Topic borrowed from MN.

My husband and I have never worn slippers since we were young children.

We have no large photos of family (or ourselves) on the walls - we just have a few tiny ones on the mantlepiece.

We have only ever had one TV and it's small. I guess about 24".

We have never had a tumble dryer

We don't have a hairdryer (had one years ago but gave it away.

We don't have any "black tea" teabags - only loose teas.

We don't have our own "sides" to our bed or seats in the sitting room or at the dining table.

Coffee machine
Pets
Patio heater of any kind.

If the thread title had said “what do you have at home that you haven’t used since Adam was a lad” I could write a list as long as the Great North Road!

I have a dishwasher too. Does that make me a lazy, bargain basement kinda girl?

Lucca Sun 02-Oct-22 10:14:29

I refer to the dishwasher comment.

volver Sun 02-Oct-22 10:13:24

Whisper it...

We have a fire pit.?

BigBertha1 Sun 02-Oct-22 10:13:23

Fire pits and garage conversions into an outdoor room with wall mounted flat screen TV and hot tubs are all the go round here - its Cheshire - things can get a bit bargain basement Footballers Wives here.

Mamissimo Sun 02-Oct-22 10:11:33

FannyCornforth

Who does have a fire pit?
Anyone?

We have a solo stove - we got used to socialising outside during the pandemic and it made it a far more comfortable experience for everyone.

henetha Sun 02-Oct-22 10:11:05

I've never had a dishwasher, nor a tumble dryer, nor an air fryer.
No coffee machine. No milk frothing device.
No pets now.

boheminan Sun 02-Oct-22 10:08:08

EkwaNimitee (I'm admitting) I don't have a mobile phone shock

rosie1959 Sun 02-Oct-22 10:07:43

Definitely
don't have
Slippers
A fire pit
A hot tub which both of my children have
The most missed item A dog although children provide me theirs regularly
Apart from that have most of the mentioned items and a Cook4me which I haven't worked out yet !

RichmondPark1 Sun 02-Oct-22 09:59:48

Books.

Not that I don't read. I have been a mad keen library user all my life. If I buy or am given a book I take it to charity when I've read it. Always makes my mind boggle when on shows like Escape to the Country people need an extra room for their 3,000 books. Will they ever read them again?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-Oct-22 09:58:22

Oh I forgot that I haven’t got a kettle and haven’t had one for over 35 years, we have a boiling water tap.

Blossoming Sun 02-Oct-22 09:46:37

A telly.

eazybee Sun 02-Oct-22 09:39:35

No slippers; barefoot or sandals in summer, suede moccasins in winter. (Moshulu and Crew to save you searching).
No: tumble dryer
air fryer
coffee machine
kindle or i pad

Franbern Sun 02-Oct-22 09:35:47

A pet, car , kettle (have quooker style hot water tap), or spiralizer. No loads of different cleaning materials. White Vinegar and Soda does nearly all jobs I need. No garden, so NO garden gadgets whatsoever. No smart meter (my meters are too far apart for them to be able to fit one of these for me),

I had to laugh when I read a poster calling it lazy to use a dishwasher. Being by myself I find it far too much of a faff to load and unload my small DW, unless I have people over for a meal or do the occasional wash through of glasswear (nothing brings them up more sparkling than a DW). I am far too lazy to use it every day.

Charleygirl5 Sun 02-Oct-22 09:35:29

Tumble dryer
BBQ
Pressure cooker
Any sewing material including a needle and thread.
Sky, Netflix
Have a mobile phone but never use it.
I am partially sighted so my Alexa is a Godsend to me.

Jaxjacky Sun 02-Oct-22 09:34:22

No firepit, but a chiminea, bought during covid ‘sit in the garden to meet’ times. Used extensively, with blankets purchases at the same time, it’ll be used again soon.
