Good morning Mick and All.

Back from an action packed few days with our DS and family.

We enjoyed ‘The Best Exotic Hotel’ performed at the theatre in Brighton. Rula Lenska was excellent together with an 85 year old actress from the soaps who stole the show.

Off to have my hair done and then to play Rummikub with my old friends. Phew, do I need to put my feet ??up !

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its currently 8°C.

Mick is there anyone who could support you with your hospital appointments? Two heads are better than one!
You seem to be in a bit of a muddle at the moment and that's not good for your wellbeing.
The sooner you are seen the better.

GM, not believing you, was upsetting, but the OT has a duty of care to your friend and legal obligations to comply with. Your home must be formally assessed to see what equipment is needed and to look for hazards in your home.
You are very generous of spirit, but it is a big undertaking. I do admire your kindness and determination.
Many on here have been involved in OT inspections for elderly family members, I was quite surprised at what was assessed.

We had a lovely day yesterday at DS2's, with the inlaws, the afternoon flew by. The wedding pictures were stunning and many were extremely atmospheric and quirky.
DS spotted one of DH and I holding hands, we don't do PDA ( public displays of affection.) I said it was to stop me falling down the vertiginous steps of the church! ?
Fortunately we made it home, just as it was getting dark, DH had a few nipy sweeties, so wouldn't have been able to drive my car!

This morning, DH plans to decorate our bedroom, it should be a fun day.
He wants me out of the way, so I shall take myself up to the peace and quiet of church and and work on collating the parish census forms. That should keep me out of trouble for the morning.

Blossoming, I hope you are feeing a bit better, nausea is so debilitating. I seem to be becoming more and more dependant on anti nausea medication these days. I can empathise with how miserable you have been feeling. ?

Best wishes to all with medical appointments and happy holidays to those who are away from home.
Have a pleasant Monday all.

Good morning from a grey, damp NE.
Slept in yesterday so spent the whole day trying to catch up.
DD and SIL came in the afternoon and we made dinner together.
After dinner we watched a film on Netflix, Love Sarah.
We were looking at classical concerts for the Spring and bought tickets to see/hear Nicola Benedetti, Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Benjamin Grosvenor. The concert is not until April but was selling out fast.
DD has hospital appointment this afternoon, she has been unwell for a while and had several appointments but problem has not been sorted. She says she is taking overnight bag, I wonder if she is anticipating some kind of procedure.
Quiet day for me as my guts are playing up.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks like it’s rained overnight but we’ve got some blue sky now
So frustrating about the appointments mick I hope you get it sorted out
Im off to the gym this morning for a couple of classes and a catch up with all my gym pals. Afterwards a trip to Tesco and that’s about it for today
Safe travels to all those on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from the Black country where we had rain overnight.
How frustrating for you Mick regarding your appointment, let's hope you can sort it out soon.
Trip to the bank today money to deposit and a bill to pay. DH will be putting results from yesterday's contest up to date and sorting any other bits out.
Safe travels those going or returning from holidays.
Enjoy your Monday and may you all find some ?.

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet corner of Somerset. Apparently there was thunder, have to take Mr C’s word for it.

Two long phone calls threw me yesterday, both contained upsetting news that I needed to process before I could easily provide the support the callers were seeking. The rest of the time was spent researching car insurance. Not the best Sunday.

Onwards today. New meters due to be fitted so no electricity for a while. I do need to phone about a cancellation hospital appointment I was offered and accepted for tomorrow. I was so taken aback at the call I didn’t ask necessary questions. Still the car insurance to sort and my mobile which isn’t doing what it should.

Hope your appointments are sorted soon mick, worrying for you. Safe trip ash and all travelling. The ballet sounds magical. Thoughts to all finding life hard going.

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

A damp start but not raining now in Oxfordshire. Such lovely weather over the weekend, autumnal but warm. We painted the shed and did lots of garden jobs yesterday, Saturday was spent with DC and GC having tea and cake.
I hope you all find some sunshine today.

