Good morning all - dark and vey still here in Essex.
Dh has just left to take the car in for its MOT. He’ll get the bus back but won’t be able to use his bus pass as it’s too early. It makes him furious and I know he’ll make some remark to the driver ! ?.
We had a lovely breakfast with DS2 yesterday and ds1 came too. It was so nice to have my 2 boys all to myself.
Popped round to DS1’s for a cuppa in the afternoon, as we haven’t seen the girls for ages. DGD 2 was there but dgd3 was out at a friends. How things change as they get older !
I’ve been achey since my jabs but hopefully that will pass .
Marydoll what fabulous news of a new grand- baby. ??.
Urms safe journey and enjoy your time away. I love that cartoon - so true!
Our neighbour pops to the station every morning to get us and himself a Metro. ?.
Ash hope the funeral goes well. What a very strange vicar to be so narrow minded! I can’t understand his reasoning about when you re-marry! ?
Wishing you all a ‘good’ day ?

What wonderful news Marydoll! ?
Good Morning from an overcast but milder S Yorks.
Today is the only day without actual "must do's" so I'd like to catch up o some admin and do a bit of Massive Mammoth Task clearing garage out.
Sigh. (Its part Asbestos and Something Has to Be Done - not sure yet as have garden tools and no where else to store atm.)
Ashcombe appalled by that vicar! I hope the funeral is a real proper and loving "good-bye".
Safe travel Urmstonegran.
Good news Marydoll
Best days possible all.
Good morning all from East Yorkshire.
What lovely news Marydoll many congrats to the parents to be.
A quiet day for me just a hair appointment and a couple of phone calls to make.
Hope your DGS will be on the mend Georgesgran what a worry that must have been.
Safe travels Urms
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry, although it's difficult to see out past the condensation. Very annoying. Marydoll what lovely news! Huge congratulations to your son and daughter in law. When is she due? Ashcombe I'm another who is angry on your behalf regarding that minister. A similar thing happened to me. Urms safe journey. I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow in warmer climes.
As anticipated I had a quiet day in yesterday. I cooked a lot and tried to make an apple crumble in the air fryer which wasn't wholly successful. The crumble part was fine but the apples were still hard. Back to the drawing board.
Today I'm meeting art friends for lunch at a restaurant I haven't tried before. Then the highlight of the day - dgs1 is coming for a sleepover. We have chosen the food already and I'm looking forward to him staying very much. I'm not sure what we'll get up to tomorrow as it'll depend on the weather. Sausage and mash and then ice cream for dinner, homemade pancakes for breakfast. Have a good day all.
Morning all
It is grey and wet here in S E Essex, not a lot planned other than sorting out some kitchen cupboards.
Safe journey Urmstongran;enjoy the sun x
Many congratulations Marydoll what wonderful news
Have yiurnbest day folks ?♀️?
Good morning all from the Black country.
A trip to the bank, and a small amount of ironing that's todays plans very boring.
So lovely to hear your news Marydoll .
Urms have a safe journey ✈
Enjoy your Monday everyone and may you all find some ?.
Good morning from a dull Black Country where it rained overnight. Not cold as no need for heating on!
Monday morning walk, then I think we are sorting out the loft this afternoon, and putting away caravan bedding etc and getting our winter clothes out.
Wonderful news Marydoll so happy for you all.
Safe journey Urms I miss Malaga, having not been since 2018, need to go soon.
Wishing you all a good day
Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.
Mick hope your stomach feels better today.
Safe journey Urms, enjoy your holiday
Many congratulations Marydoll lovely news.
Our little family are home from Morocco late tonight they’ve had a lovely time. DD sent a couple of videos of GD1 performing on stage with the kiddy club. Really cute.
Today it’s the usual zoom yoga and later picking up GS from school. I’m going to bake his favourite banana loaf and put it in the oven when I go and pick him up. He enjoys it.
Hope all your friends get togethers go well and funerals as well as can be expected.
Hugs to those dealing with family illness??
Good morning everyone from a dull N. Bucks.
Bon voyageUrmsongran enjoy !
Lovely news Marydoll.
I’m off to a mixed media art class this morning . This afternoon I am going to DGS2s school Harvest festival . This evening I have a zoom art class. Busy day .
Thoughts with all struggling with illness or other problems. Hope today is a good one.
What marvellous news to share with us all Marydoll I bet it’s your first thought every morning when you wake!
Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton, can't see what the weather's like, but one of the cats is on weather alert, sitting in a dark porch and peering through the glass.
Up early this morning for yoga.
Gave the kitchen a good clean yesterday morning after Saturday evening's incident with the bottle of red wine, and washed all the towels used to mop up the wine. Needed neat bleach to get the wine stains off the work-tops!
Spent yesterday afternoon in the garden; cut the dead ceanothus back to almost ground level, but actually getting it out of the ground defeated me, so have decided to leave it at that. Then trimmed another long edge of the back grass with the half moon spade; will probably try to continue with that this afternoon, as the forecast is good. Then read more of my book for book club.
Have a good Monday everyone.
Good morning from Durham, where I’m debating whether to get up, or stay in bed longer. Mick please don’t tweak, seek advice - it’s just a phone call?
DGS2 wasn’t well yesterday, so taken to Hospital with a temp of 41 and heart rate of 208 last night. Very worrying, but it looks like a viral throat infection and he was home a few hours later with meds. Poor little soul was so unhappy when we were out - he must’ve been feeling awful.
I should go over to the empty house and continue to clear up the outside mess, but not sure if I can be bothered yet.
‘Flu and booster jabs tonight!
