Me:

Wordle
Quordle
Trickster
I used to play Candycrush and got completely hooked. Had to delete the app and haven’t dared go anywhere near it since.

Reading the fantasy threads on Gransnet. Today’s is an absolute belter grin

Hi blossoming. Where can I find fantasy threads have looked but couldn’t see anything.

You can’t find them. GNHQ delete them.

If I am happy doing whatever then I don't consider it wasted time. I could say that I waste time ironing (but I do it as little as I can get away with). grin

Indian cooking videos on Youtube and then lots of other irrelevant things that are 'suggested' Ruzzle word game.

Free competitions, used to win wonderful prizes many years ago, holidays, landscaped garden, electrical goods, even a car. This was when slogan writing was popular, nowadays haven't got the hang of social media & never buy a product just to enter like hundreds of thousands do. Luck of the draw prizes rarely come my way. Not complaining, I've great memories of those long white envelopes.

Ditto to all of that Leah50 and sounds like GreenGran78 also.

Now it's reading, surfing and making jewellery when not at work. I do miss the rush of crafting a slogan and a LWE smile

Talking to my cloth eared husband ?

Reading and marvelling at the politics on Gransnet because i had never realised just how many old women supported Labour. But many are anything up to 30
Years younger than me. I read online DT and the Times plus Spectator and Guido Fawkes. Thrn i am a Sudoku devotee and up until i became ill and had to be in hospital i worked hard to save the lives of dogs in Shelters in Ohio. Currently i am resting and trying to get stronger here in St Lucia but i just cannot watch news from home because it depresses me so
much i could cry. So i talk to my dogs instead. My son feels the same and we mourn for the Conservatives and wish Maggie was back. All a complete waste of time.

I’ve just ensconced my husband into care home after caring for him for 27 years ((stroke/Alzheimer’s).What with working part time all those years as well , I’ve never had spare time . I had my 2nd stroke a year ago so now at last I’ve got spare time! I intend to waste it …waste it….and if there’s any left over …I’m gonna waste that as well!

Wordle most mornings, GN, What-sapping trivia back & forth with old friends who I don’t see often, watching You Tube videos, usually on diet, health or crafts. I also fall down the rabbit hole on Ancestry. Years ago I got quite addicted to Tetris but I don’t do many games like that now.

I hang my washing neat on the line not so it looks good but so I don’t have to waste time ironing it?

Wasting time on Royal Match it’s an online game but so addictive but I guess it gets the old grey matter churning so perhaps not such a waste ?! Trying to please everyone when I know it’s impossible, I really must try to bite the bullet and just please myself now. Crosswords and online surfing for nothing in particular!

I would argue that I waste time going to work because you can guarantee if I dropped dead tomorrow they'd replace me within weeks (or do away with my role). So surely making memories with friends and family by playing games or just spending time with them is more important, however I have yet to find a way to monitise that grin (although "influencers" manage) so sadly must continue to go to work smilethanks

Worrying about family things that I can't do anything about.

I don't consider puzzles a waste of time.
But I waste time on Facebook.
Also doing housework that isn't important.
Looking for clothes online knowing I won't find what I want.
Reading rubbish books ( have cut down)

Larsonsmum Mon 03-Oct-22 16:39:43

No hobbies such as puzzles, gardening, crafts, watching TV, listening to the radio, reading etc, etc, are wasting time as far as I am concerned.

What I did waste time on for decades was being at the beck and call of ungrateful family and friends - no more.

biglouis Mon 03-Oct-22 16:22:13

Housework. A complete waste of time - you are just symbolically moving dirt around.

Shirls52000 Mon 03-Oct-22 16:15:24

Gransnet, mumsnet, Duolingo, Farm Heroes Saga ( bit like Candy Crush but with vegetables ?) Facebook and in recent political times have been venting on Twitter

Greciangirl Mon 03-Oct-22 16:14:05

Scrolling on Facebook.

VioletSky Mon 03-Oct-22 15:56:52

Reasoning with unreasonable people...

But I work with 4 to 7 year olds and it is just habit at this point

MiniMoon

The time you enjoy wasting
Is not wasted time.

- Bertrand Russell.

I agree, MiniMoon. Whatever I am doing, I am turning things over in my mind at the same time. Even when I am sleeping I sometimes wake up with a solution to a piece of work or knotty problem....

GrammaH Mon 03-Oct-22 15:52:36

Wordle, Waffle , Octordle plus reading crime fiction.

Alioop Mon 03-Oct-22 15:44:31

Looking at all new A/W dresses online, buying them even though I'm not going anywhere to wear them.
Cleaning up after workmen only for them to come back and leave a worse mess.
Starting a diet and then ending up eating cake.

nexus63 Mon 03-Oct-22 15:37:55

spending to much time tidying up and hoovering when it is only me here.
