Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Today I plan to get the bus to Buckingham and then another to Bicester for the scenery change.
I when in Bicester go to my favourite cafe and have a breakfast bap , one thing being a bakery cafe , its using bread not baked to far from the shop outlet.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from coastal West Sussex where there is a clear blue sky and an autumn chill in the air.

Well that’s as far as I got before I realised it was time for the Zoom session I was booked on, discussing anti-racism. It was a very good discussion and now I have some homework to do.

The sky is still blue out there so I will enjoy some time ‘sorting out’ my neglected little garden and maybe sow some winter salad crops before it’s too late.

Thinking of those struggling with things life has thrown at them.

Morning all

Bright blue sky here in S E Essex where I shall be spending most of the day in the kitchen. I managed to get all the preparations done for my Christmas Chutney yesterday so today I shall cook it whilst peeling my onions for pickling. I also need to sort out my larder cupboard to see what is lurking in the corners ??

Will read all your posts later.

Have a good Saturday folks ??‍♀️

Good morning Mick and everyone. A cold bright morning in this corner of Lancashire.

I have laundry to be getting on with today, nothing else planned.

Safe journey to those travelling today. Healing thoughts for those with illness.

I hope the day brings some comfort to us all flowers

All the medical staff at the vaccination centres, staff in my GP surgery wear masks as do hospital staff.
Rightly so, too many vulnerable people attending these venues.

hollysteers Sat 08-Oct-22 09:39:42

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Just about to put my washing out to dry and later to have my covid vaccine. I hope I don’t have a side effect as due to see a show tonight.
Yesterday’s rehearsal went well, although I have 15 songs to work on and DS girlfriend has presented me with a large canvas to paint. Not sure what she wants or when I will fit it in.
?Pittcity and thoughts to anyone with troubles.

Urmstongran Sat 08-Oct-22 09:38:39

No masks worn here anymore either Oops at our GP surgery. Not by the doctor who jabbed me for covid, nor the nurse who jabbed me for ‘flu. One or two patients wore them but obviously only a personal choice now.

Still no sign of Pantglas? Hope the chamber pot queen is okay.

Also, talking about ‘queens’ ?? to our Crumpet Queen if by any chance you’re reading! We still miss you lady. Trust the family and ‘Old Tom’ cat are okay. x

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It is a beautiful bright and sunny day here, so I am hoping that the sweater I left on the line overnight, will gradually dry. I tried to make a small cake but let go of the beaters and got batter all over me and everywhere else within range. Words were spoken! It wasn't a great success, as I cooked it in my small air fryer and wasn't sure of timings. Still, it will make a tasty pudding with custard.

The boiler had it's annual service, with a good report from the engineer. Phew. All set for winter now and being warm.

Our GD was supposed to be visiting today, but had to cancel due to GGD having an upset tummy, and she didn't want to bring any germs. Shame, but they will come soon.

GrandMattie , you are doing too much, shopping, donating and baking. 8 doz fairy cakes, wow. Take it easy, but enjoy your family visit. Hope that your lodger's stump is soon eased.

Thanks for the beautiful moon picture Greyduster, and hope you plump for a Mini Cooper. My neighbour has one, and 'he' is a delight. Navy Blue and So smart.

Marydoll, hope you are not feeling too grim today. Our medical centre had long queues, but they did move fairly quickly from outside to inside. Surely there must be somewhere with much more inside space to rent for the vaccination venues? How on earth do they expect older folk to queue for a long time in the cold and wet?
Happy birthday and anniversary to Pittcity. Enjoy the surprise.
Have a good day one and all

