Covid jab side effects.

We both had Spikevax yesterday (5th injection for him and 4th for me) - apart from a slightly achy arm there have been no side effects for either of us.
We had the flu jab last week and had no side effects at all for that.

I tested positive for Covid at the beginning of August. I am sure that it was thanks to the vaccine that this turned out to be no worse than a mild summer cold, despite my age and being asthmatic.

Had the double dose yesterday (flu in left arm, covid moderna in right arm.). Right arm is slightly achy, and I am extremely tired today, find that doing about ten or fifteen minutes of light housework, really exhausts me. Sure this will pass within a day or two. We are so very fortunate to have these clever scientists who have produced and modified these vaccines. So grateful to them.

I had a booster dose yesterday and was told it was Moderna( had Pfizer on previous occasions) my ex partner was handed a leaflet after his which said “read before using” ? it was called Spikevax ! - a bit unfortunate that. After consulting Google it turns out it is Moderna but with specific anti- omicron added.
Anyhow: woke with a very dead and achey arm this morning, pain around my eye sockets and flushed cheeks. Took 2 Ibuprofen and it has largely worn off now.

Had my 5th covid jab plus the flu jab yesterday- Saturday- when the doctor called at my home, due to my age because I am disabled and housebound.

I have never had any re-action to them in the past but they have made me very tired this time plus arms are a bit touchy.

I always think that if you have a reaction just imagine how you would have been with the disease.

We both had our booster with a flu jab on Thursday and are absolutely fine. Not even a sore arm. I don’t seem to ever get a reaction to vaccine. I sometimes wonder if it’s because I’ve had the flu jab for many years.

Slightly sore arm here, but nothing more.
After the first jab I had very flu-like symptoms that first night - very cold, shivering and shaking like mad - but oddly enough was happy about it- to me it meant the vaccine was working!

I had dreadful side effects with my first and second, which had to be reported to the Yellow Card site
I have RA, a compromised immune system and multiple comorbidities, but still intend to have my 6th dose of vaccine in a few weeks.
Being immunocompromised means that you are at greater risk of death from Covid. The vaccination will not prevent you having Covid, but will lessen the risk of death.
It's a no brainer, as far as I'm concerned.

We had ours on Tuesday and my husband had an upset stomach until yesterday, when he started to feel better.
I've just had a sore arm and a few aches.

Am so jealous of everyone having booster jabs. I had an anaphylactic shock after 2nd jab last year and can no longer have any vaccines,including the flu jab.
Really anxious about getting covid as also have asthma.

if you could see my neighbour then nothing would stop you getting that booster vaccine. He got covid at a wedding 8 days ago and I have never seen anyone so ill with such a very sore and swollen throat going downwards to his chest. I have been to his door today and left him some simple wet foods that are easy to swallow. In one week he has lost 4lb. He was active, never ill, fit. Now he can do nothing except barely step 5 yards from his house and he is bent

I was not going to get the booster but I saw my neighbour and immediately booked a booster appointment, with or without side effects. It cannot be worse than what my neighbour is going through. He says it is the worst pain he has ever had

Had Covid and flu boosters last Tuesday. Absolutely fine. Good luck with yours.

I've had reactions to all 3 vaccinations/boosters so far, but lessening in severity each time. Perhaps I won't feel anything after the 4th.

I just had my second booster yesterday + flu vaccine at same time

Arm does not hurt and no side effects so far - first time as my arm kills me the first two days and I have a mini flu

Just had both - had to queue at the surgery outside for 1.25 hours - it is a mad system. I hope that any reaction I might have will be delayed as I am going to a lovely concert tonight. Fingers crossed.

Well I have always maintained that vaccines along with antibiotics are very much an unknown quantity until you have them. No two people are the same and no-one knows what effect these things will have on a body. So we can't really compare the effects of vaccines or antibiotics.

I watched a fascinating programme about the rollout of the polio vaccine in America back in the 1950s. Everyone was desperate to immunise the children as so many were being crippled. They had to test first a group of children, then a school, and then a town. Then the numbers got bigger, until they rolled it out nationally. But those children were guinea pigs because this was a new vaccine and they were in a real hurry. Some children must have fallen ill as a result, but you could not hold back the rollout because so much was at stake.

Oh Chesnut dont let me stop you having your jab. It might not be anything to do with that. I will have mine if I can get a slot thats near my home. I think everyone should have the vac I just wondered if anyone had the same symptoms as my DH.

Oh dear, now I'm feeling anxious as mine is due 5th Oct along with the 'flu vaccine. I've never had a bad reaction to any vaccine in the past so normally I wouldn't worry.

I posted on there that I had my booster last Tuesday and was fine for over 2 days and congratulating myself on it having been really easy when I suddenly felt quite ill with a sore throat, headache, aches and pains and a feeling of "going down with something."

I thought maybe I'd caught Covid while I was at the vax centre, but tested negative, and today I feel ok and those symptoms have gone, so clearly it was a delayed reactions. I'm relieved it's nothing more.

Hi all just wanted to know if anyone has had a covid jab and had side effects. My DH who is 60 had his 3rd jab last sunday and has had a really bad upset stomach since. He hasnt eaten anything different to us and we are ok. I went to the chemist today to get some immodium and the pharmacist said it could be the jab because its a mix now. Im due a jab and am thinking I might not have it even though it will be my 5th has I have RA and my immune system is not great.

Hi Peartree, I had mine on Wednesday (my 5th one) and apart from a terribly sore and swollen arm I am fine. The pain is less now but I'd much rather that than Covid. DH had his too with no side effects. We both had the flu jab too.

I had that reaction with my second vaccination, absolutely knocked off my feet for two or three days. No reaction at all to number three and I will let you know next week how the booster goes!

I intend to have the jab , the side effects are not as bad as the actual virus
