grin at your husband just eating it!

A satellite phone. We couldn’t find out who had ordered it.
At the time we knew an independent customs agent who would have more use for it than us.

My daughter came home to find her doorway blocked by an ottoman!
Neither the delivery company nor the makers would collect it. She took it into her hall and then spent several hours over several days trying to get it removed.
She put notices in the lobby of all neighbours but nothing.

She left it in her hall for nearly 3 months and then decided to use it.

Can only assume it is cheaper to send another out to whoever hasn't had it than it is to collect it.

Not strictly a freebie - DD2 likes coconut hair/body products and came home from work one day to find a big box of such waiting for her. Right name and address, but no details of the sender. Obviously, she asked everyone she knew, but, to this day, never found who sent the box of goodies.

My doorbell rang on Saturday lunchtime and it was a delivery from Just Eat, he showed me the receipt with the address printed on and it was for a street beginning with same five letters, obviously didn't finish typing the address into the sat navigation. I directed him to the right address, it looked like a cold meal as it wasn't in a padded bag.

My son, while a student, had a Christmas hamper wrongly delivered. They couldnt find the correct recipient, waited a week or so, and ate the contents!

It didn't happen to me, but years ago I heard a story from a co-worker. Her neighbour came home from work to find new carpet installed in her living room (these were the days before people locked their doors). It turned out that a flooring store had got the numbers wrong on the address. Imagine!

Yesterday whilst I was out my husband received a home delivered meal for two. Thinking I had ordered it for lunch ,he tucked in . When I got home later in the afternoon he realised I had not ordered it but it was delivered to the wrong address. There was no address on the parcel. We asked our immediate neighbours if it was theirs but,no, it wasn’t. I didn’t like it, it was some sort of Mexican wrap concoction but I did drink the milkshake. Have you ever had anything free , out of the blue ?
