Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays appointments went well , although the path lab was closed I still did the blood samples all four .
Cardiac went OK next one there in 2 years .
But when I got home my appointment at the JR ,has changed again so I emailed them to find out which one including new one should I attend .
Today , I plan to go to Bicester on the bus and do a catch up .
Take Care,
Mick

Gwenisgreat it’s the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, it’s a nightmare to get to in a car, I expect Mike will get a bus, much more sensible.

I think it was called the JR to differentiate it from the John Radcliffe Hospital which was actually in Oxford, however the University wanted it back some years ago and everyone has moved to the JR in Headington.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Hull.
A late one for me as I’m in the hairdressers having my roots done and I like to save my good morning read.

Mick pleased your appointment went well yesterday.

grandMattie I’m sure you’ll pass a vetting process with flying colours you are so lovely.

Greyduster such good news about that tiny baby. May he gain strength every day.

Ginny your winter decoration is very pretty.

Hope all hospital appointments and flu and covid jabs go well.

We are picking up DGS from school. We have permission to park on the school grounds now so we are close to him and to save my blood pressure every time he is near the road.

Thinking of you all today and thoughts to those suffering illness and stress??

Ah Chatsworth Harris. Was there last Friday on a lovely sunny day. It positively glowed in the sunshine after its huge restoration a few years back. It's looking fabulous. One of my favourite places. (And the farm shop!) Have a lovely day there.

Good Morning everyone. I’m off to the podiatrist shortly and hope to be finished so that we both can collect DD and SiL from the airport. I’ve said all along that if I’m running late, I’ll simply get a taxi home and DD is perfectly capable and has a key, should they need to get a taxi but DH seems to be stressed about it.

GrandMattie, I hope you are happy with whatever you decide to do. A friend in similar circumstances here decided to spend two or three months with her daughter in England while she made up her mind as to where she wanted to live. She came back then and said that for the foreseeable future, she had decided to live in Portugal. So difficult for you.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny with white cloud in this corner of Lancashire today.

Glad your appointments went well Mick, hope you get the other one sorted.

Yesterday’s hospital visit went well. Mr. B’s suspected ingrown toenail turned out to be a tiny spur, speedily removed, and his feet were declared otherwise healthy. My bloods were taken with minimal bruising and now I just have to wait for the results.

Shopping and housework today, cycling and Gaelic as usual.

Good news about the little one Greyduster

Have a good day all ???

Good morning all from a grey dreich Lincolnshire. A very good, smooth journey down yesterday which I enjoyed, and so lovely to see this little bit of my family.
Like others I'm a wee bit concerned about your lack of enthusiasm for your prospective new home grandmattie. I think you may be in that awful grey empty stage of grief where nothing matters except getting through another day, and you'll agree to anything. Please don't make any hasty decisions. On the other hand, it does sound a lovely place ...... just so long as you wait for that two bed apartment to become available.
So happy to hear that your nephew's tiny grandson is doing so well Greyduster. I was trying to work out what relation he is to you. Great-great nephew? So lovely anyway, and I hope you get to meet him soon.
Now I must take my lazy holiday self off to get showered and dressed, making sure I don't disturb DGD, who has a day off from her Sixth Form College today. I asked what she does when she has a day off and she said "Sleep!". Of course, silly me grin
Have a lovely day everyone and may everything go smoothly for you x

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Dh is packing like mad -I sorted out my stuff last night when he was watching TV. We are off to Scarborough to stay with DSL for a few days. It was difficult getting ready, the painter was here til 8pm last night!! Haven’t read many posts Will read them in the car.
Glad you’ve got the cardiac test out of the way, Mick. But JR (what does that stand for?) seem to be in a bit of a guddle with your appointments. Hope they get yours sorted out.
GrandMattie. keep looking, you are not happy with that complex.!
Once you have compared a few, you will see what’s right for you.
Have the best day possible folks

grandMattie Wed 21-Sept-22 09:46:01

Sunshine? There are 27 acres of landscaping and plenty of nooks and crannies for sunning oneself. There is a chapel, a swimming pool, a gym, cafe/restaurant, minibus…. Everything except large rooms in apartments, so I just have to get my head round it.

Good morning everyone from a bright Co Armagh, off to our Village club soon , it’s great to get it going again , last week I forgot to put in my hearing aids ! Made for an interesting morning ?

luluaugust Wed 21-Sept-22 09:40:12

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Quiet day but have to phone poor friend who has gone down with Covid for the first time. She only caught it helping out another friend, talk about no good deed goes unpunished!
grandMattie the situation of the flats sounds lovely, I would be interested in who the other residents are and could I fit in.
I know they say wait a year after a bereavement but that can't apply to everyone.
Marydoll it sounds like you could feed half of Glasgow, I've been dealing with a load of cooking apples too.
Best wishes to all.

hollysteers Wed 21-Sept-22 09:14:20

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast. Off now to take the car to the garage as the electric windows have stopped working. Was about to take it into the car wash yesterday and suddenly remembered they were stuck halfway…
Will take the opportunity for a tidy up today. Every day seems full when I look in my social diary? and I’m not sure how to fit everything in.
Music club good yesterday, but there’s always a fly in the ointment, this time an interfering newcomer who seems to look for trouble.
Thoughts to gransnetters and their DDs having treatment and to grandmattie
Will read through properly later.

Greyduster Wed 21-Sept-22 09:11:17

Harris Chatsworth is our “next door” stately home. I hope you have a good day there. Both the house and gardens are fabulous - especially the rock gardens.

