Lovely and sunny here today - must take myself out for a walk once I’ve finished sewing up Balthazar, aka Wise Man One.

I'm on the south coast - was sunny earlier but a bit overcast now, slight breeze but still quite warm.

Well I'm in Turkey and it's been hot hot hot, 38 some days but cooling down now this week about 28.

Sydney - rain, rain, wind and cold!

BlueBalou Thu 06-Oct-22 06:12:58

It wasn’t too bad here in northwest Wiltshire, a bit blowy and a few showery spells but nothing like the weather you’re describing.

Spells of torrential rain in Somerset and once close to the sea front so windy I was blown to a halt at times. Miserable day.

Merseyside terrible torrential rain here.

Horrid day here in West York's seems to be quieter now.

Glorious day here in Tuscany. Blue sky and 26 degrees.

It's calmed down now in the Est Midlands but was awful about an hour ago.

I’m in the North East and it’s been wet and miserable all day. Now it’s absolutely bouncing down - what we call stair-rods! Patio flooded and Sky signal lost.

S coast again - blustery & damp. But it's not as cold as I thought it would be.

Bunkering down, just bought onions for a rissotto.

In Normandy, about level with the Channel Islands. A very windy blustery morning, butcalmed down after lunch and the rain started about 3.00pm, but not for long.

It’s been blustery all day here in S E Essex, the heavens have just opened and for 1 minute we have had the heaviest rain I have seen this year.

Still grey but rain has stopped as quick as it began.

That one minute started just as I came out after having a blood test.

I'm soaked through!!!

It was raining here on the eastern edge of the North Pennines this morning but the sun is shining at the moment. The wind isn't nearly as bad as it was yesterday but will probably be worse tomorrow.

We had our 2 youngest granddaughters 9 & 10 overnight, as mum and dad were off to work at 6.30 this morning. Unfortunately hubby had an early dental appointment, so the girls had to walk to school. Well, I should say run actually. The school is only around 300m away, but there is no shelter along the way. We stood on the doorstep looking at the wind and rain until the very last minute, waiting for it to slacken but that didn't happen. I sent them off with a spare pair of socks each in their pockets in case their feet got really wet.

Same here Witzend. It was supposed to be light rain showers. We are in the fens.
I'm not sure how I'm going to persuade the old boy out for his walk shortly. The dog that is...

Well it is (more or less) the Autumn Equinox.

Traditionally many Septembers bring a spell of fine, settled late-summer weather during the first half of the month which then give way to increasingly unsettled conditions with spells wind and rain developing during the second half. Often when this transition takes place within a week or so of the autumn equinox it has long been referred to as the time of "equinoctial gales"

SW London - was calm but grey not long ago.
Anyway, good excuse for staying in, getting on with knitting and watching an old Dalziel and Pascoe.?
