Where’s Pantglas these days? ?
I haven’t seen her posting much since she came back from the Andalusian sunshine. Hope all is okay.

Urmstongran Tue 04-Oct-22 08:24:37

The 8:20am to Oxford Street Manchester has just squealed into the station platform opposite. There’s a rail strike tomorrow.

Gala Tue 04-Oct-22 08:24:48

Ooh slept in this morning. Must get cracking. Dry & dull here in Sefton.
Strength exercise class on Zoom first then off to meet our friends from N Wales for lunch in a nice pub just about halfway between us.
Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. We have your weather here Marydoll and Kalu
So pleased for you Kalu .smile
I have heard that my new boiler is to be installed next week so that's exciting.
Yoga today and tea with an old friend.
I've seen 39Steps performed by 4 actors Ash It was brilliant and much appreciated by the Edinburgh audience.
My DGS was at Bourton on the water recently and delighted by it.BlueSapphire
Somewhere to visit.
I am glad it looks like your friend has more support than just you gMattie. Stay firm!
Hoping for a gentle day for everyone.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 15° and very wet and windy.
Kalu what good news for your husband. Pittcity Cadiz looks lovely.
Yesterday dd brought me a steak and sausage pie for dinner. I already had gammon for last night so I will look forward to having the pie tonight. Dd is a fabulous cook and baker. Last night I went to the cinema with friends to see Mrs Harris goes to Paris. Grannysomerset it was enjoyable escapism. The dresses were beautiful. The cinema was empty though. I'm not sure how long they can continue with such a small footfall.
Today I'm off to art class later to finish a pastel of an autumn leaf. Have a good day all.

Jaxjacky Tue 04-Oct-22 08:51:10

Morning from grey skies in S Hants. Well organised Mick.
Sounds like a fun and worthwhile evening Ashcombe, not surprised you were buzzing.
You have the right attitude gMattie.
I too had the optician yesterday, two new frames chosen, I was flattered by the assumption I needed to pay for the test!
Greenhouse clearing and tomato chutney today, quiz night later with my son and his gf.
Enjoy your day all ??

harrigran Tue 04-Oct-22 09:05:01

Good morning from an overcast but dry NE where it is 14 degrees. We are forecast rain for the rest of the week.
My neighbour returned from her trip away and came to ask me about the work that was done. I showed her the photos on my phone and she asked me to WhatsApp them to her. Why didn't she tell me she was on that a week ago ?
Didn't get any housework done yesterday so will do some laundry today ànd tidy round.
Have a good day all.

Sorry Kalu I missed your DH’s fantastic news, no wonder there were tears

Stilllearning Tue 04-Oct-22 09:09:34

Kalu, just wonderful! X

EkwaNimitee Tue 04-Oct-22 09:10:17

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Carlisle where the sun is trying to get out but rain is forecast. As I read it's raining up in Scotland currently, I think the sun is on a losing battle. Nevertheless, I'm thinking of paying a visit to the garden centre though not for plants, I need other bits and bobs and am due a free coffee. Plus I have cabin fever after being confined at home recovering from the after effects of my covid jab, if that's what it was.

The mentions of specs reminds me that I am due a test and will probably end up coughing up for new frames. Another thing on my list!
One good thing, having paid a mini fortune for a new computer, the travel insurance company has decided to pay up their share of a cancelled holiday and, on top of that the rail company is compensating me for having to travel economy when I had a first class ticket. More or less covers the cost of the computer.

Yes, Pantglas where are you? Hope you're still enjoying your chamberpots somewhere.

It's getting darker and darker by the minute here. I'll wish you all a pleasant and dry day if possible.

Good morning Mick and everyone. A cool and cloudy morning in this corner of Lancashire. Glad you’re all organised now Mick

No real plans for today, other than ordering a prescription and sorting out a shopping list for Mr. B for tomorrow’s weekly shop. I’m still feeling the effects of my jabs and just want to sleep. It will be better in a day or so and nothing to worry about.

I haven’t read the thread yet, will catch up now.

Have a good day all, virtual hugs to all in need of some comfort.???

luluaugust Tue 04-Oct-22 09:21:51

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. Another morning of drinking tea with a friend who has been abroad on holiday for the first time in three years so I don't expect to have to say much!.
Wonderful news Kalu.
Best wishes to all

Blossoming Tue 04-Oct-22 09:26:53

That’s great news Kalu. You must both feel so pleased.