Pittcity Mon 26-Sept-22 07:31:03

Good morning from rainy Colchester. Grey and 14° is today's forecast.
Laundry and packing for our trip to Seville today. We leave on Wednesday for a week and it's 30° there still.
I bought some spring bulbs in Lidl yesterday and got them planted inspired by others on this thread.
Love to all ? x

ginny Mon 26-Sept-22 07:27:15

Good morning, a dull one after more rain overnight here in N. Bucks.
DH has gone off early for golf so I am enjoying the cuppa he bought up for me.
All the appointment changes are very confusing for you Mick. My nephew is waiting for a MRI scan and the waiting time is 24 weeks! He has so many problems and things are moving so slowly.

This morning will be busy with housework. This afternoon I shall be out at my art class and I have an on line one this evening.
Love to hear of the holidays being enjoyed . DD2 is in Kenya at the moment and is sending some fantastic photos .

Wishing all a good day.

Grandmabatty Mon 26-Sept-22 07:25:54

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and with partial cloud. It's been damp in the night. I'm up early as I have a hair appointment at half eight. I have very little hair but it needs a tidy. I will have to check my central heating as it isn't switching on at all. Such a nuisance.
Yesterday I baked scones, chocolate chip cookies and a banana bread. Some days I just get the urge, despite living alone. I'll give away most of the banana bread to my sil as he loves it. The cookies will be eaten by dgs1 no doubt.
After my haircut, I'll potter at home. Dd is coming down with a piece of pecan pie and I'll give her banana bread as a swap. I might tidy the garden as it badly needs a sweep. Berries and moss underfoot. Have a good day all.

Beechnut Mon 26-Sept-22 07:22:23

Good Morning everyone from a damp Severnside.

I had a great weekend. I had planned to go out yesterday but got on so well with my Saturday jobs that I decided to stay home and finish off. As I was reading later I felt something irritating me and put my hand inside my bra and pulled out a dead leaf.

I’m off to the surgery this afternoon.

Will have my breakfast and go back to read everyone else’s Monday morning news.
Have a good day all ???

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 26-Sept-22 07:20:52

Good morning Mick and all who follow, from a soon to be sunny Pollensa, what a pain Mick and I hope a couple of phone calls will soon sort it out and get you into the Hospital.
You must be so proud Ash when our little MissOopsie went to ballet she loved it, but was at least 2 seconds behind the others and always in the wrong direction! If we had known then that she was ‘on the spectrum’ for Autism it would have saved a lot of problems, anyway we can’t all be ballerinas!
Our last day today and an early start tomorrow to the airport, I can’t wait to get home, but I’ll miss the sun and the warmth.
Have a good day everybody and I hope it’s sunny over there when we get back tomorrow morning and if the temperature could be organised to be mid twenties in Oxfordshire that would be good.

Wyllow3 Mon 26-Sept-22 07:15:22

Morning all from Co Durham where I'm due to leave soon to drive back to S Yorks. Tired but lovely time with family

What an awful muddle Mick I hope some phone calls can sort it.

A "boo" for the poor house assessment.

Very best wishes for hospital appointments, and sewing and yoga, for as easy a day as possible all. (I'm a yoga fan, btw, been doing it for 45 years but missed it all last week, my am I stiff now!)

grandMattie Mon 26-Sept-22 07:14:40

I’m so glad all went well with Swan Lake, Ash. You must all have been bursting with pride!!!

BlueBalou Mon 26-Sept-22 07:12:12

Good morning from wet Wiltshire, a very welcome rain!
Oh dear Mick how absolutely infuriating; I do hope you can get it sorted today.
Yesterday was a nothing much happening day which suited me.
Today I hope will be similar, I will do some fabric sorting for the craft group tomorrow- we’re doing Somerset patchwork next week.
I hope everyone’s day goes well x

BlueSapphire Mon 26-Sept-22 07:08:38

Good morning everyone from a grey damp Northampton. Early bus to get to yoga this morning as my friend who usually gives me a lift is away.