Taichinan Sat 08-Oct-22 09:19:37

Good morning all A cloudier start in the Angus coast this morning, and only 7°, but looks like it could be another lovely autumn day.
Grandmattie what a whirlwind of activity you are - and much loved for it too! This is a memorable day for you all - bittersweet. Amazing moon shot Greyduster! I noticed that very bright moon last night too. And happy birthday and anniversary to you tomorrow Pittcity - sounds like an exciting weekend ahead.
Today I must have a day in the house as tomorrow I am off at the crack of dawn for a breakfast meet-up with DD and DGD3 in Perth. This DGD is the younger sister of Dancing DG and I'm looking forward to hearing of her achievements for a change! She's our netball star, working towards playing at county level. She becomes 17 next month and has already applied for her provisional driving licence.
I treated myself to a cheaper version of an oodie this week and it is the very best thing! I have been determinedly not putting on the heating these evenings and ignoring the ice cold nosetip, but yesterday evening I popped on this lovely fleecy 'blanket with sleeves and a hood' and even the tip of my nose was warm. Success! Much needed, as yesterday, coincidentally, I received the invoice for the recent oil delivery for the central heating .......
Right. Off I go. Kitchen first and then the ironing pile - I save my washing for when the weather's good in order to get it dry outside, but it does result in ironing piles!
Have enjoyable and successful days everyone x

Good morning from a bright West York's it's very cold.Marydoll that was disgusting don't blame you for contacting Mp. Kitty good to see you are feeling brighter,Gm ?.Have a good day everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Sat 08-Oct-22 08:45:20

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a clear blue skied Hull.

grandMattie you are inspiring as always. Hoping your day goes well. A poignant day again for your family?

Greyduster such a fabulous moon pic. When we were with my parents in Menorca DH held his phone up at the brightest star and using his app told them it’s Jupiter and they were amazed.

Marydoll I don’t blame you writing to your MP about yesterdays treatment at the vaccine centre. I’m sure there will be a few people who are poorly today from uncomfortably standing in the rain as well as from their vaccine. Hope you are feeling much better by the time Dollie comes over.

We have a quiet day today. DS doesn’t have GS today so we won’t see him but son is staying here tonight after going out with his friends this afternoon. DH wants to potter in the garden. We need to collect and roast the red tomatoes off the vines.

Enjoy your day everyone if you can. Thoughts to those struggling today. ??

BlueSapphire Sat 08-Oct-22 08:44:21

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton, and set to be fine all day. As I write I have the first women's World Cup rugby match on tv: England v Fiji, which I recorded in the early hours of this morning, as it is in New Zealand. I love women's rugby and have my sights set on a ticket to one of the Six Nations matches next spring, which is being held here at our premiership ground.

Younger DGD arrives mid-morning and we shall probably get the bus to the shops to have coffee and cake and a mooch around - I have my summer duvet to take to the cleaners and a few things to get, and she may enjoy a look around the shops. Then home for a pizza lunch and await elder DGD's arrival this afternoon after her dance classes. An easy dinner (hot dogs and fries) in front of Strictly tonight, and perhaps a film with popcorn afterwards. The cats will enjoy some new company!

Busy weekend in order for most of us I see, so will wish all a pleasant Saturday.

Grandmabatty Sat 08-Oct-22 08:42:02

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and some blue skies above.
Last night was the James Taylor concert. Although his voice isn't as strong as it was, he was just as lovely as previously. I couldn't get to sleep when I eventually went to bed though, so it'll be a quiet day for me. Grandmattie you are truly inspirational. I hope the day goes well.
Today I'll potter and get the housework done but that's all. Have a good day all

Georgesgran Sat 08-Oct-22 08:38:54

Good morning from Durham. I’m having a lie in! Yesterday’s hospital appointment for my friend didn’t go well - she expected to be ‘signed off’ after her op, but tests have revealed another area which is only treatable, not curable. A very complex situation with her family, so it’s our secret for now.
DGS1 wants me to take him to a wildlife park this afternoon, so will wrap up warmly and hope it lifts my spirits.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Mick and All.

Sunny warming up day in South Bucks.

Glad to see you will tucking into fish and chips Kitty your appetite must be returning.

Made an excellent purchase in M and Co yesterday. I have been looking for a raincoat with a warm lining and hood, especially useful for standing on frozen cold football pitches watching DGSs play. It’s navy blue with spots. Looking forward to trying it out.

Have fun with Dollie Mary. ?

Wyllow3 Sat 08-Oct-22 08:30:22

Morning all from S. Yorks.

grandMattiemay your family ceremony feel right and good. I think you do as much as approx 4 grans!