Jaxjacky Wed 21-Sept-22 09:10:14

Good morning all from a sunny south Hampshire, good news on your cardio Mick.
You sound like you’re ‘making do’ gMattie, you’ve had an horrendous time over the last year, I’d be biding my time, but then I’m not you.
Cheering news greyduster plucky youngster.
Drive to do today, a bit of washing, a spot of gardening. We had a great time last night at a quiz evening with my son,his gf and our friend. My son and I set each other off laughing until we cry, good for the soul.
Have your best day all ??

EkwaNimitee Wed 21-Sept-22 09:00:18

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny-ish Carlisle.
I'm off out shortly to buy a small freezer to put in my garage. A fridgefreezer came with this family-sized house but it's inadequate for one person. If I have a baking session or family comes, it's a real struggle to get things in. I had a tidying and clearing out session in the garage yesterday so there's plenty of space available for one.

You've had a lot of good advice grandMattie which I agree with. One thing, which may not be so important to you, will the new place get sun in somewhere? When you're too old and feeble (maybe!) to get out and about, a patch of sunlight to sit in would be very uplifting. You do sound a positive person determined to make things work though. I had such a friend and she did make it work for her and was happy sewing away in her little flat.

I also had a series of problems after DH died harrigran. I used to joke about him setting me these challenges to see how I would cope! Though I'm sure he knew I would.

Have a good day all.

GrannySomerset Wed 21-Sept-22 08:55:55

Well, here I am, not on a little holiday but at home with four empty days and a posse of men digging up the drive. My new hearing aids mean I can hear the pneumatic drill anywhere in the house, so I am less than enchanted with life. In the meantime I must put some plans in place, though today it will be hard to get out of the house, so will have to do something Useful and Domestic.

Lovely autumn morning so hope everyone has a good day with plans that work out.

BlueSapphire Wed 21-Sept-22 08:51:55

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, set to stay like it all day; at least it's not raining.

Coffee with the neighbours this morning (and hoping she has made her famous coffee cake!) where we will set the world to rights for a couple of hours. Then after lunch I must pop to Sainsbury's to get something for DD's 10th wedding anniversary tomorrow.

An early tea, then out to our ladies' wine club tonight; looking forward to that, especially as we now meet every 3 months instead of monthly. Wondering which wine has been chosen to taste. We are lucky indeed that none of us has to drive to meetings - there are two or three very obliging husbands who take it in turns to drive us there and back!

Hoping that all our Wednesdays are enjoyable and go to plan.

Abitbarmy Wed 21-Sept-22 08:47:30

Good morning everyone from a very sunny and fresh Lyme Regis. We are staying in a little flat overlooking the sea, the view is wonderful. Going for a long walk along the tops today then back along the beach. Probably fish and chips for tea. Everything is very expensive here compared with our corner of North Yorkshire but to be expected I suppose in such a lovely area. Have as lovely a day as possible everyone.

Urmstongran Wed 21-Sept-22 08:42:11

I’m happy to sacrifice space for location. ?

harrigran Wed 21-Sept-22 08:37:18

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Having my flu vaccination at lunchtime, SIL is taking me before we do the grocery shopping.
Spent yesterday ironing and sorting paper to take to recycling bins at Sainsbury. I have heard that they have been removed from several supermarket car parks so I am hoping our local one still has them.
Video recorder is playing up and has not been recording my soaps, the recording red light was flashing all day, had to reach behind the TV stand to pull the plug out and then replace it. The light stopped flashing but whether it records is another matter. Just seems to be one annoyance after another at present.
grandMattie I admire your determination to move, not sure I would be happy in a very small flat as I like my space.
Good news about the new baby greyduster.

Gala Wed 21-Sept-22 08:25:40

Good morning from a bright & (sunny at the moment) Sefton, though I can see a lot of grey cloud.
Another late lie for me & I've managed to sleep right through, definitely getting the hang of this.
Zoom exercise class, then flu jab this morning. Afternoon tea on a boat tootling round the docks with the local Lions later.
Take care all.

baubles Wed 21-Sept-22 08:19:08

Good morning all from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

DH and I had a a very enjoyable tootle around the west end yesterday. The streets were thronged with young people now that the university term has begun, it felt so hopeful and vibrant. Good for the soul.

Today I have a telephone appointment with someone from Occupational Health regarding my return to work, I’ve no idea what to expect.

Delighted to hear that the little baby is doing well Greyduster.

Mattie, I love your positive attitude.

Good wishes to everyone dealing with medical issues, there seems to be a few.

Have the best day possible everyone.

ginny Wed 21-Sept-22 08:14:00

Good morning everyone.
Lovely day yesterday with DGS 1. We all had fun at the crazy Pirate golf and a nice lunch. His actual birthday is today, where did those 20 years go?
Smallest DGS here for and hour or so this morning and then craft club this afternoon. We will be making these. I’m calling them winter decorations for now !
Pleased to hear the little baby is doing well and send thoughts to others feeling under par. Hope Wednesday is good to you all.

Harris27 Wed 21-Sept-22 07:53:55

Off to work soon. Grandmattie think carefully before agreeing to a place your not completely happy with. It’s still your life you choose. Two days left then I’m off for a long weekend. Do still like my job but it is tiring. We’re off to Chatsworth Friday as a treat looking forward to it.

brook2704 Wed 21-Sept-22 07:48:21

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s much brighter with a bit of blue sky and a bit warmer too
Good news about the new baby greyduster so pleased he’s doing well
Hoping all the medical appointments today go well for all
Today I’m off to the gym for a couple of classes and then having lunch with my friend. We’ll probably spend most of the afternoon chatting and then I’ll pop to Tesco for a few things
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
