What do you find yourself avoiding more as you get older?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looks clear outside and dry here in brackley this morning.
One thing I have noticed about myself , the iron Infusion I had a week ago is just starting to work .
Yesterday I felt the benefits of it going out .
I have read my schedule online as to tomorrows appointment , I spend roughly an hour with the anaestheist get rig up and go on the exercise bike for 10 minutes , I cannot have any caffeine related drinks prior to it either .
Today will get bus and have a couple of hours in Bicester.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Durham. DD2 remains in hospital and whilst I have always refrained from criticizing the NHS - wonderful throughout DH’s final illness - things where she is are shambolic. Having got a bed at 3.20am on Tuesday morning, she was later moved from acute care to a Ward, but that was then deemed premature, so three moves yesterday, but having vacated a bed, there was never another available and she ended up on the trolley in a corridor for hours, where she had all her meals. Talk of discharge, but that was soon abandoned. I shall pop in later - hourly visiting slots only, but I’ve said I’ll babysit tonight, to allow her DH to go to football.
Hope others are having a better day than on the cards here.
Best wishes to all.
Good morning from a dull, damp NE.
Sister, who had a fall, spent six hours waiting to be seen yesterday. Apparently she has a fracture in her knuckles, common in boxers, she must have clenched her fist when she fell.
Shopping day today, SIL will come about 11am and we will purchase Sainsbury's finest for lunch, usually olive bread and a selection of meat and cheese.
One of DH's friends sent me a card yesterday, made me cry. How very kind of him to remember.
Slept better last night, at least I didn't have screaming nightmares.
Have a good day all.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and grey outside. Cornergran I hope you can resolve things easily. There are many struggling on the thread today and my heart goes out to you all.
Dgs1 didn't want to go to the park yesterday and just wanted to go home. I think he missed his mummy. So it was a short and sweet sleepover. I dropped him off and he was quite happy. He said he was poorly. Wee scone. I pottered about the rest of the day.
Today is my weekly visits to mum and then my friend. Then home to potter again. Have a good day all.
Georgesgran sorry to hear your DD is still in hospital and being pushed from pillar to post.
I hope that she gets sorted and can get home soon.
Baubles, I have always admired and envied your beautiful hair! ?
Is that Culzean beach?
Kalu safe journey, I dislike driving on that road!
Sorry about your DD Georgesgran . As you say, shambolic. I hope today is better
Harrigtan your poor sister.
I know how she feels having broken my same wrist twice in quick succession. The second time I landed badly and had to have it yanked into its proper place- under sedation.
Marydoll words fail me ! Can DH fetch the prescription?
Good Morning from a grey S Yorks.
Fortunately its not raining as my love gardener is coming. She's lovely to be with and such a relief, as its a huge garden. At 11 go to meet new friend for coffee, hope it goes well and there are repeats.
A very bad night, so not a lot after that.
Corner sympathies for all depending on you, and granMattie yes your friend is a bit close to taking you for granted and you are a star.
Bests for hospital appointments and dreaded admin tasks, these things seem th take longer and longer, and sympathies with "what, ££££££! bills"
Morning from Connel where it’s bit blowy but with a lovely clear blue sky.
I’m back in bed with a cuppa while the house heats up a little. Dogs have been out and grandchildren still sound asleep. We sat up last night playing a modern version of Monopoly, which I gradually got the hang of, and then one called Risk, which I really didn’t enjoy but kept going because 14 year old DGS loved it. Unfortunately he then took a picture of the board and said happily ‘’We can finish the game tomorrow Granny’’. Blasted mobile phones!
A good walk with the dogs this morning and then for a treat, my favourite stroll over the bridge for lunch, with really beautiful views up and down Loch Etive.
It’s so nice to be with them. Wishing everyone a good day.???
Good morning Mick and everyone from a greyish Carlisle where the weather is still deciding what to do. Stay dry I hope as I am about to go out to post a parcel to Australia. I shall probably need the smelling salts when I pay up.
I'll return and get on with the ironing and/or a bit of cleaning before a relaxing afternoon, a pile of reading is accumulating.
I'm also pondering whether to wash the car or not. It goes for a service and its first MOT tomorrow and its fairly dirty from driving muddy country roads. They actually give it a wash at the garage but will pride forbid me to take it in as is?! I have to drive more muddy country roads to get it there too.