Today is sunny with clouds and I would like to get outdoor a bit of a walk and fresh air later. (karmalady really must get bike out and tyres pumbed up, except I live on a hill…)

You get that day our Blue hope you find shoes.

Loved the picture Greyduster- so will you go for the Mini Cooper?

Marydollso sorry it was shambles getting your jab, it was in and out in 15 mins locally! Not good at all! No reaction to the Moderna here so far except tired as usual (I have CFS).

Enjoy the bakery bap Mick nothing quite like freshly baked.

Good morning from a sunny NE where it is 8 degrees.
Weather was horrible yesterday so I remained indoors.
Sister and BIL will visit this afternoon and bring my bread and milk, we will have a glass of something and a chat. DS and family will visit too.
Need to sort through my wardrobe and find something to wear for the concert tomorrow, I have spent the summer in skinny jeans and T shirts but need something a bit smarter.
Have a good day.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 08-Oct-22 08:28:38

Good morning from a bright and sunny Oxfordshire.
We had our Boosters in Newbury, inside a shopping centre, so no queueing outdoors (although it was a lovely day) we joined the queue but because we had booked we walked straight in. No Masks! We were the only ones with masks on, even the Volunteers working there didn’t bother, seemed very odd.
Anyway a bit of a sore arm but that’s all so far.
granmattie where do you get your energy? I hope today goes well with you, but please take time out to have a rest.
Pittcity Happy Birthday and Anniversary for tomorrow in case I forget.
Have a good day everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 08-Oct-22 08:26:36

Morning all from a clear, 5 degrees S Hants. No real plans today apart from grocery delivery this afternoon. I need to go to the library, but parking is limited and it’ll be busy, so a Monday jaunt.
Stunning picture Greyduster, thank you.
Go gently today gMattie.
Have your best day all ??

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 08-Oct-22 08:23:54

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m having a lie in! I was supposed to be doing a volunteer stint today at the nearby interesting house. My neck is still uncomfortable though and I feel a little under the weather so I have cancelled.. Next week I am having my covid and flu boosters, dentist and finally, a colonoscopy. I must read through the information. So today may be a reading day. I made a batch of very rich chocolate cakes yesterday so may bake something today. I hope all of you have a good weekend.

monk08 Sat 08-Oct-22 08:22:20

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
The sun shining through the window is showing how inadequate my housekeeping skills are, will have to make a date with the duster. But in the meantime its Saturday so full English calling, will catch up with everybody's news later.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Saturday and may you all find some ?.

Kalu Sat 08-Oct-22 08:18:29

Good morning all from a chilly but much brighter and dry day in Glasgow

I am just about to leave and head for the but-n-ben where I will meet up with a cousin and two friends who live in Perthshire. A girls week-end and surprisingly, a bottle of champagne found it’s way into my luggage. DH is looking forward to a visit from 2 of his cousins, pleased to have an empty and watch F1. The perfect boys day they tell me. ?

Internet connection is far from reliable so I will catch-up later.

Have the best day possible all.

Gingster Sat 08-Oct-22 08:11:10

Good morning all and it’s a fair one . Bright and not too chilly.

This morning DS1 and DIL are coming for coffee and DIL will cut DH’s hair. I don’t suppose the g’ds will come - teenagers who like to sleep in at weekends. ??.

This afternoon we are off to our friends Golden Wedding afternoon. They are having caterers to their house and their two lovely daughters will wait on us hand and foot.

Greyduster that moon pic is brilliant. So clear. ?.

Ash thinking if Herr Flick. Who was the actor in the T. V series? He hosted a village fete near us in Suffolk many years ago , and stayed in character the whole afternoon. He was great!

GM hope all goes well for your emotional day ?.

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day. ?

brook2704 Sat 08-Oct-22 08:01:00

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with lots of blue in the sky, it’ll probably be sunshine and showers just like the last few days.
Thank you for the interesting picture greyduster fascinating isn’t it, I can’t really get my head around the size of the universe out there!
gMattie you’re such an inspiration to others with what you manage to achieve.. I’ll be thinking of you today ❤️
This morning I’m going into town for a browse around the shops and I’ll probably take DGD to her dance class - our last minute arrangements still to be confirmed!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
