Good morning -several hours later- from N Bucks where the weather seems to have gone from sunny to grey to cloudy with a bit of sun
Can’t get my a**e into gear today - I’ve put a load of washing in, started a soup but still in my pj’s - Ooh #sluttygranny.
I could have put in a days work since waking up at 6!
Anyway, Art History this afternoon so seeing friends again, I do enjoy these classes and like the people I meet there.
Other than that? Not a lot.

Just got back from Drs he had a call while we were in Berwick regarding chest x-ray he had a few weeks ago,so it's been at the back of our minds all holiday but to our relief it looks like colidation in his lower lung so ax prescribed.We are meeting friend s now for morning walk so have a good day all xx

Yesterday enjoyed church, came home and did more painting in the kitchen (will be glad when all the work is done!)
But might get some more paint (not Homebase) and refresh the windowsills throughout the house!
Today it telephone call day, then at 5 pm the bathroom designer no 2 is supposed to be coming. He’s the fattest man I have seen, not convinced he will be able to get into our tiny bathroom, or even up our steep drive!
Oopsadaisy you should have your shoulder checked out to see if you should exercise it or rest it?

My sister has returned to London and DD still here. We are out to lunch today in a place I have had my eye on for a while. She runs to the next village and back every morning whilst I dither about…
It’s been a busy time. My son, 20 miles away, had his birthday over the weekend and we went through for that, many friends and a fire pit, good fun.
I wake up a lot in the night. It would be nice to sleep right through, something which I think afflicts many of us here.
Thoughts to those with worries and I hope you have a good day.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Friend of over 50 years coming this morning for a cuppa and a chat, we do seem to relax well in each others homes having been in and out of them since our DC were babies. I know she won't notice the dust!

GrannySomerset we had our driveway block paved in June, it took 2.5 weeks, with the majority of that time being spent on preparation - it really is all about the base! It’ll look fab when it’s finished I’m sure.

It’s taken me ages to type this - my fingers are stiff and don’t seem to want to do what I want them to today ?.

Hoping that you all have a good day today and that appointments for those that have them, go well.

Our deacon is amazed at how they do as they are told with me. The are like naughty children, so I treat them like my former pupils!

I’ve been trying to ring the Surgery for a prescription for a uti , but they aren’t taking calls ! How does that work ? I’m used to ringing on the dot of 8.30 and being in the queue for at least an hour , but this is a new low
I’m due to go for the flu and Covid jabs in the morning , I hope they have a loo at the venue
Dentist for a checkup this morning , I know how to have fun !

Our Yorkshire Lass rang me first, on her commute into work. We had a lovely catch up and she shared the good news that her partner has received a promotion. He’s such a nice chap and I’m pleased for them both. Then I got a text from Himself saying “Morning!”. I text back “wanna chat?” which he did.

I can’t believe I’m missing him as much as I am! Or is it just that I’m envious of him being in the beautiful village of Plockton? They had a great drive up but my uncle (81y) was tired after his 3 hour share of the driving as far as Loch Lomond from Manchester. He said it’s all the same staff but the hotel is very quiet for residents, however the dining room was full - lots of visitors to the area stay in B&B’s so need somewhere for an evening meal. The 3 of them noticed prices have gone up. £8 for soup! Anyway today they’re off over to Skye after breakfast , then in the mid afternoon they’re going out on the seal trip boat (as always) - it’s someone in my stepfather’s family who owns and runs it for years & they bumped into him last night in the street.

I’m not doing much. I will pop into the square to the library later then enjoy a coffee in the independent café and people watch for a while! Also I might go into Boots to print some photos off as I’m thinking of doing a new collage of family snaps. I’ll cover the present ones (30y old!) and fit the glass back on. I wonder if Himself will notice or just walk past it ha!

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle where it is likely to rain later.
I generally took it easy yesterday as I was still recovering from my covid jab reaction or whatever it is. I had a video conversation with DS2 in Sydney late evening. The miracles of modern technology! I still think it's amazing that I can see and speak to someone half way around the world as though they were sitting opposite.
A robin has appeared in the garden this morning. I do hope it will stay the winter as birds are more or less absent round here most of the year. Not so spiders...the garden is alive with them, running over the bark mulch and spinning lines between the shrubs. I am evidently doing a lot for spider conservation.
Today is the usual boring round of housework and laundry until the afternoon when I plan to finish a new book.

Good morning all from the Angus coast where it was sunny but is now determinedly clouding over. Glorious photo of the pre-sunrise in South Yotkshire - I wasn't awake to see what it was like here.
Nothing planned here today. I'm expecting a heating oil delivery sometime this week - it's going to be interesting to see how much that is compared with last year!

Still waiting for the men to start laying the new drive. Looks like the Somme at the moment and means dirt being tracked into the house despite careful shoe wiping. Will be on the phone shortly to try to pin the boss down - he is an expert wriggler.

Nothing else in view today apart from flower club this evening but there is always a cupboard to clear out.

Enjoy “Mrs Harris”, Grandmabatty, there were really good reviews in Saturday’s Times and Guardian though the Sunday Times was tepid. I am going with a friend later this week and look forward to seeing Paris at the very least, though I admire Lesley Manville too.

We had a lovely time with sister and family in Liverpool yesterday. I wasn’t feeling too well after my double jabs but it didn’t spoil the fun.

Yesterday I waved goodbye for the last time to my NZ son at the airport and then watched Macbeth at our local cinema.

Good morning from a dry NE.
DD is really quite poorly with covid and apparently spent almost the whole day in bed. The cat would not leave her side except for a quick nip to the litter tray, must have sensed she needed the company.
SIL went for a walk yesterday afternoon and we noticed smoke then we heard a fire engineand saw a car was on fire on the estate. We were quite concerned as the driver had pulled off the perimeter road and parked at the gable end of a house. SIL said we should get well away in case the fuel tank exploded. Later last night the driver posted on our estate FB page thanking residents for caring for his DDs while he was with the fire fighters and apologising for leaving a smouldering wreck on their doorstep.
My neighbour has still not returned home, she went to look after her son's dogs while he took his DD to uni, does it really take seventeen days to transport one teenager ? I oversaw the emergency work, the power was off for at least twelve hours and workmen were tramping mud into her home, if that was me I would be returning home pronto.
Quiet day for me, I will digest the news that my bossy sister has decided to come to the UK in the middle of December and stay for 6 weeks. My sister does not have family so we will have to include her in whatever we do.

As forecast, yesterday was a quiet peaceful day spent pottering and resting. I feel better for it.
Today I'll have to get light bulbs and I might pick up some autumn stuff at the same time. Then dd is coming for a visit with dgs2. She's bringing me a homemade steak and sausage pie for tomorrow's dinner. Tonight I'm meeting friends at the cinema to see Mrs Harris goes to Paris. I don't fancy it much but as I don't do the organisation of it all, too bad. It's a night out after all. Whatever you are doing, have a good day all.

Good morning all from dull and grey South Lanarkshire.

I’m a little bit stressed by something silly which DH managed to do a few days ago but which we only discovered yesterday. Long story short, he’s lost a laundry basket full of bedding, towels and childrens’ jackets from DS’s house. We will have to replace all the lost items at considerable expense. I know he feels terrible about it but ?! I’m not showing my annoyance (and slight worry about him doing daft things).

Take a telling Marydoll and slow down.
