forecast cloud.
It was another sit by the pool with a book day yesterday, today we are going to Alcudia old town for a wander and lunch. Our cleaner surprised us yesterday with a huge paper package containing an enormous pastry covered in icing sugar, not sure what it was but it was very nice, I offered her a cup of tea but she looked at me aghast and asked for water…..
Pleased your cardio was good Mike not so good about the JR appointment problem.
Granmattie please make sure you are happy wherever you go and have plenty of room for your sewing. They do say not to rush into anything after a bereavement, maybe we are too easily persuaded that something is right, because we have no fight left in us. But at least you can have a think about it when you return home.
Hope everyone finds something to smile about today and hugs for those who are so chipper.
Good morning from a brightening Colchester. 20° and dry is the forecast.
I have a blood test before our regular coffee meetup in the city centre. Both are 10 minutes walk from home.
Love to all ? x
Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, chilly corner of Somerset.
Successful tkr check yesterday afternoon. Surgeon delighted with his handiwork as indeed am I. No need to return. More medical stuff today. Mr C has two fortunately local hospital appointments this morning, a blood test for me this afternoon.
What a shame about the constant changes Mick, hope there’s clarity very soon. A positive cardiac outcome though. I don’t know what to say about your search for a new home grandmattie, other than the complex you saw doesn’t sound to have won you over. Is it worth researching others? Rightmove or similar could help. I’d hate for you to move and be miserable. Safe and trouble free trip today.
Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire, where I’m still in bed! OH and I are out for lunch again today - this time with the U3A lunch group. After that I have more WI admin to do before this evening’s meeting. Someone is coming to talk about their experience working at the BBC. I arranged my covid and flu jabs yesterday for a couple of weeks time. OH has already had his which might be due to him being over 70 and asthmatic, which I’m not. Have a good day everyone.
Good or I guess from a dawning Bristol. It is very chilly in these increasingly dark mornings.
I’m sorry that JR is playing silly b….rs with your appointments, Mick, it is very unsettling.
I’m still in Bristol. The viewing went well and, although the place is lovely, the apartments are minute. It feels that it is like boarding school with pretentious. One is expected to be totally dependent for everything. There did appears to be space for even a washing machine, and certainly nowhere to dry the washing. But DD seemed very happy with the place, so I’ll go with it. I’m on the list for a two bed place, but need vetting. The manager’s word is non negotiable!
I got to the station to find that there were problems with overhead lines an I needed to change all over. Offered a bed for an extra night, I accepted gratefully.
We spent the afternoon taking stuff to charity shops and schools, etc.
Home today, whatever the trains do.
Have a good day. Carpe diem/horam.?????
Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays appointments went well , although the path lab was closed I still did the blood samples all four .
Cardiac went OK next one there in 2 years .
But when I got home my appointment at the JR ,has changed again so I emailed them to find out which one including new one should I attend .
Today , I plan to go to Bicester on the bus and do a catch up .
Take Care,
Mick
