Anyone still thinking of voting tory at the next General Election?

Why aggravate, how can you possibly know who will vote Tory?
I might have in the past and yet can sing "The red flag" from the way I was brought up, though I wouldn't think of giving the communist clenched fist salute as some did at the conference,

No I wouldn't, I didn't vote for them last time. I'm just waiting for them to say they are suspending the triple lock again

The comments about local MPs are interesting. In my case, I can't stand him, he is a very strong Brexiteer in a very safe seat so rather complacent, but even if he was charming, helpful and a 'great guy' he would still be part of the Tory administration, and by voting for this mythical great local MP, I would be supporting the rotten edifice. Pritti Patel is a nearby MP, and is reported to be a great, responsive constituency MP so do her constituents put local matters over national policy such as the vile Rwandan deal? Just an example, and please don't tell me she is no longer a member of the cabinet, but I give her as an example of the dilemma faced by the electorate. Local matters versus national good?

I have voted Tory all my life. When the general election comes round ask me again. A lot can happen in the meantime. One thing is for sure I would never vote Labour

Have always voted Tory but after Boris and then the current shambles I would not vote that way again.

Don't panic. Don't believe everything in the media. Don't you want a reduction in tax? Don't you want help with your power bills? US interest rates higher than ours. Japan having to rescue their banks. Our debt to GDP second lowest in the G7. We are not in recession a lot of Eurozone is. Give it 6-12 months then make up your mind.

The reason why Maggie Thatcher improved the finances of the country was by selling its assets. Prior to her you paid rates which included water - now the water system is privatized and separate to council tax. the majority of public transport is owned by foreign companies. Gas etc was sold off. Now the country has nothing to sell! Whoever gets in power now can't sell off what we no longer own

I have voted Conservative in the past. I too thought Rory Stewart a good MP. I don't live in that constituency any longer though. I now live in another safe Tory seat, but while we've been here I haven't voted for them.

Rory Stewart was thrown out of the party by Johnson (for being too moderate). He says that the party has effectively become fascist.

Not mad about Liz and Kwasi but I will almost certainly vote Tory in the next election but who know what will happen between now and then. I could explain why I am a Conservative, but it would take up too much space but it is to do with freedom of choice.

I won't say that I will never vote Tory again but I certainly won't vote for this shower. I will listen to all the party candidates in my area to see what they have to say but our Tory Candidate is a career politician who is a waste of space so it won't be him.

I don't see this post/thread as 'threatening' - if you don't want to answer the question, then don't, or am I quoting the bl*****g obvious? We are all volunteers.
I recall my dear old Dad saying, many years ago, that he couldn't bring himself to vote Tory, but he also couldn't bring himself to vote for 'that shower' (the then Labour Party) Consequently for the first time in his adult life he abstained. I am feeling much the same way.

Watching Question Time on catchup from Manchester- just amazing. the audience was selected to include more Tories te reflect the last GE results. 100% condemnation of what happened with last week's 'fiscal event', and every single other Tory policy.

Not a single person prepared to support any of it- not one! Now that is telling.

It’s rumoured that this shower will abandon the triple lock on pensions and not give a cost of living rise to those on benefits. This will help to pay for the recent tax cuts. Nice to know that the poor will pay for those tax cuts for the rich. The first time I voted, to my eternal shame, I voted for Thatcher because she was a woman. I have never voted Tory since and never will.

There is a website that tells you who to vote for, to make sure your non-Conservative vote has more power. I will vote as it suggests...anything but Tory.

I am horrified by what Liz Truss and her cabinet are doing. They are now talking about cutting back on benefits while giving the richest tax cuts! They have caused the threat to mortgages,pensions, further price rises and are acting completely irresponsibly. The FT said that on a scale of 1 to 10 their economic policies lie at 9.4 to the right. I have never voted Tory and am so upset by what they are doing to increase inequality in the UK. Living in Scotland gives me some hope but our government can only mitigate these policies slightly.

I only voted Tory once as I was keen for us to get out of Europe. I won’t vote for them again, I think they’ve made such a mess of everything- including Brexit!!!

I have voted Conservative all my life, but just can’t see me voting for them ever again.They had in the past been the party that didn’t do things we as a country couldn’t afford to finance.
But it is many years since that has been the thinking.
I can’t stand Liz Truss I think she is very arrogant and gives the impression she knows better than anyone at all.I watched the news yesterday.All the interviews she did I felt she couldn’t answer the questions, some of the answers were dragged out of her,it gave me the option she didn’t know how to answer very poor performance from a PM.
unfortunately whatever stand I personally make will make no difference as we have had a Labour M P for many years

Because we can see the absolute wreck the Tories have made of the UK. Whatever they say in a manifesto, isn't to be believed. What is to be believed is exactly what Jeremy Corbyn warned about before the election in 2019, that the Tories were planning to get rid of the NHS.