Have the best possible day everyone especially if you're feeling overburdened at the moment.
Oh Georgesgran so sorry to hear about the awful problems your DD is having in hospital. I hope things settle down and she can be back home soon ?
Good morning from a dull and chilly Black Country.
Had a lovely meet up with a friend in garden centre cafe yesterday. She insisted on buying the coffee and cake belatedly for my birthday. It was an enormous slice of chocolate fudge cake, I couldn't eat it all and took some home. Not met up since early August, and it seems she has had a lot of family stuff to contend with. Just wish I could help in some way, everything seems to be going wrong.
Gym this morning, then ironing is looking at me!
Tonight we are going to see the local Operatic Society performing Kinky Boots. So only a 10 minutes walk from here.
Wishing you all a safe and peaceful day.
Grey and still this morning but singing to look forward to this afternoon. WI last night had us making felted soap - no, we had never heard of it either, but my hands have never been so clean and the chance to chat was very welcome; my WI friends are a real lifeline.
Cornergran, you sound exhausted by events which you can’t do anything about; Marydoll just sounds exhausted. The shorter days and the prospect of winter, to say nothing of ever increasing living costs, is not helping either. I think we need those flamingos.
Sorry to hear of your daughters trials and tribulations yesterday. I hope you find her more settled today Georgesgran.
Stilllearning, my DIL's sister lives in Connell!
Good morning all from a grey Angus coast where it's 9°. Feeling more like myself today, but who would have thought that recovering from standing around in a windswept beach for a few hours would have taken so long! I won't do that again in a hurry!
Today I have the return of the window installers to sort out the big north-facing window which, when you close it at the latch side, opens at the hinge side! I"d really like that sorted before the wind turns to come out of the north. And then it's off to take my friend out. She really enjoyed our run up country last week, so maybe we should do it again while we still can - we won't be going that way in the winter months!
I'm sorry to hear about all the problems folks are experiencing just now and I hope things will start going right again soon for you all ? and hugs to you all. Glad you're feeling the benefit of your iron infusion Mick.
Good morning everyone from Málaga where the sun’s just up. ☀️ We had glorious sunshine yesterday so I’m hoping for more of the same. I wore a summer dress and sandals no need of a cardigan even when we went out to eat tapas at 9pm.
I think we will go out for a long stroll about somewhere later. Along La Carihuela perhaps - it’s nice to be on the paseo at this time of year. The sea will be sparkling in the sunshine and it won’t be scorchio for a walk plus everywhere is that little bit quieter.
Good to hear you’ve more energy Mick. There are so many regulars on here facing trials and tribulations at present either personally or concerning family members. I hope those struggling can find peace of mind today in some form. I sometimes find myself thinking about you during the day. x
Yay! ?
?????. Here they are GrannySomerset!
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Glad to hear the iron is helping Mick.
No gadding about today, full of cold, probably picked up on my coach trip. So will miss today’s lunchtime recital and just catch up with some house stuff and feel sorry for myself.
Thoughts to Georgesgran and anyone with troubles.
It's cold here so heating on while I get my shower ,there is so many with troubles and worries on here to remember them all so I will send lots of hugs and hope they land where needed ,I am out with friend today lots to catch up on.
A late good morning from a cloudy Northampton, but the sun is trying its best. Have already tidied the kitchen, done washing-up, taken my weekly tablet, and some washing is waiting to be hung out. But I have yet to have my shower and get dressed! And then a Bolognese to make for the slow cooker.
A lovely walk with the group in warm autumn sunshine yesterday, followed by coffee in the cafe. This afternoon it's the well-being cafe, where I shall take my knitting and have a good natter along with coffee and cake.
Wishing all a pleasant Wednesday.
Good morning all from a hazy W Kent. Friend coming this morning for coffee and a catch up, she seems to have found a bungalow to purchase locally, no mean feat, so I expect a lot of housing chat.
Loads of ironing to do and a bad back, perhaps not surprising after a six hour train sit.
Best wishes to all.
Good morning Mick and everyone. A cold cloudy and very windy morning in this corner of Lancashire.
Glad you’re feeling the benefits of the iron Mick, hope all goes well with the test tomorrow.
No real plans for today, Mr. B has done the weekly shop and I am expecting a parcel delivery. I’m glad it’s being delivered today before the mail strike tomorrow.
Thinking of all with troubles, I hope today brings some comfort.
Have the best day you can all.
