I have an annoying habit of saying, Oh, ok...in response to anything I even annoy myself and I can't stop doing it

Another irritation ‘Let’s unpack the question’. ?

What irritates me is when some is about to be interviewed they say to the Interviewer (who they have never spoken to before) ‘How are you?’. There is an epidemic of strangers asking each other this question and the answer is always in the affirmative. ?

I'm not gonna lie, so if I'm being honest 'so' irritates me more than 'look' on an everyday basis.

So look, if I'm being honest, I have to say that at the end of the day he turned around and said, like, 'Yeah'. Know what I mean?

I can’t bear ‘So …’. Nor ‘If I’m being/to be honest’.

The important question is . . . . . .

is it more or less irritating than people starting every sentence with 'so'?

I watch a few Australian programmes on TV, and I have noticed that they often start a sentence with 'look'. At first I thought it sounded rude or aggressive, but have got used to it.

It feels like being spoken to by the Headmistress


They should try "Fingers on lips, eyes on me!" Works every time.

'The fact of the matter is...' or, 'Let's be honest'
Both these are usually as far from factual or truthful as you can get

‘Let me be absolutely clear…’

How about, ‘now look, the minister has been very clear…’