Best wishes for a good day. X
Good morning from a dark and damp Colchester. Up before sunrise as the days are getting short.
A bit of shopping and finishing the ironing are today's tasks. DH will be home with more laundry later so the never ending cycle will begin again.
Love to all ? x
Good morning Michael and all GNs. Ash is right, Mick. Check before stopping your meds please. I have no idea what the weather it doing it’s still fairly dark. I have a hospital appointment at half past eight so must get a wriggle on this morning. DD has just brought me coffee.. Some shopping on the way home and then a quiet day. I’ll catch up with you all later.
Good morning all from Glasgow, where its 7°C.
Mick, I too advise caution and a call to the liason nurse. I have RA specialist nurses and they have been a great support and a good way to gain access to the consultant, if necessary.
It's not wise to mess about with your medication, without speaking to a clinician first. Your recent iron infusion may be the cause. I hope you get some advice.
Our family meal was a great success yesterday, Dollie was in her element with all the attention.
The icing on the cake, DIL2 announced her pregnancy. We have known for weeks, but only DH and I and the other parents knew.
DS2 slipped the first scan into the pictures of their wedding in March, when we had lunch last month.
At first I didn't realise what it was, because DS had inserted it sideways. DDs mum, a nurse realised right away!
Then the floodgates opened.?
I never thought I would be a gran again, for I carry a defective gene, which has impacted on my children's chances of having a baby. My darling wee Dollie was born after fifteen years of trying and a very difficult pregnancy.
It has been so difficult to keep this secret, but we had to wait until the second scan, to ensure that all was well. My children were astonished that I managed to keep stumm. ?
I came home and immediately fell asleep, only to be wakened by the PP phoning to ask if I could get into the parish website, to urgently upload something.
I hadn't worked on websites since 2014, so was very rusty and was afraid I would bring the whole site crashing down. ?
The person, who manages it, hasn't been working on it for ages and has gone non contact for some reason. Parishioners have been complaining about missing information on the site,
I eventually got into it, but the format was totally different from the ones I've worked on. I was flummoxed.
After a few false starts, I actually managed to publish the materials. I am so chuffed with myself! The PP is even more chuffed. I am such a geek!
DH is golfing and I'm off out to spend an hour working on the parish census. An exciting day ahead.
Tonight I am going out for an early dinner, with my two pals across the road.
I'm so looking forward to it, I have missed our catch ups and their company.
Thinking of all, who are struggling and keeping you in my prayers. Safe journey to Urms, I think she is off today to Spain.
Have a pleasant day, whatever your plans.
No Matt = Monday.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s still dark but it’s dry. The train station office opposite is lit up all through the night. It’s very bright yet no-one arrives to open up until 7am. Surprising how many elderly gentlemen pull up in their cars, help themselves to the free Metro newspaper on the stand and drive off. I’ve watched three already.
We are off to sunnier climes this afternoon. I shall ring a taxi to pick us up at 2pm. £20 in a taxi and we’ll be at T2 in 15 minutes. Woohoo! Here is one of my favourite Lynda Lee Potter’s from years ago. I took a photo of it years ago (with a real camera!) and put it in a frame - it’s on the wall in the little Spanish apt.
Mick I’m sure you are worrying so some advice today by phone would be a good idea as you say.
Good morning everyone from our overnight hotel in Edinburgh, I can just see a corner of the castle and the sky looks grey
A very unchristian vicar Ash!
We had a really lovely good catch up with DS and his partner, a top notch wine bar first and then a lovely meal and much chatter in a fusion restaurant in the old town. It was quite expensive by our standards but very reasonable compared to the Swiss prices they’re used to paying! We’re back home to reality today
Safe journey to Urms and all travellers today
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all from a still dark North Leicestershire.
Not a lot happening here today!!
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I too have a funeral this afternoon at a church I stopped going to for various reasons. The funeral is for our neighbour, who was the local vet until he retired. A very popular man so imagine the church will be packed. I shall do a stack of laundry this morning and my other Monday tasks will be done tomorrow. Have the best day everyone ???
Good morning from a dark S Hants, I think it’s dry. Haircut today, just a trim, then off to collect my new glasses.
Safe journey on your travels today Urmstongran ?
Enjoy your day if you can all ??
Good morning Mick and all from a dark northwest coast.
Sorry you have been feeling unwell Mick.
That Vicar of old didn’t sound very Christian Ashcombe! Good to have a friend who was.
Early for me today as I’m off on a coach day trip to Shropshire/Worcestershire. Coincidentally I have just started a book by Francis Brett Young (1927) set in the same area.
Right, now to make up a flask and make myself look human?
Thoughts to anyone with troubles and hope you have the best day you can.
Good morning from Sefton.Very dark out there. Looks wet underfoot but not actually raining.
Singing group for non singers this morning. We'll murder a few more songs, have lots of laughs & feel much better for it.
Take care.
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks damp if not raining just now.
Beautiful day yesterday, calm and sunny. Laundry on the line we enjoyed a walk along our little river. Back on the bus, a circular walk several steps too far at the moment. Not sure what today will bring. Mr C has offered to do the ironing, maybe some admin phone calls for me.
Mick please seek advice, I understand it’s tempting to tweak meds but it truly is best to speak to someone first.
Take care everyone. Hope Monday is gentle with us all.
good morning from s somerset. I am expecting a flat day outside.
I do hope that you get the support you need today Mick
Moderna vax on saturday, no side effects apart from the expected achey arm, relieved about that
I had a smart meter on 7th and the monitor recorded for a few days, then it stopped communicating with my account. I am hoping that octopus manage to tweak at their end to re-connect. Seeing what used what was very interesting and useful