Busy afternoon in the garden yesterday. Cut the back grass, trimmed some of the edges, and cut back and tidied a few shrubs that were threatening to take over.
That's it for a few days as I must finish my book club read this week, so this afternoon will be spent reading.

Hope your appointments get sorted Mick. Very annoying for you.

Have a good Monday everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 26-Sept-22 07:01:23

Good morning all from a grey skied East Yorkshire.

Had a lovely lunch at the fish restaurant yesterday. DS had told me they were going for a walk in the same area after lunch. We spotted them walking past all waving to us ? we joined them for a drink after.

Today I want to have a sort through of the freezer. It needs defrosting. Also start tidying my wardrobe and getting rid of clothes that no longer fit etc.

Safe journey today shazza and your DH have a wonderful time.

Gala Mon 26-Sept-22 06:59:18

Good morning from a dark, wet & chilly Sefton.

Singing group this morning. We may sound like the local cats' chorus - our motto being Sing like nobody's listening - but we have a thoroughly enjoyable time & feel all the better for it.

Hope you get your appointments sorted Mick. This seems to happen mor e & more often to far too many people.

Take care all.

Ashcombe Mon 26-Sept-22 06:58:33

Good morning from a damp Crewe!

We slept in yesterday so I didn’t post but I did appreciate the many kind comments from people here regarding Swan Lake in which DGD performed. It was very special indeed and we felt privileged to be able to be there, along with a couple of dozen folk who were in the audience due to connections with my family, including two old friends of ours from school days (1966!) who live locally.

Nearly 100 young dancers participated alongside a few professionals who took the lead rôles. It was an admirable achievement to choreograph so many and make such a polished result within a month! We were proud and delighted.

Yesterday DH went to Stafford for a Model Railway Exhibition and today we drive back to Torbay.

I’m sorry to hear of muddled arrangements for some and hope the scan for your DH goes well today, Gingster. As for you not being believed, grandMattie….. words fail me! Perhaps such kindness is unfamiliar in their experience!

Have a good week, everyone! ?????

karmalady Mon 26-Sept-22 06:31:55

Good morning from s somerset. Still dark but I am expecting a bland cloudy day of showers

Off to a barber today to get my 6 weekly haircut, much better than any `do everything` hairdresser. Then nothing much as I have worked solid outside for days

I should do a bit in my sewing room. Need to get the mojo back

Gingster Mon 26-Sept-22 06:19:41

Good morning Mick and GM and all to follow.
Up early here as DH has an MRI booked for 7.45.

Yesterday was ‘lovely ‘ with some of the family here for an early lunch. Confusion and mis-communication due to Mercury Retrograde! According to my DIL. ?. Oh well it all turned out ok in the end! ?. Families!!!.

Raining here in Essex and very dark .

Hope your days are ok! ?

grandMattie Mon 26-Sept-22 06:10:16

Good morning from a dark, wet E Kent.
Oh, Mick, what a mess. I so hope it’s sorted soon.
Had a quiet day, and managed to do a lot of the hemming on my quilt. I might finish it before the end of the week - which is what I’m aiming for.
Today, I have the cleaner, and then a visit from the hospital occupational therapist to see if my house is suitable for my friend. If they deemed her tiny two up, two down cottage with multiple steps and stairs suitable, my house will seem a palace. They didn’t believe me over the phone…
Carpe diem. ?????

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but also dry here in brackley this morning.
Today will be sort out day as to some items of mail , I should have gone to the JR last Thursday to see consultant in coloreectal surgery, anyway due to appointment confusion did not go .
Saturday I had a letter telling me about last Thursday appointment and cancelling the October one .
The letter post dated the 20th took 4 days to get from Oxford to brackley.
Take Care,
Mick