Nannagarra Tue 04-Oct-22 09:47:13

Gala’s spot on: it’s dry, dull and grey here in Sefton.
A day spent with Mr Busy yesterday halted decorating. Today we press on for the convenience of having a convenience downstairs is temporarily unavailable.
Whatever your plans, have a good day.

hollysteers Tue 04-Oct-22 10:01:26

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast
Well my DD and sister have departed, leaving me with sheets drying here and there. A very nice visit, yesterday out to lunch with my DD and bought a red jacket, now to order the red trousers to make up a red trouser suit I am hankering after.
Music club today and I’m going early to help put out chairs, tea things and may be on the desk in charge as my other two helpers have appointments. ‘Twill be first time for me.
Kalu? and will read through later.
.

hollysteers Tue 04-Oct-22 10:07:03

Are other people getting adverts on here covering half the screen??

Nannagarra Tue 04-Oct-22 10:13:30

Are other people getting adverts on here covering half the screen??

No, holly. I hope my screen shot clarifies.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 04-Oct-22 10:16:07

Good Morning all from cloudy Harrogate.
Glad you have finally got your meds sorted Mick
It's good you have plenty of outside support for your friend GrandMattie Tricky if you are trying to sell your house and she is looking at houses to buy?
Marydoll I wouldn't have thought you need fancy frames to stand out? I imagine you would stand out anywhere!! The well dressed lady! It's strange how specs have become a fashion item, I just have frames that merge with me.
Glad you enjoyed Cadiz Pittcity
Yesterday did a bit more painting in the kitchen - oh those fumes from the paint do give me a headache!
The chat with my school friend was a bit worrying, her husband's sleep Apnea machine had broken down and she was getting nowhere trying to get someone responsible for helping with it.
My tumble drier started making ferocious noises yesterday, so do I get it fixed, or buy an electric clothes airer?
Today I have to inform DH we Are going to the shops this am!! I am going to a church club this pm to hear a talk on Nursery Rhymes!! Then our handyman is coming to do some work early evening.
Have the best day possible folks!

hulahoop Tue 04-Oct-22 10:16:45

Kalu that's great news !

baubles Tue 04-Oct-22 10:21:22

Ah that’s brilliant Kalu!

Kalu Tue 04-Oct-22 10:33:17

Thank you all so much for your kind messages. This has given our family, especially DH such a huge boost after such a difficult time on an emotional rollercoaster. He persevered and I am so proud of him.

Taichinan Tue 04-Oct-22 10:55:03

I've just lost my post! Now I know for sure that I can scroll up and down the current page but woe betide if I go onto the previous page!
Haven't time to to re-witter, but I must just say that your news brought tears to my eye, Kalu - I'm so happy for you!
Enjoy your tai chi grandmattie - it's the most spirit-lifting and energising form of relaxing exercise.
I didn't replace my tumble drier when it 'died', Gwen, nor my dishwasher. Two years without the d/w and almost a full year without the drier and I'm coping fine. The only disadvantage now is where else can I save on electricity!!
Must dash - ironing pile is beckoning furiously! Have a good day all x

Mapleleaf Tue 04-Oct-22 10:59:16

Good morning all,

The weather can’t seem to make up its mind here in South Yorkshire right now - one minute it’s dark and looks like rain, the next it brightens as if the sun is going to break through. I suspect the rain will win before long, though.

Mick, it might be a good idea to limit your outings until you’ve had your appointments as it does seem as if covid cases are rising a bit. They won’t see you if you contract it and you’ll have the rigmarole of trying to rearrange them once more.

No big plans today, just general bits and pieces, including a few tidying jobs in the garden.

Take care everyone.

Mapleleaf Tue 04-Oct-22 11:00:09

I meant to add, that’s brilliant news, Kalu ?

SunshineSally Tue 04-Oct-22 11:01:22

Good morning Mick and everyone from an overcast south Hants.

Just popping in to say that MiL was discharged late yesterday evening. Unfortunately we need to do another visit to hospital to pick up her new pills as they weren’t ready yesterday.

I haven’t read through the posts yet - but plan to do so once the kettle has boiled for a welcome cuppa ☕️

In the meantime, I hope you’re all having a good day.

Sending good wishes to those unwell, have appointments or are feeling low in spirits.

Hugs and ? for you all x
