I have had this a few weeks ago.,but 2 days ago.someone rang claiming to be the fraud squad from Nat West.my bank.saying someone had tried to take £3000 out of my account.( I haven't even got £3000 ) in it.and also someone claiming to be my grand daughter had transferred £300 from my account to thered. Also £250 at Argos that morning.but it had been put back.I was very worried but not noticed anything missing.
It was a Scottish accent.
He suggested I changed my account to a different one still in my name.and actually have me a new account and sort code.
I realised that a bank wouldn't do this over the ohone.and said unwanted proof it was Nat West.whereby he gave me s n 0800 no to ring.to check.
I said I would.but instead rang the bank.As I thought it was a scam
.so put the phone down.(on my landline at this point.) As he kept saying are you ringing this no,I said yes
I was right it was a scam
The day after Tehran again.saying it was the fraud squad again.and as I reported the call the day before he was
looking into it.
It is really worrying.because it is hard knowing what to believe
Thankfully I didn't give any details away
Please be careful .
I did ring the bank again, and was told it looked sevure.so he was just trying to get my details .

I think this scam has been around for several months. I have had it on email bit not my mobile phone.

Yup, and they have even translated it into Danish, although as we pay untility bills in advance here based on an estimate of our usage it does not apply.

Luckily, the did not have the sense to check that, or find out the name of our electricity company, but just used that of Denmark's largest - not the firm we use.
